Kasturi cast walks out of sets to protest against Karan Patel's tardiness
The sets of Balaji's Kasturi saw some high drama on Saturday night. According to sources, the female cast of the Star Plus show staged a walkout at around 1.30 am after waiting for the lead actor Karan Patel (who plays Bobby) to turn up.
Among those who left the sets in a huff were Shubhangi Atre (who essays the title role), Rupa Ganguly, Priya Arya and supporting actors Madhurima, Sai and Shimona. A source reveals that the actors were fed up of Karan arriving late on the sets and wanted to make a point.
Endless hours
An actress on conditions of anonymity reveals, "This isn't the first time Karan has come late. He always makes everyone wait on the sets for hours. This time around everyone lost their patience and stormed out."
Balaji head honcho Ekta Kapoor decided to take matters in her hands and gave Karan an earful for behaving in such a manner. She also visited the Kasturi sets to make sure such an incident was not repeated.
Another actress reveals that apart from coming late, Karan would often pass derogatory remarks about his co-stars. "He would joke and laugh when a scene was on and make the women uncomfortable. Everyone was quite fed up of his behaviour. It is only because of Ekta's intervention that matters seem to have become better."
Despite repeated attempts, Karan was unavailable for comment.
