PART 1

Rishabh after taking shower went into the balcony and sat on the same chair where he was sitting three months back..

Three months back:

Rishabh came from London for one week and he gets the news of Anurag’s wedding… next day both families came here the same place for the Engagement ceremony….

He was busy in his laptop when excited Anurag dragged him towards a room ..

R: Anu, ye kya bchpana hai… mera bhut important project pending hai…

A: bhaii please! Aap aur aapka kaam, aur wese shaddi fix apki honi chahiye thi , but phele meri ho rahi hai…

R: really , Anurag tumhe pta hai na ye shaddi , ye pyar insab se mai bhut dur rehta hu….

And by the way, tum itni jaldi shhadi ke liye kese maan gye,that too arranged….

A: bhaii arranged kha hai, Baba aur Rajesh uncle to kab se ek dusre ko jante the aur mai aur Prerna bhi…

Rishabh nodded slightly and smiled at him..

R: so, who is this special one you want me to meet?

Anurag knocked the door of the room next to Rishabh's. A girl opened it. She was petite, with long straight hair, innocent bright eyes and beautiful smile.

"This is Prerna" Anurag said introducing her "And Prerna, this is the one and only Rishabh bhaii”

"I guess Anu has been talking to you about me" Rishabh said,extending his hand towards shake hers.

She gave him a pleasant smile, shaking his hand shyly, nodding to answer him.

Now, you are here we will have fun!

You know maa and veena aunty, Prerna’s mother become bestfriends… and her sister Aparna is in same class as our Tapur, but she is nothere as she is having an exam… anurag said..

Rishabh looked at Prerna and nodded. There wasn't much he could have said. He didn't know her that well, and neither did she, outside of what Anurag had told her.

Rishabh had never expected Anurag to go in for an arranged match and be happy about it. But seeing Prerna and mostly seeing her respond to his brother, he could see that she clearly had some spunk and an outgoing personality, which was bound to have caught his brother's attention.

"You know Prerna, tomorrow Menika is going to join us, she is so , beautiful when I last visit him, I can see how other employees of hisoffice see her, but who can ignore Rishabh Bajaj…., but she is his good friend only!" he teased

"It was nothing of the sorts" Rishabh cut it,feeling embarrassed, as he always did with the teasing.

"I know" Prerna cut in at the same time as Rishabh did. Rishabh guessed Anurag had told her about this many times so that she knew it like the back of her hand now. He wondered what else had his brother sprouted to his would be.

‘I cannot wait for Menika to arrive. I have already made plans for us for tomorrow' Anurag added

"Hearing you talk, one would wonder if Menika is your fiancé" Rishabh teased him shaking his head, making Prerna break into a smile

"Do you want to swap?" Anurag asked raising his eyebrows up and down

"Are you sure you want to marry him?" Rishabh asked Prerna, pulling Anurag'sleg
"Hey! You have turned every beautiful girl away from me, at least spare her" Anurag said pretending to be miffed.

In the evening:

He was sitting on his chair when he saw her standing near the beach.., he don’t know but he went near her and stand just behind her…

R: you love beaches?

She startled with his sudden presence…

Prerna passed him a small smile…

P: I don’t know, I mean I never visit beach before…

R: are you scared! , I mean with deep water, waves.. and all this…

She nodded in no!

R: then, you can go into the water now, it is fun!

P: I don’t know how to swim in sea…

R: you don’t have to swim.., just feel the water, okay come I will take you, and we will go to the level you are comfortable with…, fine!

She nodded…

As she reached the water she jumped back and held his hand, “the sand sunk under my feet..” she said..

R: it will happen just take steps regularly..

He thought to distract her…

R: okay, tell me something about your family…

P: my family, well there is maa, baba , Aparna and me..,bhai-bhabhi are settled in Mumbai..

R: so, who are you most attached to?

P: obviously, My Baba, he is world’s best baba, then to maa and Aparna.., you know she is my younger sister but always behave as my elder sister, but she loves me very much..

