I was surprised to read an article about TV soaps in Deccan Herald. Anyways, I hope the TV channels come up with better stuff in future.

" time-stretching devices (such as repeat shots of all family members standing in a circle when something important occurs or a long Bollywood song played in its entirety while the hero mopes...)"

🤣
I am just quoting a line from the article for it reminded me of my friend's comment.
A few months ago, I forcefully made one of my friends (who hadn't watched K soaps except for fighting with his mother to change channels in his home when she used to watch Kyunki Saas.....) watch an episode of Kayamath. And this was the exact comment he gave- Why everyone's face is shown in a circle with "thudum thudum" sound!!!

Believe me I had no answer to my friend's question. I told him I watch the show for the hero. But the guy wasn't impressed with either Shabbir or Panchi.

They have said it correctly in the article- "high-voltage senseless drama". So true but it cracked me up too!😆

I have vague memories of watching a few TV soaps when I was a child. Hum Panchi Ek Daal ke, Dekh Bhai Dekh, Malgudi days, Samandar, Thoda sa Aasman...Guess all these used to be on Doordarshan 1. The cable networks were only starting at that time.
They were way far better meaningful, entertaining and sensible. The actors used to be of top rate, so was the screen play. They weren't beating around the bush on one plot either. I wonder why the standards went down.

Layla, I am LMAO here.. "Duga Duga..."🤣
I think we are kind of used to these sounds. If you here them for the first time they are quite irritating.

lolz!! that totally cracked me up! hello, i was one of the few who'd ridicule ppl who watched these shows (sorry ppl i hope you take no offense😭😆😆) but sadly became addicted to one and then un-addicted!! wheww!! but once my bro saw me watching Kymth.....he was horrified to say the least!! it took him a couple of minutes to verbalize his thoughts!! :OOOOO --that's how his rxn was!! and then he saw me with one of those pathetic dreamy smiles when Milind was oh-so-charming--back in the Kymth golden days! he was like...."HOLD ONNN!! you LIKEEEE this guy!!"😆😆 i very meekly confirmed his thoughts!!🤣🤣
oohhh and HIYAA--Shubhie and Nargis!! wishing you a belated V-day!! :DD

Happy belated V-Day to you all.🤗
@Saima, I used to wonder too how can people watch a K serial. I still wonder the same since it was so painful for me to go through Kayamath (though it was less than a year for me as I started during PA track).
