Chota tha but then it was cute too...absolutely loved the whole family moment of the three of them with the elders watching over them happily.... Glad to see Veena's fears laid to rest and her accepting Rishabh and Kukki wholeheartedly.... And then the short but sweet romantic moment btw Rishabh and Prerna was awesome.... The way she can share all her fears with him and the way he consoles and reassures her shows how deep their bond has become... And now The Rishabh Bajaj is after the nobody Naveen as he dared to upset his love....oh how eagerly I'm waiting to see when that stupid Naveen is going to give the one chance that Rishabh is waiting for ....jaldi karo bhaaya aur khudki barbaadi ka darwazza kholo.... Chapter 7

‘Prerna.. Prerna…’

Veena entered her daughter’s room calling out her name to wake her up; but she stopped at the door for a minute to adore the sight in front of her.

Kukki was wrapped to Prerna like a grapevine and her mouth was agape, she looked an angel in her sleep, Veena noticed that her own daughter had a small peaceful smile on her face as she slept. She quietly walked to Prerna’s side and patted her gently on her shoulder

‘Get up Priyu… you’ll get late for college..’

She said in a soft voice in order to not disturb Kukki from her sleep as well, but she didn’t know that Kukki was a light sleeper and instead of Prerna, she woke up to Veena’s calls

‘Good morning Nani Maa…’

Kukki said in a sleepy voice as she rubbed her eyes, Veena smiled at her and caressed her hair

‘Good morning beta.. neend aache se aai…?’

‘Haaan…’

Kukki nodded her head vigorously which made Veena chuckle at her excitement, but she frowned when she realised that Prerna hadn’t woken up yet

‘Prerna…utho.. late ho raha hai college ke liye..’

Now that Kukki was already awake Veena said in her usual stern tone which finally made Prerna open her eyes. She frowned at her mother

‘Kya maa.. roz subah aa jate ho neend kharab karne…’

‘Toh khud kyun nahi uth jati waqt pe??’

‘Mujhe meri neend bohut pyaari hai..’

‘Tumse toh Kukki better hai, dekho apne aap jaag gai..’

Prerna turned to Kukki who was giggling while enjoying this conversation, she narrowed her eyes at Kukki before she started tickling her

‘Mujhe daant pad rahi hai toh bada maza aa raha hai??’

Prerna and Kukki’s laughter kept echoing in the room until Veena stopped their game

‘Time out… Prerna tumhe college jana hai, jao jaldi se taiyaar ho jao.. aur kukki aap humare saath chalo hum aapko bhi taiyaar kar dete hain…’

Prerna sulked at the mention of her college, she wanted to spend the entire day with Kukki but Veena was not ready to give in to her demand

‘You have a guest lecture today and you have to go.. chaliye toh bas uss ek lecture ke baad wapas aa jana .. aur vaise bhi kukki ke saath toh tum bohut time Spend kar chuki ho.. abh hume bhi usske saath time spend karne do…’

‘Haan Mamma… I’ll stay with Nani Maa…’

Kukki assures Prerna and when neither of them got convinced to let her bunk college she got ready and left the house in a sour mood.

As soon as Prerna boarded a bus to her college she called Rishabh, she was surprised that he hadn’t called her since morning. He answered the call almost immediately

‘Good morning…’

She said in her phone cheerfully, by just listening to her voice a big smile started forming on Rishabh’s face

‘Mmmm.. you seem very happy today?!’

‘Of course… kal raat maine aur Kukki ne bohut masti ki.. and usske saath itni acchi neend aai… you know humne kya kya kiya....’

She excitedly shared all the details about the Funtime she and kukki had with each other, Rishabh kept grinning as he listened to her tale, though he was really happy that the two of them enjoyed themselves he also felt a little sad that he couldn’t be with them in that moment

‘I wish I would have been there too..’

‘Don’t worry, just a little more time then we will all be together only.. Hamesha..’

Rishabh smiled at her words, he knew she just tried to make him feel better for not being able to share those moments with Kukki and her, but he decided to tease her

‘By the way, where is my daughter? Just one night she stayed with you and already bhul gai mujhe vo?’

‘Hahaha… aisa kuch nahi hai, vo Maa Baba ke sath hai, aaj college main guest lecture hai issliye Maa zabardasti college bhej rahi hai mujhe…’

She complained about her mother and heard Rishabh chuckle at her words.

‘Good, even I don’t want you to neglect your studies just to be with Kukki or me.. waise kis ka lecture hai? Do you have any idea?’

