KBC News - The week that was... |
All the action from week twelve of KBC. Week twelve involved a whole lot of excitement and not just for the ten contestants lucky enough to actually reach KBC. Shah Rukh launched K.I.S.S. so that all his home viewers could win 1 lakh rupees on every question that was put forth to the Hot Seat Contestant. And if that wasn't enough, we also witnessed one of the best young Hot Seat contestant accumulate a good sum of money. Rahul Kamdar, 21, from Pune resumed on Monday night with 40,000 rupees already in his kitty. Slowly working through the questions, he won 12, 50,000 rupees. However, not sure about the next question, Kamdar decided to leave the game much to everyone's disappointment on the sets. Well-mannered, intelligent and very sensible for his age, Rahul was a treat to watch. He even left King Khan mesmerized – no wonder he took off his watch and gifted it to him! Next on the hot seat on Monday night was Pooja Agarwal from Kolkata. She had to won 5000 rupees on Monday night. Pooja resumed play on Tuesday night. Having prepared for over a year for KBC, Agarwal seemed quite prepared and knew almost all the answers. But soon her luck seemed to run out. She used four lifelines in four consecutive questions and sadly for her she chose the wrong answer for Q.11 and lost half her winnings. Finally she had to settle for 6, 40,000 rupees. Taking Pooja's place was the jovial and fun loving T. Paresh from Delhi who had collected 3, 000 rupees on Tuesday night. Paresh continued playing on Wednesday night and managed to reach 3, 20,000 rupees but had lost all his lifelines by then. Unsure about the next answer and with no life line left, he decided to take a risk and decided on an answer but then suddenly changed his mind and froze on another answer. And luckily for him this change in heart proved lucky thereby winning him 6, 40,000 rupees. The next question was again a blinder and completely unaware of the answer he decided to take another wild guess – largely because he was in one of the safest position in the game – but this time it didn't work out for him. The game ended with T. Paresh taking back 6, 40,000 rupees. Next on the Hot Seat on Wednesday night was Nishant Gupta also from Delhi. He reached 3,000 rupees by close of play. Playing well Nishant worked his way through the questions on Thursday night. Somewhere in the middle of the game, Gupta began to find the question tough and he began losing his lifelines at repeated intervals. With one lifeline still available he reached the question worth 25 lakh rupees. Almost close to freezing on an answer, he changed his mind and decided to flip the question at the last moment. And for the second time in the week a change in mind seemed to work in the contestant's favour, as the answer that Nishant was going to select was the wrong one. And the icing on the cake was that the new question that came his way, he knew very well thereby winning the 25 lakh rupees. However, on the flip side the game ended for Nishant at the next question as he wasn't sure and didn't want to risk losing a large sum of money and rightly so! We now have Mumukshu Mohanty from Banglore on the Hot Seat. Hopefully the last week of KBC will prove to be lucky for her… We'll just have to wait and see…. Friday, April 13, 2007 |
