I am posting part 5 here.I just saw today's written update.Now Anurag totally deserves what Prerna does here in my story.
Once again I am a die-hard AnuPre shipper.Bajaj will only be used as a tool to bring them closer or to show him what happens when you make stupid decisions and don't use your brain
PART--Honesty,Equality And Respect
The moment they entered Basu Bari, they were greeted by Mohini Basu's steely glare,"I thought I told you that the party would start at 8.Its 9:30."
"Sorry aunty, woh Mishka ka last minute kuch kaam pending reh gaya.After all, you know na ki website launch ko ab zyada din nahi hai."Ved said.Mohini was about to answer when Moloy came and saved the situation,"Hello Mishka ,Ved tum log Prerna ko dhund rahe ho?Woh dekho woh rahi Prerna abhi neeche aa rahi hai.".As Ved passed them,he muttered a small'thank you' to Moloy who chuckled in return.As he turned towards Mohini who gave him a stern look,"Humare naye investor Mr.Bajaj abhi tak nahi aaye?" Mohini asked.Just then a tall man, dressed in all black entered the room.Seeing him Moloy said,"Woh dekho aa Gaye woh, hello Mr.Bajaj.How are you?Kahi aapko Ghar dhundne mein koi takleef to nahi huyi?". Mr.Bajaj replied,"Arre nahi bilkul nahi Mr.Basu , after all iss shaher mein aisa kaun Hain jise Basu's ka address nahi paata?". Hearing this Mohini gave him a pleasant smile.Seeing this Mr.Bajaj thought grinning, agar inko pata chalta ki Mujhe inke Ghar ka address nahi balki Ghar ke logo ke Dil ka haal bhi pata chal Gaya,toh inka chehra dekhne layak hota.As Mohini and Moloy headed to the hall with their new guest, Nivi and Anupam approached them .
Introductions were taking place when two people, equally enigmatic, caught Mr.Bajaj's eye.Towards his left stood Mrs.Prerna Basu now chatting animatedly with a couple.Standing directly opposite her was Mr.Anurag Basu who was staring at her intently without even trying to look interested in what the gentleman talking to him had to say."That's my son and his wife," a voice broke his chain of thoughts.He turned it was Mrs.Mohini Basu giving him a tight smile.She saw what he was looking at and understood what drew his attention.When the Chief Minister of Bengal is speaking to you, you listen or at least pretend to listen but her son? He's been staring at Prerna as if she would disappear if he even blinked."Just a minute,Mr.Bajaj," said Mohini.She walked towards her son and the Chief Minister and said,"Excuse me Mantriji par Mujhe Onu ko kisise introduce karana hai(she said smiling) aap tab Tak kuch lijiye na,"she gestured towards the waiter as she pulled her son away. "Prerna beta, Zara yaha aana," Mohini purposely called her in a sugary sweet voice,so that she had no choice but to listen to her.As it is she had defied her enough for one day.Prerna who understood this in an equally sweet manner replied,"Ji Shashurima".
Mohini took both their hands walking towards Mr.Bajaj she said,"Prerna-Anurag ,yeh hai Mr.Bajaj humare naye business associate and Mr.Bajaj meet my son and his wife.". Rishabh Bajaj had no idea why but out of all the people in the party he was the most eager to be introduced to these two here.He shook hands with Anurag Basu directing his gaze at him while trying to get a measure of his character.To his surprise Mr.Basu met his gaze with equal directness.Not bad,Mr.Bajaj thought,at first glance usually people found him to be intimidating but not Mr.Basu.He turned towards Prerna and shook her hand saying,"It's a pleasure to meet you Mrs.Basu."