Rishabh’s question made Prerna roll her eyes in irritation, she hated guest lectures and he knew it too well. She always cribbed about how bored she would get while listening to those never ending speeches and staring at the PPTs

‘Hoga koi old and grumpy sa apne success ko over-exaggerate karne wala .. main toh bas yeh ek lecture khatam karke ghar aa jaungi…’

‘Lekin kya pata Shayaad aaj ka lecture itna boring na ho…’

Prerna let out a sarcastic laugh as she got off the bus and walked towards her college

‘Not possible.. sare guest lectures boring hoti hain…’

‘But agar yeh wala nahi hua toh?’

‘Agar aisa hua toh aap jo khaoge main vo karungi..’

‘Okay.. deal..!’

‘Deal.. got to go.. thode der main Call karti hun..’

Prerna cut the call entered her college, she saw her classmates and was about to join them when someone called her name making her halt in her tracks, she turned to see Anurag walking towards her

‘Hi..’

She turned to him and wished him, there was a sudden awkwardness between them as their last encounter had not been a pleasant one

‘Vo.. I wanted to talk about what happened that day..’

‘Anurag please,.. I really don’t want to discuss it, especially here…’

Prerna cut him off even before Anurag had started the topic, though he was surprised by her action but kept mumb, he knew that the place and time was not right to discuss the matter but when he saw her in the college, the first thing he wanted to do was apologise to her. But he respected her decision

‘It’s okay.. I just wanted to say sorry on behalf of my Mom for that day..’

‘It’s not your fault so please don’t apologize.. and like I said, let’s not talk about it right now.. mujhe lecture ke liye late ho raha hai..’

Prerna walked away from there in an irritated mood. She knew that the way she behaved with Anurag was wrong but she couldn’t stop herself from snapping at him. The last thing wanted to do right now was go inside the auditorium to attend the guest lecture but she didn’t have much choice. She knew that her Mum would be mad if she came to know from her college friends about bunking this lecture. She hurriedly started looking a seat for herself, she cursed her luck when she realised that the only empty seat was in the first few rows. However, she sat there and removed her notepad to make notes.

She kept tapping her pen on the pad the entire time while the principal gave them the same old speech and waited for him to call upon their lecturer for the day.

‘You all are Management studies, the most important thing that you guys need to learn to manage is your Time. We have today a very successful businessman who shall be sharing with you his tips and tricks to manage time, he doesn’t need an introduction because his name itself is enough to speak about him, in just two years, this man because a brand in itself, please welcome Mr. Rishabh Bajaj…’

Prerna stopped fidgeting with her pen the minute she heard his name being announced by her Principal, her mouth was agape when she saw him walking on the stage from behind the curtains. It took her a few seconds to recover herself, she didn’t want anyone to notice her reaction but she did know that the man himself had noticed it. She noticed that devilish smirk on his face and now understood why he was so interested in knowing more about this lecture

Rishabh was already behind the curtain when Prerna walked in the auditorium and he thanked their stars that she was seated in the first few rows itself, as soon as he walked on the stage he registered her shocking expressions and wanted to laugh loudly but he composed himself and kept a straight face, he didn’t stop gazing at her and studying her expressions keenly, which kept changing from amusement to anger and then to horror and back to anger in a few seconds

‘Huh.. he could have warned me at least that he is the one coming to college…’

Prerna was angry at Rishabh for hiding this fact from her but then she remembered the deal. But she got distracted when she heard a few girls talk in whisper next to her

‘Oh my god.. he is so hot yaar…aaj tak isske pictures sirf newspapers main dekhi hain.. lekin real life main Toh yeh aur bhi hot hai…’

‘I know… he is over thirty and has a daughter too,. Yet he is so sexy… agar isske daughter ke saath photos nahi dekhe hote toh main pakka believe nahi karti iss baat ko…’

‘God.. aaj toh main lecture pe concentrate karne se rahi…I am just going to drool over him all the time!!’

The two of them giggled and kept ogling Rishabh shamelessly which was making Prerna’s blood boil in anger. She wanted to slap them for thinking about her Rishabh in that way, but when she looked in front and her eyes met Rishabh’s her anger vanished in a matter of seconds. Without breaking their eye contact, he gracefully got to the podium and started his speech

‘Thank you everyone.. ahh.. I know that most of you have already come with a mindset that this is going to be like of those boring lectures where old and grumpy people who over-exaggerate their success come usually play PPTs and give long speeches…’

He paused for a minute as everyone laughed to his words, expect Prerna who frowned at him for mocking her, but he smirked as he continued

‘But I’ll try not to make this one a boring lecture.. well, like sir said, Managing time is the most difficult yet the most important thing to be done. I am here only to guide you as to how you can manage time.. many of you won’t believe it but trust me, managing time is the easiest thing to do… all you need to do is to plan things before head, prioritise them, make a schedule and then stick to it…’

Rishabh started sharing about his own schedule how he managed his day. How he managed his duties as a father and a businessman, he shared his tricks with them and gave them a few ideas to make a schedule for themselves according to their convenience.

