Previously on Kasturi:
Kasturi learns about her father's disease and makes up her mind to get married. She goes to give an interview, only to learn that the post has already been filled. She bursts into Nikhil's office (Yep, learnt his name. He is the owner of the place) and immediately ticks him off but is appointed by Pooja (Played by Amita, Vishakha of KZK and Bawri of KSBKBT.) Kasturi is a bit shocked but is really happy, nonetheless.
Kasturi as of April 25th, 2007
Short Update:
- Nikhil asks Pooja why she appointed Kasturi.
- Kasturi is overjoyed.
- At her house, preparations are in full swing.
- Navneet and Tanu ask Kasturi why she agreed to marriage; Kasturi explains.
- Girish and Kasturi talk; Girish realizes that Kasturi is more eduated than him but is still happy, nonetheless.š
- Ajay's would-be fiance is Pooja who has an affair with her boss.
- Kasturi confused whether she should tell Ajay about Pooja's reality.
- Pooja plots to sack Kasturi.
Nikhil's Office
Nikhil asks Pooja why she appointed Kasturi, without studying her qualifications etc. Pooja answers Kasturi isn't beautiful and that is her biggest qualification. Nikhil looks at her, as if to say "womenā¦" Pooja smiles gleefully.
Outside Kasturi is excited. As soon as she gets on the staircase, she calls Sia (or Tia, or Pia, if you get my wind) and tells her she's got the job. Sia gets more excited and asks Kasturi when she will be able to meet Robbie Something-Or-The-Other. Kasturi tells her soon enoughā¦after she meets him. Kasturi tells Sia that she has to go buy some stuff. She hangs up.
Kasturi's house
On her way to her house, Kasturi is really happy. She's jumping up and down, as if Christmas has come really early! She gives something to a vagabond and bounces her way homeā¦
At her house, Bhuaji tells Kaushalya to take the sweets she bought in front of the suitors. She instructs Kaushalya to serve it in some tray she gave her before. Poor Kaushalya just nods her head, not daring to argue.
On the breakfast table, Navneet and Tanu are having a talk of their own. Tanu asks Navneet why Kasturi agreed to marriage, because she wanted to study first. Just as Navneet is about to answer, cheerful Kasturi comes inside, bringing sweets. This guy with glasses (Name, anyone?) comments when people go through misery, they smile and go crazy so, he hopes nothing like that happens with Kasturi. Kasturi tells him to shut up and eat jalebi. Next, she goes to someone she calls "Bhaiyu" and gives him the sweets. He asks her what the sweets are for. Kasturi tells him it's because she passedā¦Bhaiyu asks her if it's because she passed or because she's leaving them. Kasturi repeats it's because she passed. He takes the sweets and rushes of to where he was going. Kasturi offers the sweets to Navneet and Tanu, none of whom really look interested in eating any sweets at the moment. They both leave but Kasturi follows them into their room.
Tanu is sitting on the bed, cross with Kasturi, while Navneet stands, in dismay. Kasturi asks them what is wrongā¦Tanu asks her why she agreed to marriage without telling them first. Navneet chirps in that today is her rokka (pre-engagement ceremony) and she can't believe it. Tanu resumes her speech that their father will get them married in a short period of time now that Kasturi's being married and like her, their dreams will be broken. Kasturi asks her who filled her eyes with dreams... Their father did so can't they make a little compromise with life instead of breaking their father's heart? She explains that there are a lot of middle-class people who dream but they have to look at the reality first. Kasturi continues her marriage is one clause of life where one on side are her dreams and on the other is her family so, she chose her family because that's what holds the foremost priority to her but yet if they feel that she is wrong thenā¦Navneet and Tanu tell her she's right and they all have a big teddy bear hug. Kasturi tells the two to get ready because the ceremony is about to start.
Main Hall
Lalaji calls for Kaushalya but the old dude (Akshay Kumar's fanatic's husband) tells him the suitors are there. The suitors sit on the couches. Alka asks Girish's mother about Pooja. Her mother tells Alka that she'll be coming there soon. She asks about Kasturi. Kaushalya tells her that Kasturi is getting ready. She asks Tanu to tell Kasturi to come down but Alka intervenes and offers to bring Kasturi instead.
Kasturi's room
Alka tells Kasturi she's looking beautiful and asks her about the saree she bought. She starts helping Kasturi and tells her that the boy is really nice and pleads with her not to refuse the proposal.
Main Hall
Kasturi is brought downstairs by her "homies" ā which consist of Navneet, Tanu, Alka and Sia. Lalaji introduces her to the rest of the family. Girish's mother asks Kasturi how educated she is. Her husband intervenes and tells her questions can be answered later. He tells her to let her talk to Girish first. Lalaji agrees and asks Kasturi to give him a tour of the house. Kaushalya looks pleased. Alka offers to bring tea.
