PART - 21 Kasturi reaches home from the restaurant. She is very sad at the turn of events in her life and she keeps wondering how Robbie would feel after realizing that she has left. On entering the house she is confronted by the following conversation in the living room.
Alka : Aji bhagwaan ka shukr hai, jo phir yeh rishta hamare haath lagaa. Nahin toh, aaj kal ke zamaane mei aisa kahin hota hai??? Mei unke saamne itna gidgidaayi, royi, tab jaake unhone haan kahi. Ab der mat keejiye.
Everybody in the house is solemn. Kaushalya and Beeji are looking very glum. Alka sees Kasturi enter the house.
Alka : Lo, aa gayi aapki laado! Ek baar isse bhi bataa deejiye aur jhat se byaah kar deejiye.
Kasturi is shocked to hear the word 'byaah' and looks questioningly at her mom and dad. They do not answer and so Alka will reply in their stead
Alka : Tumhaari kismat ka kya kehna Kasturi!! Hamesha jagmagaa uthta hai. Arre, Goel saab phir se tumhaare saath shaadi karne ke liye raazi ho gaye!
(Goel is the 60 year old man, whom Alka had first suggested. I did not remember his name, hence named him Goel)
Kasturi is horrified and looks at her shocked!!!
Alka continues : Pehle toh unhone saaf inkaar kar diyaa. Phir, meine aur tumhaare chachaji ne unhe bahut samjhaaya aur vinati ki, toh woh maan gaye! JP bhai saahab, ab toh jaldi-jaldi shaadi kaa muhurat nikalva leejiye.
Kasturi looks at her father helplessly but he does not look at her.
Alka : Jab tak Kasturi ko iss ghar se vidaa nahi karoge, baaki do betiyon ke shaadi ke baare mei toh sochna hi bekaar hai! Agar ab ki baar yeh rishta haath se nikal gayaa, toh phir kabhi koi nahi aayega. Kasturi is desperately looking for some help from somewhere but even Kaushalya and Beeji are just standing there unable to do anything. Finally Dadaji says to JP
Dadaji : Jai Prakash, jo alka keh rahi hai woh baat bhi sochne laayak hai. Aakhir Kasturi apni poori zindagi akeli nahi bitaa sakti hai. Usse kisi na kisi kaa sahaara toh chahiye hoga. Tum aur mei hamesha ke liye toh zinda nahi rahenge na??
JP : Jee Bauji, mujhe thoda sochne ka waqt dee jiye.
When Kasturi hears this, she goes away to her room very hurt and sad. She is quite shocked that her dad did not reject the idea outright. That night neither Kasturi nor Robbie can sleep. Like many nights, they spend that night too thinking about each other.
Next day, Navneet goes to meet Sameer. Its almost 3 weeks since he helped her but Navneet could not make herself to go and thank him. Finally she makes the attempt. She reaches his boutique.
Navneet : Hello Sameer.
Sameer is surprised and very happy to note that Navneet has not gone back to dressing in her old style and is actually following his dressing suggestions.
Sameer : Arre Navneet tum! Kaise aana hua?
Navneet : Woh..... woh mei bahut dinon se soch rahi thi yahaan aane ke baare mei, lekin time hi nahi milaa. Woh.... Thanks!
Sameer : Kis baat ke liye?
Navneet (points to herself from top to bottom and says) : Iss ke liye
Sameer : Arre woh! Please, thanks bolne ki koi zaroorat nahi. Mei toh sirf tumhaari thodi madad karna chahta tha.
Navneet : Ussi madad ke liye shukriya. Aur ek cheez ke liye meine tumhe aaj tak thanks nahi bola usske liye bhi mei aaj tumhe thanks kehna chahti hun.
Sameer (surprised) : Kaun si baat??
Navneet : Mere bauji ko tumhaare boutique mei naukri dene ke liye. Tumhe nahi maaloom, uss samay mere bauji koh iss naukri ki kitni zaroorat thi! Tum nahi hote toh na jaane hamaara kya hota!!!