‘I know that many people assume that I have played dirty tricks to achieve this height in my career but I never had to do that, all I had to do was play the right card at the right time… timing is all that matters my friends!’

By the end of his speech the entire auditorium echoed with loud applause and Prerna was the one clapping the hardest for her man. She was grinning like an idiot right now, during his entire speech Rishabh kept looking at her, it felt like he was just talking to her and the others weren’t present in the room.

Rishabh took a seat as the principal started giving the end speech for the day, Prerna bit her lip when she noticed a naughty smile on his lips once again he tried to hide it by sipping some water, she knew that he had won their deal already but she was happy with her loss. She decided to turn the tables and wipe that smile off his face.

As Rishabh took a sip of water, Prerna winked at him in a flirtatious way and he almost choked on the water, thankfully he managed to keep a straight face, he glared at Prerna who was trying to suppress her giggle and shot her a glare.

Within minutes the auditorium had started to get vacated, Prerna was about to walk to Rishabh but he was already engrossed in a conversation with her principal. She exited the room and saw those two girls waiting there at the door, she looked at them with knotted eyebrows

‘Listen you talk to him when he comes out…’

One of them said and Prerna rolled her eyes in annoyance when she realised that they were waiting for Rishabh to come out. She turned back and smiled to herself when she saw him walk out with their principal. She smirked at those girls who gulped in fear, there was no chance that they would flirt with Rishabh in front of the principal. But she didn’t know that her smirk would disappear so soon

‘Prerna…’

She jumped slightly when her principal called her out and gestured her to walk to them. She looked at Rishabh nervously and wondered what he had said to the principal, she turned around to see those girls vanish from their spot in seconds as she took small steps towards Rishabh and her principal.

‘Mr. Bajaj she is one of the most brilliant students of our batch.. Prerna Sharma..’

Rishabh gave her a proud smile as the principal praised Prerna. She responded with a shy one and thanked her principal

‘I want you to escort him to the green room for some refreshments while I brief the staff for the next lecture..’

The principal ordered Prerna and like an obj dent student followed his orders and walked with Rishabh towards the green room. Luckily the corridors were almost empty as the next lecture had already begun

‘So.. I guess I won the deal… I am sure this lecture was not boring like the previous ones!’

Rishabh asked her in a low voice yet teasing voice, Prerna shrugged her shoulders before she replied

‘It wasn’t that boring…’

She saw him grin at and she knew the reason behind it as well, she shot him a glare and continued

‘But you did cheating… you didn’t tell me that you were the one coming for the lecture..’

She complained and Rishabh’s grin only got wider

‘Well if I would have done that Mujhe vo priceless expression kaise dekhne milta aapke face pe..’

Prerna poured at him as he mocked her once again

‘Anyways, I won the deal.. so now you will do as I say.. in the next 10 minutes you will meet me outside the back gate and we are going to have some coffee and breakfast before we head back home, I spoke to Maa and she informed me that you skipped your breakfast again..’

Rishabh said in a serious tone and before Prerna could reply she saw the principal coming in their direction and just nodded her, she smiled at her sir before walking away from them but she kept looking back at Rishabh who was once again engrossed in a conversation with her the principal and she didn’t realise that almost bumped into someone

‘I am so sorry…’

Prerna said and looked at up to see Anurag in front of her once again. He looked angry and had a sour expression on his face, she followed his glare and understood that the reason behind his anger was Rishabh

‘Vo he had come here for the guest lecture…’

She found herself defending Rishabh even before Anurag had said anything. He narrowed his eyes and looked at her

‘Doesn’t matter to me why he is here, but I saw you talking to him…’

‘Yes, sir asked me to escort him to the green room for refreshments.. I was just…’

‘Toh tum mana kar deti… you don’t know him, he is not a good guy… Tumhe usse dur hi rehna chahiye…tumhe koi idea nahi hai ki success ke liye ussne kya kya kiya hai…’

The way Anurag spoke took Prerna by shock but at the same time she was getting mad at him for speaking ill about Rishabh.

‘Anurag thank you so much for this unwanted piece of advice but sahi aur galat logon ke beech ka fark mujhe bhi samajh aata hai…’

Prerna said calmly, she tried not to behave rudely with Anurag for the second time today, before Anurag could reply or say anything else about Rishabh she left, leaving a confused Anurag behind
