When I mentioned most illogical stuff I feel current track between Komolika and Prerna qualifies my own definition and it can be different for you. Unfortunately or fortunately this is getting TRPs too. It may change in future because Komolika has given a break to her plan for killing spree it seems and we have a new entry in the show.
Now that conversation keeps on turning to the past instead of focusing on present all the time.. I think that illogical marriage also fetched good TRPs at that time and later it fluctuated with lowest TRPs ever reported post the track end. Showing lovers together at least for sometime would have been the most logical thing for the makers but it didn't work either so makers got Komolika in action with her crazy plans and it seems to have clicked with the audience considering TRPs as parameter for audience preference. So my observation holds even for that time to certain extent.
And I am no position to provide any explanations because I am not equiped to give verdicts but I do have some interpretations and POVs which I share. Thats why I clearly mentioned it as an observation and did not make any attempt to say that I am providing any explanation.
See im not talking about individual POVs and definitions because individual opinions cannot become the gauge for defining something as quantitative as trps. The trp last week was 2.2. That cannot change according to my individual perception. Similarly, 2.3, 2.5, and 3 are trps more than 2.2 while 2.1, 2, 1.9 and 1.8 are lesser are also facts, not subject to perceptions. Fair enough?
Right so combining that with your observations regarding what gets trps, let's talk about that. See, no one can deny that the show was always illogical. I will go a step further and say itv, in its very nature of daily dramas, survives by showing illogical things. Now let us not even indulge in a discussion of what is more illogical, because as I already said that's upto individual perception. So without bringing that in, when you say that illogical tracks bring trps, it's impossible to quantitatively judge that because simply put in the small pool of audience that is this forum, the perception of what is most illogical and therefore highest trp gainer will differ. How then, can that be used to judge a pool as wide as a pan india trp audience? How can we say that the more illogical the track, the more the trps, when we among the 200 or so members in this forum ourselves cannot reach a consensus on WHAT qualifies as MOST illogical?
Now let's look as some other facts.
This show is a love story of two individuals who are destined to never meet, as advertised by the PH. They are the lead couple of the show : fact
There are principle negative characters, or kasautii's which keep coming and going in their lives, each of which separate them: fact.
Now when you put these two facts together with a quantitatively definable trp, things become more interesting and easier to understand. That is to stay, the trps are the highest when the story revolves around the lead couple and there's enough drama (illogical for sure) AROUND them and ABOUT them. Not the ML or the FL alone, but them as a couple. Irrespective of whether or not they hold hands or make gooey eyes at each other in a particular episode or episodes. And also then, it's not upto individual observations, opinions and perceptions, because comparing major tracks of the show till date with the average trps during their course, it basically speaks for itself.
Maybe this way, we can all stop peddling individual opinions as the law of the land and lay this trp debate to rest once and for all.
