To close a show is a decision that is taken by the channel or the producer. But looks like this time, the ball is in the actor's court. Balaji's yet another popular show Kayamath is facing stormy weather. The show that has seen the highest TRP's has been lying low for sometime. "Haywire storyline and bizarre execution has resulted in this disaster," says our source. Apparently, the problem started two months ago when the lead actor of the show Jai Bhanushali decided to quit. The buzz was that he did not want to play second fiddle to Shabbir Ahluwalia. "All along I was the main lead. But it's a daily show and the tracks keep changing. Sometime I'm the lead and some time other actors. I'm not that insecure to feel threatened by my friend Shabbir," cites Jai. On her end Ekta has been trying hard to resurrect the show but looks like the damage is beyond control. The final blow was Shabbir's disinterest in the show. The latter now wants to concentrate on his career in films and hence gives little time to Balaji. A few months ago la Kapoor had said, "I've never stopped my actors from growing. I didn't stop Prachi (Desai) and I'm not going to stop Shabbir." The rumour doing the rounds is that Kayamath is finally closing down. The last episode will be aired in February 09. "It will complete two years in Feb. And that's a decent duration for a show to run successfully," says our source. Wonder if Ekta will agree? http://movies.indiatimes.com/News__Gossip/Television_News/Ekta_under_pressure_to_end_Kayamath/articleshow/3749886.cms |
