Family Ties ... Until The Leap

Today showed the the family ties that bound Michi. From Soumya's break down to Alaap not wanting to listen to their radio to Dadi questioning why she is still here and Prachi is gone, all showed the huge part family has always played in Michi's life. Michi probably would not even have the realtionship they do, if it had not been for their families. Even the Sukriti-Alaap drama brought Milind and Prachi closer when he saw that she always put his sister's welfare first. Sukriti and Ritwik taught Michi the most important lesson of their relationship - trust. This is not even taking into account Baba being instrumental in bringing Prachi back and ensuring she stayed with Milind after the first time she left home and where would Michi be without all of Premlata's good advice and help. And Prachi and Milind's individual relationships with their family members also formed an important part of the series initially. There was Milind's troubled relationship with his father and his protective one with Sukriti. And even though much focus wasn't paid to it, Prachi always seemed to have a warm relationship with Soumya and though she and Alaap had their differences, you sensed he always cared for her. He took her slapping him without protesting and he turned to her for help when he couldn't stand working for Milind.
After reading the article about the leap, I'm disappointed about the disapperance of these characters as I am about Neev and Ayesha's characters leaving. Michi wouldn't be Michi without them. It's going to be difficult to see Michi going through some crisis without any of these characters around to hold their hand or comfort them or look worried with them. They made Milind and Prachi more rounded, complete characters. KYM just would not be the same without them, even if lately they haven't done some much except contribute to the background scenery. But then the blame has to go to the creatives for that. They have botched every storyline involving these character. They probably had to bring about the leap because they don't know how to resolve the whole Saket-Sukriti-Alaap mess. They even aborted the Soumya-Ranvir storyline before giving it a proper chance. I'm willing to giving this new family a chance but I doubt they will bring the same warmth that the old Shah-Mishra clan brought.

You know what bugs me is the fact that Kayamath has a strong supporting cast but yet despite all these supporting actors are wasted in the show... I'm not talking about Neev and Ayesha btw... they still did get a lot of scenes..

But today the girl playing Souwmya proved to be a revelation.. why didn't they give her more interesting tracks than just playing cupid to Michi once in a while??? She was so good.... Am sure given an exciting storyline, she could've entertained us...

Same goes for Bharat, apparently he was given a very complex role in Kasturi and he played it brilliantly.. but in KYM, he hardly gets like what? One scene a week....

Actors of such talent should not be wasted... their should be utilised to the max... 😕 We, as audience, would be more entertained as well!!!

I've just recently started watching KTH... that one has like 10 supporting characters, yet all of them get a chance and scope to perform... without taking the limelight away from Sujal-Kashish... Over here, that is sadly not the case!!! I know I'm not supposed to compare 2 shows, but I was just trying to make my point....

wonderful post.Always family played an inportant role.During the intial days of marriage michi got together because of the love and respect for each other's family.
Prachi has always respected and loved Milind's family whether it is sukruti or Baba, coming to milind though he didnot like them in the beginning,he let them stay, after he changed his view on Prachi he respected Premlata ,dadi and soumya.
I really like alap, his scenes with suyesha had me in splits.Hope they give that comical touch to his chracter after the leap.
I think sukruti will remain after th eleap.

Me too unhappy with the way they are using this leap to say good bye to many characters abruptly. Neev and Baba are the ones I will miss the most.
Baba was so important to keep Michi hooked in the early days. Why they are killing him cruelly in the leap?

Neev's characater was handled so badly. totally unfair.

Most of the family characters had a hand (one way or the other) in bringing Michi together because Michi had very strong family values. Even though they came from different environments....what was most striking about Michi was the fact they both placed family unity very high in their priorities.
It is very unfortunate that these characters will no longer be there. The original premise of the story writes about "changing relationships". The creatives missed the opportunity to develop Alaap's character from negative to positive...maybe...helping Sukriti resolve her marriage issues and having a much more loving and giving relationship with the rest of the family including Milsi. Many other characters could have been developed but they stopped at turning Ayesha back from a negative to positive character.
To me...the leap may just be an excuse to bring more angst and chaos in Michi's life.

The best part was Ayesha was negative.. nothing happens to her... she tries to commit suicide, she doesn't even get mildly injured and is worse then before...

She gets positive and then killed!!! What kind of message is this creatives???

I guess ever since Michi rose to fame, creatives have been using them as their trump card and become lazy about all other characters.

agreed. before milnd prachi married there was much better story about ayesha, neev, pranay, niharika, prach's dad, ayesha's mom, alap, sukruti etc. aftr michi married, its all just michi.

Ditto, I feel the same way.
I still hope they will retain some of the family members, Kayamath would not be the same without them. Am feeling disappinted because of the leap and the introduction of the new family, they are shelving most if not all the Shah-Mishra Family. But am not surprised..I expected this to happen.
