Mohini - the worst mother

Seriously, mohini is literally the worst mother by admitting her favorite. I get that she's right in telling nivi to not interfere as nivi doesn't like interference in her own life but that doesn't mean to ridicule or say that anurag is her favorite and stuff. Nivi was concerned as a sister, whether for right or wrong reasons. Literally, I feel that this is gonna buildup a height of jealousy and stuff in nivi's personality.

I'm so glad you created this post, because one of my major takeaways from this episode is how horrible a mother Mohini is. Really, I think her obsession with Anurag is quite concerning and goes beyond a regular mother's love for her child and is even more damaging because it's at the cost of her other children. I mean to outright tell Nivi to her face that Anurag is her favorite was unnecessarily harsh and then in the precap she slaps her also, I mean she's really starting to annoy me as a character. Also I have to disagree to your point about her reasons to do so because I found her completely hypocritical when she said Onu has his personal life and the right to make his choices as he sees fit. If that's the case then why is she constantly trying to control him and push him towards Mishka. Despite Nivi's classist hatred towards Prerna, I like how intuitive and observant she is towards her brother because she's able to see him and understand his feelings unlike his so called mother who for the last few months has been actively believing some "muh bola bhai" above her own son and whose hatred towards Prerna is blinding her to the truth about her beloved son's feelings. Moreover, I'd love to see whether she'll respect Anurag's right to a personal life with no interference when he inevitably chooses to be with Prerna.

She will the reason their children to grow apart. Nivedita will make her own brother go through hell

She definitely is! I hate her for the the way she treats Nivi.🤢 I can understand a mother having a favourite child but how can she be so insensitive towards her other children?What infuriated me the most in the episode was Mohini telling Nivi that if she utters one more word against her precious son 'mujse bura koi nahi hoga'🤢Did Mohini really give birth to Nivi? I am a mother myself and I cannot even imagine saying such harsh words to my child and hurting her

I see what you mean. Yeah, I think she wants nivi to know that nivi has no right to control/dominate/direct anurag as she is just a sibling, not a parent. I mean, there are families that have to control the oldest sibling from completely taking over the parent's role in real life.

I agree with you on most points , but I have a rather neutral view towards Mohini .
I won't call her a horrible mother , yes accepting the fact that Anurag is your favourite while already knowing that Nivedita is jealous of this , isn't all right .
Anurag has the love of both his parents , it isn't as if he is the momma's boy and she is her daddy's girl or anything like that , which I think is a major reason why Nivedita always wants to prove herself . Being so involved in the business . Maybe letting her mom down by getting married to Anupam , is the reason why she partially hates Anupam .
It's one of the reasons why she isn't the perfect daughter in the eyes of her mother .
However Mohini loves Nivedita , she has said it herself but she loves all of them differently . Doesn't defend her but yes at least she loves all her children .

I think she is a fairly gray character , who lets her ego suppress and superpower her emotions and maybe to an extinct her relationships .

Moloy says it himself , he has two versions of a wife , the socialite and the one below the makeup .

It's not as if Mohini doesn't have good in her , she does feel remorse when she gets to know what type of a man Naveen is and what she did to Prerna . However , when she is questioned by Veena , her "aham overpowers her .

I think the slap is the catalyst which will make Nivedita probably the main villain in this love saga .