"What exactly has Anu told you about me? Should I be worried?" Rishabh asked her making a face

"I will tell you once I make up my mind about how much of it is real" Prerna told him

"Do you work?" Rishabh continued, distracting her from her surroundings..

“yes!, I work as teacher in school for special children, I know it is not a big job , but it gives me peace and satisfaction” she told him with proud face..

“no , you do great work, and no work is small or big..” he stopped and asked her to look around…

She looked confused for a minute, before she looked around.It slowly sunk into her head that they had moved deeper into the sea and water almost reached her hips now. Her eyes widened and she shocked Rishabh by hugging him all of a sudden. He pulled her away from him, hoping to get her to enjoy her achievement, but she hit him hard on his arms a couple of times before he held her hands away from him.

"How could you get us in so deep into the waters? You told me we would only go as far as I am comfortable"

"Prerna, you do realize you walked in this far and you are, well almost, okay now." Rishabh tried to reason

Then,she realized and slowly start enjoying the water….

R:I think we should go now,it is late…

P:but I can’t , my legs are freeze…

Rishabh exhaled, this is all his mistake..” what you want me to do.?”

P:I don’t know, I mean… tears brim in her eyes…

He shrugged and look all around and picked her up in his arms…. And make to the back gate of the villa..

She thanked him and run towards her room…

This was their first encounter, and within five days.. they meet and talk many times, she start admiring him, he start enjoying her company…

On the fifth day, they all went for shopping where he gets to know, she want to learn driving …

Anurag takes his seat with Menika, and Tapur…

Nivedita and Anupam left in their car…

So,Prerna decide to give company to him.. as he will left alone then…

When they were coming back, he asked her to try driving for once… firstly she hesitate but then she start driving as he was instructing her…

They were coming home when , she get distracted and lost her control on car…, he tried to control but it hits the tree…

Anu’s car was behind them..

Others take them out, they were not injured but she get scared.. and start weeping bitterly in Anurag’s arms, who was equally terrified with all this…

Rishabh consoles both and Menika take her with her in her car….

In the evening , he finds her sitting near sea…

He ran to her and sank in the sand next to her. He hesitated for a moment on how best to help here, before he chuckled all the formalities and pulled her into an embrace. She pushed back for a second, before something changed in her, almost as if she recognized him, and she hugged him back tightly

"You are safe, Prerna. Nothing is going to happen to you again" Rishabh whispered to her "I will keep you safe. I promise. I will never let anything happen to you again" he kept murmuring to her, as he rubbed her back to sooth her fears. He wasn't sure what made him promise her with those words, but they felt right to him and he knew he wouldn't let her down "I promise" he whispered again, even as she clutched his shirt tightly in her fist. "I wont let you down"

After a long while, she calmed down enough so that her crying had reduced to muffled whimpers now. His shirt was a bit soaked with her tears by then. He pulled her away from him a bit. He wiped her tears gently with his thumbs, as he looked at her.

Somewhere along the line, her tears stopped, but he was still caressing her cheek with his thumb and she was looking intently at him. His eyes were drawn to hers and also to her lips, for a second. Without planning to, he inched closer to her face. As if sensing his eyes, she titled her face forward, and gently closed her eyes. For a brief moment, they were in a completely different world, one where they were cut off from their surroundings and the upcoming relationships.

Rishabh leaned in and captured her lips in a gentle kiss that had him feeling more at peace then he ever had,and yet feeling more alive than he ever had as well. She melted into him and into the kiss, as he pulled her closer, wrapping her into his arms, holding her close to his heart, without breaking the kiss.

I loved their introduction, its casual without too much drama. Anurag looks genuine here. So we do have Menka too who likes Rishabh. I loved how he helped her come out of her fear by distracting her. He picked her too. His promise is a lifetime promise which he gave without even knowing. OMG, they kissed and it was mutual☺️. Now, what would be their reaction after realizing what they did?
