Well certainly Ekta do have a flare in getting a good script for a start off and once the audience feel attached the storyline dwell off the cause. Be it Balika Vadhu or YHM, BV aimed for the spirit of a young girl aspiring for studies being tied up in a knot and how her life changes after it. There was a vast focus on both the characters ML and FL which was really a best shot but after the 7 years leap when Jagdish was in love with Gauri it shifted sides with what actual plot should be for a show like that. In fact during the childhood period of two, a lot more nuance was aired but it was a parcel of boons and flaws.
YHM started off with a goal of how two differently broken people come together for the love of child. One who can not bear a child but has got an instinct sentimental attachment to Ruhi, who was actually a link between Raman and Ishita. Raman who despised woman in the beginning of the show because of the infidelity he endured comes to the point of understanding her and falling. But as always the series stretched for some extreme years until the trp kissed it's lowest. And the rubbish plotting of Ruhi-Pihu and Alia track shouldn't be brought to highlight; everything just changes. I am starting to believe every 7 years leap is a trap for audience by EK and obviously filled with wrecking negativity and senseless tracks.
Currently, EK is keen on Webshows and Alt Balaji. She is well versed with what does an online viewer want and maintained the versatility of her shows well. On a partially similar concept as YHM, her webshow casting Shweta Tiwari, a single mother falling in love with another single father of three. It's a beautiful story as per IMDB rating but I have not much idea about it right now. She has brought realistic attributes and events to this series and coming across this contrasts my thoughts on her. All in all, she is a good businesswoman. She knows what to sell and where to. Online audience is mostly the youth who are welcoming towards open minded mentality and ITV audience is mostly girl-next-door, mother's and neighborhood auntie's who aim to simply get themselves a me time and a break from homely works; they are least bothered about storyline at times but manage to feel connected with characters through acting skills basically. Sometimes laughing on make-up, dressing sense, bloomers (something we too do) and get over that a few minutes later or end up bashing for days sitting with their friends over coffee/tea. That's how shows like this gets trp. And we can't help it nor should we be bothered of. If one is irritated quit watching.