"Actually it's Prerna Sharma-Basu.", Prerna corrected him quickly.Her smile was sugary sweet while her eyes had a rebellious glint as she corrected.Watching his Mother's face redden in silent anger,Anurag realized that it was more for Mohini's benefit than Mr.Bajaj.Realizing this he smirked, while he would have loved nothing more than to have the two most important women in his life bond,their passive aggressiveness towards each other entertained him to no end.Mr.Bajaj,who also noticed Mohini's expression realized this said,"Excuse me, Mrs.Sharma-Basu,Mujhe Khushi hai ki aaj Kal ladkiya apne surname ko bhi utna hi importance deti hai jitna ki apne pati ke surname ko, don't you think, Mr.Basu?",he asked Anurag gauging his reaction."Of course", Anurag said,"I am glad ki ki Mujhe aisi biwi mili hai Jo as an individual khudki value samajhti hai",he said proudly.Prerna glanced at him, surprised.Their eyes met.She thought given their last conversation , her self respect was what he would be blaming for
their separation.But instead, all he could see love and respect for her in his eye.Kyu tum Mujhe itna galat samajhti ho Prerna?Anurag thought sadly,Maine uss din tumse Jo bhi kaha tha woh sab jhoot tha.Woh sab Maine iss liye kaha tha taki tum apni life mein aage bar paao, Mujh par nahi balki khud par bharosa Kar paao.Mohini broke the silence by offering Me.Bajaj a drink, who until now was watching these two with deep interest.Mohini didn't like this one bit.Mr. Bajaj who was going to be their business associate,seemed way too interested in their personal lives than in business.Or rather just in Anurag and Prerna."So Mr.Bajaj,"Mohini asked conversationally,"Aap aaj yaha akele kaise apke saath Mrs.Bajaj nahi aayi?".Mr. Bajaj chuckled,"Once I find her I will let you know Mrs.Basu.I am still unmarried.".He said, without realizing it his gaze turned towards Prerna.This didn't go unnoticed by Mohini and Anurag.Earlier, Mohini had been irked by Mr.Bajaj's interest in their personal lives because she felt that he might be put off by the problems and refuse to sign the deal with them.Now she feared his interest for different reasons entirely.Although, Anurag felt Mr.Bajaj was just indulging in some harmless flirting with Prerna,he still didn't like it.Especially now, when Prerna and his relationship was in such unsure footing."Well",Anurag said jovially,while walking next to Prerna and wrapping his arm around her,"I assure you Mr.Bajaj Aap regret nahi karenge,(his eyes met Prerna's) pyaar se zyada khoobsurat iss duniya mein aur kuchh bhi nahi hai.Kisi ke liye jeena, uske liye maarna.Apne pyaar ke Khushi ke liye kuchh bhi kar Jana phir chaahe uski Khushi apke mithne mein ho.". Turning to Mr.Bajaj, he said,"Log ishq ko ibadat ka doosra naam yuhi nahi kehte Mr.Bajaj , pyaar ka Matlab hi hota kisi aur ko apna sab kuch maan na aur kisi aur ko apna sab kuch vaar Dena.".To his surprise Prerna's arm sneaked up on his back.He looked at her, she was staring at her shoes with a small smile on her face.Finally, Mohini thought,at least ab baat court kacheri Tak nahi pohochegi, dher se hi sahi Onu ne Mana liya Prerna ko.Mr.Bajaj,like Anurag was curiously staring at Prerna waiting for her response.She looked up at Mr.Bajaj and said,"I am so sorry Mr.Bajaj(chuckling) Aap yaha business ki baatein Karne aaye hai aur log aapko pyaar ke upar gyaan de rahe hai.Aap bhi confused ho Gaye honge na ki Aap ek corporate party mein aaye hai ya kisi Hindi film ki shooting mein?".Mr.Bajaj laughed at this.Anurag tried to keep a composed smile while deep inside it killed him to see Prerna take his feelings for her and make a mockery of them and that too in front of stranger!Chalo Kam se Kam Mujhe kuchh to idea hua ki uss din tumhe kitna dard hua Hoga jab Maine sabke Saamne tumhe beizzat Kiya,he thought,I am so sorry Prerna! Mohini,on the other hand was seething inside her son practically laid his heart out to this woman and she walked over it like nothing happened.Looking at Prerna laugh with Mr.Bajaj while her son looked on made Mohini realize that her son needs her help to keep Prerna in his life.Just then Mr.Bajaj asked Prerna,"Toh Prerna, I hope you don't mind,(Prerna shook her head),aap ke liye ek relationship mein sabse zyada Kya zaroori hai?"
Prerna replied,"Honesty, equality aur respect.".She looked at Anurag,"Agar yeh sab ek relationship mein na ho to pyaar bhi kam par jata hai.".She removed her hand from Anurag's waist,and said,"Excuse me, Mr.Bajaj Mujhe apne Baki guests ko attend karna hai". Saying this she walked away, unaware of the two pairs of eyes following her every movement.But Mohini saw everything, her son's eyes filled with love and longing and also Mr.Bajaj's eyes sparkling with interest.
