Right now, in India, it is a sin, against the law. I was discussing the issue of eastern based culture to western based culture in olden days. But, certain people in India are very good at covering it up and unfortunately, if you have money and power, it can be easily done. That 's why I brought up Dhamendra.

Also, if your marriage is not registered then yes you could in fact get married more than once with only one marriage certificate. So maybe they are not even breaking the law. Men tend to do it more than women.

i am sure people marry twice. these are not legal liasons.

Either say Indian law or Hindu act law. These are two different things. Indian culture and Hindu culture in present day India are two different things.

And where am I defaming India? If you want to debate or discuss then why bring up certain issues? It is an open forum and I haven't broken any rules yet by disrespecting anyone's opinions. I am leaving this thread.
