Mohini Basu-
“There is no one so cruel as those closest to you”- Andrew Davenport
This quote is so apt for Mama Basu. Her words were like arrows shot straight to Pre’s heart. Mohini had blackmailed Pre to marry Navvu or be evacuated from their family home knowing fully well Sharmas could never repay the loan. She got away scot free because her gullible son Anu gave her a free pass calling his mother boli bali. If only he had heard his mother’s cruel words to Pre today, such hate filled venomous words. One would think she learned a thing or two by now but she’s getting meaner and nastier with every passing day.
She knows Anu loves Pre deeply, yet his happiness is the least of her concerns. She is hell bent on getting Pre out of his life. She may soon see he4 pal I
Every taunt and insult she shoots at Pre goes straight to Anu heart and huts him Yet she continues down the path with her faulty belief that Pre or any other girl was too good for her son.
Now with Moloy incapacitated and her hatred for Pre escalating she was on a rant verbally abusing her with insults like “have you seen your face in the mirror” and “Rajesh was just an employee and you dream of being a bahu of this house”? While Moloy always graciously attributed his success to Rajesh’s hard work, Mohini only felt she was entitled to the rewards of their hard work.
She is also equally if not more short sighted of what may come to roost on the Basu’s doorstep with Bajaj focused on bringing them down on all fronts, business and personal. Will there come a day when she may have to plead with Pre to save her?
If Pre chooses she knows how to dish out to Mohini. The mean spirited matriarch of Basu house and her arrogance needs a rude wake up call soon before she destroys Anu.
Anu needs to wake up to the cruelty of his mother. When will he find out Mohini was the cause of Pre being upset when he spoke about their trip to Switzerland?
Rishabh Bajaj:
An old Indian proverb “those who wish ill on others are already on that path of destruction themselves”.
I read a similar quote today and thought it was so apt for RB.
“Those who pray for your downfall are concentrating negative thoughts towards you, without taking cognizance of the slippery ground in which they are standing, which could lead to their downfall - Michael Bassey Johnson.
Was RB the mastermind behind Ronit leading Anu to the godown to set him up so he could “go in for the kill” nailing Anu for the fire and blackmailing Pre into leaving Anu.
It’s a “horse with blinders on” narrow minded and short-sighted outlook to ruin AnuPre on the say so of Komo without verifying all the facts of what actually transpired.
First impressions are the best impressions. Today in precap RB blew his chances and will rue his words one day. Meeting Pre for the first time he gloated with his blackmailing words.
He sounded like a mafia boss when he told her “You are going to lose everything. If you want Anu freed you have to leave Anu”. He knows nothing about Pre yet his motive was to make her pay based on Komo’s opinion of her. For a shrewd businessman that was a silly move. He doesn’t know the nature of AnuPre’s commitment to each other. He thinks to get her to leave Anu is a win-win situation for him.
Anu was well aware that Pre was upset when he met her at Basu House. Once he gets to know Pre sacrificed him for his freedom he’s bound to be livid. But he’s not going to give up on her. Let’s hope Mohini’s private talk with Veena and Pre will come to light as things unfold and he distances himself from Mohini. Mohini needs to face the consequences for her actions. as she likes to say... “Bus! Bahut ho Gaya”
At least for Mohini’s sake Basu Family should be forced to live a middle class life at least for a few days to wipe the smirk off her haughty face once and for all
The fun and happier days are now all gloom and doom.
