Not necessary that if your roots are from some state, you would be knowing the language.
(My ancestor roots are from Kerala but I don't know Malayalam. We speak in Hindi at home Because my grandparents and their parents were all settled in Delhi so my parents grew up in North and automatically for them , Delhi is their hometown. Regarding me, I keep shifting every two years because my father is an army officer. Since one year am in Hyderabad, before that was working in Delhi, so....)
I duno about kannadikas.but tamilians and north Indiana are different from malayalees.even if they are brought up in some other place they are not completely ignorant of their mother tongue.in that case they are a surprise.

but her hinglish is cute....haan same here if i start speaking in hindi all my frnds will start correcting my grammer and pronounciation .... Even after multiple corrections i will never correct ... I wil be back to pavilion....erica just delivers what her writers have given.... She has issue in deliverying dialogues as she has her mother tongue influence...
but if she can't speak her mother tongue why her Hindi is having mother tongue influence?

sochna padega.... I think there is some issue in tongue twisting... Vowels issue... which cannot be corrected now..
She might be singing in church from childhood as they do prayers and it would have been influencing her...
but Erica is brought up in Mumbai.so in church she will be singing only English or Hindi songs.then why her accent is different?
