Every time I watch any show or invest in any couple, I look at the nuances. What is it that's not being said but the audience can still point it out? However, it's a little opposite in this show. From the first promo, we heard non-stop about Anurag and Prerna being soulmates, having an eternal bond, two people whose love cannot be compared to any other. And from the moment the show started, I was looking for this incredible bond between the two to come alive. Initially, I applauded the foundation between Anurag and Prerna. Starting as friends, and slowly falling in love. Anurag picking up on Prerna being uncomfortable, trying to save her from the big bad wolf, and eventually succeeding was beautiful to witness (even tho the execution was shitty as usual. I'm happy for the fact that it happened, not HOW it happened). But then everything went to shit. Both Mishka and Komolika tracks were unnecessary and proved nothing to me that Anurag and Prerna belong together.
But all of that led to the last couple of weeks. Now I can safely say that an unbreakable bond has formed between the two. I see mutual trust, respect, and love for each other. I see both Anurag and Prerna being able to understand what the other person is going through with the tone of their voice or a look on their face. Each of them wants to see the other happy. Most importantly, Anurag is going against his mother to make sure that Prerna and her family are happy. I am so glad that the writers have finally decided to give some depth to this relationship. Before, it made no sense to me that Prerna would lock herself in Anurag's house to claim back her rights as a wife. That shit was down right comedic. BUT I AM HAPPY NOW. Now I will understand the sacrifice a bit more on Prerna's part, not that I wouldn't be pissed, but I can understand where it would come from.
