I had read in one of the interviews Ekta had given before launching Kasturi. She had said that this story is a salutation to middle class. But todays episode was a humiliation to middle class. She has portrayed a middle class family in such a bad light when they are faced with a problem. It is far from reality. Have anyone heard about a grandfather disowning his son and grandchildren. I think Ekta doesnot have any idea of middle class, though most of her viewers are middle class. She should just stick to dysfunctional high class families. It suits her better. I think tomorrows episode of suicide is the limit. I dont think any couple would end their life because of their daughters failed love affair. It is ridiculous and humiliating.

with some extend u r rite.. but dhis family belongs orthodox culture.. dhy don't even think dht "bahu-beti" can work outside of d house.. & dhis "love marrige" cheptar..is unbelieveable for dhm...

Infact kasturi knows her limits... she trys lots to tell Robbie but dhis man doesn't know anything about d world..he just thinks wht i do is d world 4 me.. becuz M ahead of dhis world.."A super power"..

from the beginning of the story kasturi's family is shown as a very orthodox family with their values and traditions nad so proud of their heritage..the grand dad is the only one to take decision and its his final word that is taken into consideration and respected..

so much strict that kasturi should do more higher education but get married and settle down..girls are not allowed to go for work...but still kasturi defies this law and with the support of her family did succeed..she fell in love which is not allowed at all in her family..arrange marriage is a tradition and it must be followed..remember her dadi toldher that her dada disown her own daughter for falling in love and got married...but still once more kasturi broke that tradition and fell in love with robbie a rich guy ...

so the moral of the story of kasturi's family is their self-respect , dignity and family heritage are more precious to them..so disowning his son and family comes natural for the head of the family to protect the dignity of the other members he will do it with no feelings or emotions attached...

may be i'm mistaken but perhaps it does exist in real life such families who have such strong family traditions and values and who will protect them at any cost though they have to disown a family member..as i said before for a middle class family that heritage and values they have for yrs are more valuable for them than money or status in the society..

Now its time to have a reality check.

it hard bt true dat even now in middle class families luv is not accepted.luv marriages are looked down. Pik up the news papers u ll go thru many instances where the couples are discarded from the community just coz they had a luv marriage. Remember a recent news where a muslim guy married a hindu girl n there were hell lot of problem from them.Its sad bt true dat v still need to go a long way.its the ground reality which exists in 90% middle class families. In most of the situation one has to choose b/w luv n family leading to drastic steps like sucide n stuff.

I wud disgree on the point shown in the serial dat middle class ppl can do nething for money.dats absolutely wrong majority of the middle class ppl hav strong character and moral value. so calling them greedy is absolutely ridiculous.

oh yes, like other members before me have said, love marriage is def. STILL looked down upon, and most of the times, the couple in question have to choose between love and family.

it's like parents don't BELIEVE that the kids can make the RIGHT choice in terms of their Life Partner....argh!

or maybe it's indirectly like "aha! i didnt get to do a luv marriage and neither can you!" muahahahaha.... 😆 😆 😆 ok ok, jkz...(im in an odd mood right now 😆 )

well if u guys notice that divorced rate among love marrige couples are more than arranged marriage . i am not saying all but most of parents when chose someone for thier daughter or son ask consent from thier children and they also check guy or girls's background which a person doesn't really pay attention in love marraige so result guy family not accepting girl and girl's family not accepting the realtion. that is what i think. but if u find someone and think that that is the one then u should ask for parents consent too and give them liberty to check guy's background and stuff so then ur marrige can be arranged cum love marraige which good for everyone ur family is happy and u too.

ok i have heard that too...but exactly HOW do they figure that out? that most divorces happen in love marriages? it amuses me how they work this out, do they go around to EVERY divorce case and give the couple a survey to complete? 😆

you know one thing in love marriages fallin apart is since the parents don't like it, they won't help the kids sort their mistakes out. (such stupidness) in an arranged marriage, there are also fights, but the parents help sort stuff out there. seomtimes u need the opinion/help of a third person to sort out issues...

but yes, it is nice to get parental consent.

Yeah i guess this is kind ov disrespectfull to middle class but i mean atleast we all know dat kasturi is innocent so we dont think bad ov d middle class only ykno, in d serial robbie, Allaaana, Devika, Nikhil etc do. We are being showed that d mddle class hold alot ov respect...

All said and done, Indian middle class is not like this anymore!!! She is showing trash 😡.
People have opened up unbelievably!!. And I think it is the middle class that has become very progressive thinking. And it is the middle class that always had a strong family support system and are still having it.

Grandfather disowning, parents committing suicide..., what is she trying to show??

And lets suppose even if this is happening in the real world, why can't she NOT SHOW it???? Why can't she show some positive energy in the household??? Why can't she for a change show the elders in the household to be more intelligent and acceptable???

lets say disowning of kasturi's family from the rest of the extended family was a possibility, but does Ekta really think parents will commite suicide cos their daughter disgraced their name. even in a middle class family where people are very conservative these things do not happen. i'm not saying people don't commite suicide in this world, but it doesn't happen like this, where they are sitting about discussing it like they are discussing what they are going to have for dinner. what horribel example to give for the younger generation which is mainly the set who watch kasturi.
