Deal or blackmail...Does definitions really matter?

What Pre says or what every other character of the show says is not going to change the sequence of events shown with regards to how she 'agreed' to the marriage.

Anu was jailed and about to be sentenced for a murder case regarding which Bajaj had evidence to prove his innocence since it happened in his property. And in exchange for the said evidence Pre was asked to agree to marry him.

If one feels that saving some one from a possible life sentence or capital punishment for a murder that never happened and agrees to marry a guy who is only willing to provide the evidence if she married him, as coercion is it really so far from the truth?

Sure call it a deal or whatever term that one might seem fit. But the gravity of the situation and the people he played with by this deal are innocents that had done nothing, absolutely NOTHING to him.

Everyone has a right to choose and go after what they want and try to achieve it, but that right shouldn't be achieved by snatching the rights and choices of someone else.

Remember....Your human rights starts where the others ends.....IT doesn't start with you. Meaning my rights can't be an excuse to infringe upon the rights of another person. This is a show about human, not Martians, so ofcourse people will and should draw parallels with human society and call out such actions.

Thus contrary to popular belief here in the forum, I don't believe right and wrong is subjective even if we are talking about a show. Right and wrong is not rocket science that has to be endlessly debated upon.

Dealing with innocent people's lives is not a deal. And Bajaj not providing evidence regarding Anu's innocence to court on his own is criminal let alone lacking basic humanity towards a fellow human being.

And using that same evidence to trap a girl 18 years younger than him in a marriage, is not just a deal by any definition. Even if people insist on forgetting the age difference here, it plays a huge part as well...We are talking about 18 years difference in life experiences that comes with age. Pre is yet to experience many things and life situations a 44 year old would have already gone through and a mere 23-24 years compared to 44 is a vast difference that gives immense room for manipulation and power play. Not to mention a rich and powerful person as Bajaj was shown to be at the time of that marriage.

All this put in a real life situation shows a very disturbing and disgusting image. Replace Bajaj with a pockmarked 44 year old average looking guy, and everyone would suddenly see the 'deal' for what it is.

👏👏

An apt post.

Thr have been others arguing on the same note. What is wrong is wrong. Prerna was too young and unexposed to such dark edges of the world. Intimidation wudn't be difficult at all. The whole concept is very disturbing and thr cant be any justifications for the same.

We can't forgive a 25 yr old guy to act impulsive, rash and unreasonable in komo track but a 44 yr old shud be given a clean chit for his dubious immoral act. He is using prerna for his daughter if thts wht he says and he used anurag to get prerna. The word deal mocks human life as people r not put on exchanges to be traded!

The way he has acted simply proves him a seasoned manipulator and criminal.

Some may say it's a deal while others may call it a blackmail.

There isn't right or wrong here, because it depends upon our perspective.

But the main point about this marraige is, She was MANIPULATED and Coaxed into it. It's like choosing between dead sea and fire. There was never a choice there.

She could have walked out of it. But she didn't. She chose the first available option. That makes her very impulsive. That's the only reason why I don't term this marriage as a 'blackmail'. But it's horribly wrong and definitely not a deal marriage.

He needs to leave her , he needs to free her from his clutches and then she should choose what she wants. And whatever she chooses, I would accept it .

Yar, one thing I notice here is that many of us ignore the fact that Pre is only in her very early 20s and a nearly middle aged powerful man manipulating such a young girl for marriage for what ever reason is committing all sorts of wrong here even if we disregard saving Anu's life from imprisonment here and put something more common like money issues or health issues here.

Seriously like @Pinot said somewhere it really creeps me out every time Bajaj touches Pre or makes mooney eyes at her, I'm more and more reminded of the huge age difference and how she was manipulated into this marriage. I mean can any of us imagine this happening in real life and not get highly uneasy about this whole setting?

Even in S1 I was totally creeped out, but the difference was that they took time leaps in developing the story and thus it makes things a bit more palatable for viewers to see Pre develop feelings for Bajaj after 10 to 15 years, because life experiences were also added along with the mix. RR was a fabulous actor, but I could never get past the douche that he was to actually like the character ever.
