Kawach- A shield from the evil spirits! The show has finally gone on air this weekend and here we are with a short review of the show.
The show is surely not for those with a weak heart. Some scenes can shake you to the core. During one moment everything is normal and light-hearted, a happy family that celebrates the wedding of their children and in the next moment there is an evil spirit who is performing black magic to keep the two away from each other.
Ekta Kapoor knows how to keep the viewers on the edge of their seats. The very first scene of the show will give you goosebumps, the way the car crash has been shown in the show, goodness no one can forget that scary image for days! The painting that changes it's colour will leave you shocked. And then when we think that it is the bride who is being possessed by the spirit, it turns out to be the groom instead!
The only confusion is that if Manjulika (Mahek Chahal) is a ghost who can be seen by Paridhi only (Mona Singh), then how can she be present for their sangeet? She will be dancing with Rajbeer (Vivek) in front of everyone and his family doesn't recognise her? This is something really confusing.
Apart from this, the reaction of other characters like Rajbeer's Dadi and his uncle when they see the painting changing colours automatically is fair enough to make you believe that it happened. The setup of the Haunter Haveli' is also scary enough to give you the horror feeling.
Special mention to the visual effects team. They have very successfully instilled the feeling of spookiness in the scenes. Mona Singh and Vivek Dahiya's new pair is something fresh to look out for and we can for sure expect some stupendous performance by Mona Singh in the coming episodes. It is Vivek Dahiya's first show as a lead, he has done a quiet good job in the first week and he can become a rising star with this role. Mehak, is looking amazing as a ghost, she is a sexy ghost indeed and her expressions are apt.
The only thing is instead of using the background score of the legendary film Karz' by Subhash Ghai, Balaji Telefilms could surely come up with the background score by themselves. The score they had zeroed down in case of their 2010 series Pyaar Ki Yeh Ek Kahaani was fabulous and it would not have done much harm if such a thing was repeated in case of Kawach as well.
All in all, the show is a must try but only for those who can bear all this horror and be able to deal with the extremely horror scenes in the show. Because this is just the start, things will get scarier in future!