Some room
They go into a room and Girish tells her "nice room". She thanks him. She asks him to sit down and offers to make tea. He tells her that he'll make it. She is about to argue but agrees anyways. Girish tells her Beeji told him that Kasturi is 10th failā¦He reveals that he is 12th failā¦Naturally, Kasturi is shocked. Kasturi corrects him that she's graduate. Girish is a bit upset but Kasturi tells him that he can consider her 10th fail if he wantsā¦Girish tells her that now he can brag to his friends that she is graduate...He asks her about her opinion on the marriage. Kasturi simply smilesā¦Alka and Bhuaji are eavesdropping on them. Bhuaji bursts out laughing and asks Alka whether she was able to hear anything. Alka shakes her head. Bhuaji tells her she can't hear because she's tried listening too, especially to Alka's room but is unable to do so. Bhuaji goes inside and tells Kasturi to talk after...Alka tells her that Pooja is downstairs so they should come down as well. Girish tells her to drink tea.
Main Hall
They both come down; Kaushalya looks at them and smiles knowingly. Alka tells her about Pooja. Alka and Kasturi's brother introduce Kasturi to Pooja. Surprise surprise, she is Nikhil's girlfriend! Pooja smiles, while Kasturi wonders what is going on. Her brother, presumably Ajay, introduces them to each other. Kasturi thinks about the encounter in the office. Pooja says that she must be shy to talk in front of her so he can talk to her in private...Ajay agrees. Kasturi is about to go but Pooja tells her that she likes herā¦
Near the stairs
Ajay asks Kasturi about Pooja but before Kasturi can answer, the annoying son of Alka, Neeraj, exclaims "Chawla Honeymoon Travels". He tells them he's already thought of two couples and the concept of the movie. Ajay tackles Neeraj while Kasturi wonders whether or not she should tell Ajay about Pooja. Ajay asks her the same question again. Kasturi says Pooja likes someone else. Ajay tells her it was in the past and Pooja's told her all about it. He adds that trust is the foundation of any relationship and he believes there is trust in their relation. Pooja comes there and asks him how long it will take them. Ajay says he was telling Kasturi about her honest confession. Pooja tells the two everyone downstairs is waiting for them. Ajay leaves. Pooja asks Kasturi whether she approves of her or not. Kasturi tells Pooja that Ajay likes her a lot. Pooja says no one knows about her job so they can both hide each others secret. They both head downstairs.
Main Hall
Downstairs everyone is waiting for them. Pooja's mother asks if they've befriended each other. Pooja lies they are like peaches and cream. Kasturi nods. They start finishing the rituals of the ceremony. Lalaji asks Kaushalya to sing. Kaushalya sings "Charka mere rang lal". It's actually kind of sweet. The song is juxtaposed with video clips of the moments Kaushalya and Lalaji shared. Alka congratulates Pooja's mother and exclaims to fix the date of the marriage and the rest of the details. Girish's father says they don't have to exchange anything but they can share the expense of the wedding. Lalaji says that he will take the expense of the entire wedding. Girish's father is about to protest but Lalaji asks him to fulfill his dreamsā¦Alka intervenes the marriage must be done with full style. Dadiji asks Girish whether he watches movies..Girish tells her that he doesā¦She asks him for a favor, that when he takes Kasturi to see a movie, he must bring her along. Girish agrees.
Girish's father gets a call and tells them that in the company, for which Ajay works, its owner is his friend and he has given him promotion. Alka tells Kasturi that now that Ajay has come on line, the rest of the brothers will slowly go closer to success as well. Kasturi smiles. Girish's mother tells her not to worry about Kasturi. They are about to leave. Girish bids adieu but hands her a letter and asks her to call. Pooja asks him if he wants to become "ghar-jamai". Pooja tells Kasturi that they'll meet each other in office: their dirty little secret.
Tanu & Navneet's room
Tanu comments on Girish's dressing style ā she says it's nice. Navneet says that his muscles were nice and asks Kasturi whether Girish is interested in sportsā¦Tanu says they are going to get married, not play kabadi. Kasturi says there at it again. Tanu apologizes. Kasturi asks them whether they like Pooja. Tanu says she likes her because she is modern and her dressing style is fab. She asks them if they checked her makeup. Tanu and Navneet get into a playful fight while Kasturi wonders whether she should tell Ajay about Pooja's affairā¦
Nikhil's Office
Pooja goes into Nikhil's office and throws her arms around him. Pooja sees a check worth 1 crore. Nikhil tells her the granny has gone senile. He asks her about her rokka. She tells him that her sister-in-law's name is Kasturi. Nikhil says that Kasturi must know about them. Pooja tells him she does know but she saw Kasturi's picture outside and made a story. Nikhil asks Pooja why she marrying Ajay. Pooja says it's because he is really novice. She tells him that Kasturi has to get out of the job. Nikhil tells her that Devika has already got her resume and Kasturi's salary has been sanctioned. Pooja remembers that it's a party and Kasturi must go: If she doesn't go, then she looses her job and if she goes, even then she'll loose her job.