Sameer : Uske liye toh tumhe apni Kasturi didi koh thanks kehna chahiye, Unhi ke wajah se..........
He suddenly realizes that he spoke more than he intended too and looks shocked! Navneet is very surprised.
Navneet : Kasturi didi ki wajah se????
Sameer (fumbles) : Nahi, nahi, mei toh kuch aur hi bol raha tha......
Seeing him all nervous, Navneet gets very suspicious and forces him to tell the truth. Sameer tries to resist a lot, but finally has to give in. He tells Navneet everything about how Robbie Sabharwal found about their fathers being friends and offered him huge contracts from a different company if he gives JP a job etc...
Sameer : Mei aur mere pitaji, tumhaare bauji ki madad toh karna chahte the, lekin hamare paas unhe naukri pe rakhne ke liye paise nahi the. Agar Robbie mere boutique koh contracts nahi dilwaate, toh mei toh kuch bhi nahi kar paata. Iss liye mei tumhaare thanks ke kaabil nahi hun. Tumhe toh thanks Robbie Sabharwal ko kehnaa chahiye. Aur unhone yeh sab tumhaari didi ke liye kiyaa. Unhone tumhaare parivaar ki jo beizzati ki, woh dard unhe jeene nahi de raha tha, aur woh apni galti sudharne ki koshish kar rahe the! Woh tumhaari didi se behad pyaar karte hai.
Navneet is shocked and amazed to hear this. She thanks Sameer for letting her know the truth and heads back home. While coming back she is thinking over all that Sameer said. She is very happy to note that Robbie made an attempt to help her family out and is also happy to note that he still loved her sister. She keeps wondering if she should share this information with Kasturi or not. Finally decides to keep it a secret for the time being.
That day after office closing when Kasturi comes to the bus stop, she immediately looks in the direction of Robbie's car but is surprised to note that he and his car are not present at their usual place. She wonders why he is not there. First she thinks that maybe he is late and keeps looking for him. Soon her bus arrives and still no Robbie. She looks one final time for him and gets into the bus. Through out the journey she wonders why he did not come. Next day too the same thing happens. No Robbie waiting for her at the bus stop. Kasturi does not understand and feels a little apprehensive that maybe he fell sick and regrets her actions of ignoring him.
Yet another day at work and she still does not see him and her apprehension level has really reached a high. She starts worrying about him and desperately wants to know if he is alright or not! But she does not want to call him or his family. She will be struggling with these thoughts.
Meanwhile Robbie's album which was released 3 days ago, will become a huge huge super duper hit!!! People will be going crazy for his album!!!!! and it will be slowly climbing up the bestseller charts.
That night during the evening news, the news reader will mention the super success of Robbie's new album and will read that Robbie Sabharwal has met with an accident and has been admitted to Jaslok Hospital!!!! Kasturi's heart will leap into her mouth. For a few seonds she will loose her bearings. With great difficulty she will act normal till she can get to her room. Once in her room, she will rush to her phone and call Divya.
Divya : Hello
Kasturi : Divya...
Divya : Kasturi....
Kasturi : Haan Divya mei. Woh abhi abhi meine news mei sunaa.... tumhaare bhaiyya...........
Divya : Haan Kasturi, Bhaiyya kaa accident ho gayaa
Kasturi's heart is beating wildly : Woh, theek toh hai na???
Divya : Haan, ab woh theek hai. Chot toh zyaada nahi aayi, lekin jo sadmaa unhe pahuncha hai, pataa nahi woh uss se kab baahar aayenge!!! (and she starts to cry)
Kasturi : Divya, kaun sa sadma, kya bol rahi ho tum?
Divya (weeping badly) : Kasturi, parso subah meri behen Shivani ki death ho gayi thi!!!!!!!
Kasturi listens to Divya shocked!!!!
