We're guessing you haven't ever seen Sanjeeda Sheikh like this.
And why not, after all, television soaps usually like their daughters and bahus to be dressed in nine-yards or salwar kameezes. But Sanjeeda insists she's not a safe dresser in real life. "I'm very modern when it comes to dressing in real life. TV doesn't explore you that way because the audience won't accept you then. But in real life, I like wearing everything from dresses to skirts to jeans," she says with a smile.
Sanjeeda is really excited these days. Reason? Well, the pretty actress is upbeat about appearing on-screen once more with beau Aamir Ali after emerging winners in the reality dance show Nach Baliye this year. The couple had done a cameo in Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil after that but it's after a long time that she will be seen doing a full-fledged role in Kya Dill Mein Hai on 9X which has Aamir Ali as the main lead opposite Abigail already. "People have liked us together earlier and hopefully, this magic will continue on this show as well," says Sanjeeda. So did she choose to do the show only because of Aamir's presence? "That and also because it's a good show and I have a good role," Sanjeeda says.
The actress is playing a strong-headed lawyer Naina Oberoi in the show. "She's someone who hates people committing crimes for passion," says Sanjeeda. She adds that after Kayamath where her role was grey, she was waiting to play a strong positive role and she got a chance with Kya Dill... And since there's Abigail too in the show, is there a possibility of a love triangle there? "Wait and watch!" she laughs and then adds, "You never know. I think after Nach Baliye, people want to see us together. Our chemistry really came across in that," she says. And what does she think of Aamir, is he a better dancer or a better actor? "He's a combo of both!" she says. Spoken like a true smitten girlfriend!
It's still time for wedding bells to ring as Sanjeeda says they both are very busy with work. "But it will happen soon," she says with a smile. It was Aamir's birthday recently, what did she get him? "It's too personal!" she laughs.
