Opti i liked the ending...the way u brought the things clear without crreating much hungama..i mean sr.mishra knowing the sahana paternity thing ...he might have died ...
Milind the way he explained to Sahana about how he lied for his convience that he and prachi did have flaws but the way they corrected and led a happy life ...
Sahana love tro her dad increased more...
Good ending for ALAAP ...LOVED IT.
Opti Thank u so much....as in the beginning i was little apprehensive but on the whole as the FF passed i totally loved it.

Thanks Sumu. Glad I could make you accept my unconventional Milind-Prachi-Sahana love story.

Lizzy, Alaap is in police custody. He must have got his fair share of 'special treatment' from them.

"Papa, give me some time. It is all too much to accept in a day,"
It was all too much for Sahana. But it's good that she knows the truth- her mother's unfortunate early life and her father's magnanimous heart. I am glad that she could see things in the right way and accept them. It's good to take things as they are and move on when you surely can't change them.

I love this Milind, he loves and respects his wife, understands his daughter perfectly. Yes, Prachi and Sahana owe a lot to him, but in turn they are his eyes.

Thanks a ton for this story Opti Akka. It was deeply touching, and thought provoking.

OPTI..I loved how you handeled the whole Shahana scenario. I was a bit upset when she got Alaap's letter....thinking why you didn't give Milind and Prachi a chance to solve this on thier own...but in real life may things happen unexpectedly. Loved how Milind once again is able to explain to Shahana how her parent were once youg too...and made thier fair share of mistakes...very well written. Glad that in the end Shahana has also accepted her biological dad...Neev too...shows that even though Milind is not her biolociv=gal dad...she has learned to be as open hearted and magninmous as her Pappa!!! Thanks for a great story!!

Thanks Nargis. Yes, in real life things dont happen the way we want them to but the art of good living is to accept whatever happens and try to rectify it is possible. Here, with Milind at the helm, it was'nt too difficult to sort out the issues because (1) the guy was genuine and what he told his daughter was the truth and (2) the guy was articulate and could convince any one with his talk.
And yes, parents do make mistakes and the ones her parents made here are those committed even before she was born. Since she was around, she has known nothing but goodness and love. So punishing them for things which cannot be reveresed was meaningless and Sahana luckily understood that. She is a mature girl and must have grown up quite a bit that night.
There are many qualities we learn from the people we are raised by. In fact there are some who say that there are no inherent qualities but our entire character is a learnt behaviour. I do not know which is true but yes the magnanimity of her Papa has rubbed off her.

hey opti, thanks so much for letting me know about this epilogue, and also for writing it. there is so much love, kindness, generosity and truth in this story. the words you wrote replying to another response -
Nobody is perfect. As long as the person repents his/her mistakes and reforms, nothing is really unforgivable. In Prachi's case her past had a very big role to play in her error of judgment. But the pure love of a man helped her recover and start a new life.
are so true. milind has come out the true hero in this story. it is so commendable how he and prachi planned to tell sahana the truth of her biological father. there is obviously a strong father-daughter bond there, and milind feels absolutely no threat from neev.
all parents of adopted children are nowadays advised to tell the truth of the adoption to their kids as soon as possible, so that it is not revealed to them by strangers/outsiders and they don't later feel betrayed by their parents.
thanks for another thoroughly enjoyable read!

Thanks Manu. Yes, Milind is confident of Sahana's love for him that he never for one moment felt threatened by Neev. After all he had raised her well. He was however apprehensive of how she will accept her mother's deeds but in everyone's interests they decided to break it to her as gently as possible but Alaap beat them to it and filled her head with poison. Thankfully things could be handled by Michi and there was no permanent damage.
Yes, it is better for children to know the truth than for it to come out ugly all of a sudden when they are least prepared to receive it.
