Who else is upset that Prerna is just existing while the two guys are making decisions about her life. One is literally trying to sell her while the other one does everything in his power to do exactly what Prerna tells him NOT to do. He's not listening to Prerna at all, and getting physical with her and it's portrayed as something romantic and heroic. I'm obviously more upset about Anurag treating Prerna like she's his without actually letting her know of his feelings or even admitting to himself how he feels about her.
I do like Prerna's characterization but that will be conditional to how she moves forward from this. So I hope we get prerna making decisions for herself in the future. And if the spoilers are to be believed, prerna will get married to Anurag. I don't know if this will entirely good for Prerna only because Anurag has been speaking for prerna when he thinks she's in trouble. I wanted him to help her find her voice, not silence her and speak louder himself. I saw some other post saying how they're downplaying Prernas strengths to elevate Anurag's character and I definitely agree. Prerna is not an object. She has feelings s and can make her own decisions but I don't know why her side of the story is so muted compared to Anurag's. We can and should have two leads that are well written even if their strengths and characteristics come from different sources. Not everyone's strength is the same. I didnt have much criticism of the show up until now but Anurag has been pissing me off. What do y'all think?

I agree. Prerna is being tossed back forth in the male argument. Since Naveen's entry Prerna's characterisation at times has been very weak. CVs should work on that.
However regarding Anu, I kinda disagree. Yes Anu has suddenly become this hero and he is going and doing all this stuff to break off the marriage which Prerna is not telling him to do. But what other choice does he even have? Can he let her marry off to that leech so that Naveen can sell her off? At least his intentions are right and genuinely sincere. Bringing him and Naveen into the same picture itself is wrong. 🤔
Help Prerna find her voice? He probably would have if only he knew what her actual reason of marriage is! He can then help her out and show her the different ways she can take. But how will he help her when she pushes him away every time he asks her the reason she is doing all this.
For Anurag, his friend (somehow he feels for more than friend and yet doesn't realise it) is marrying this guy who is wrong in every way for an unknown reason she doesn't want to disclose. He on his part is trying to prevent this from happening and is doing whatever it takes.
About the romantic gestures he is showing lately well he is crazily in love with Prerna and doesn't realises it. 😆 But I agree some he overdoes it sometimes.
Boys are more possessive about their loved ones than girls. Anurag may not know it but Prerna is turning to be very important for him. He therefore time and again acts this way. The fact he doesn't realise he is overstepping the boundaries doesn't help either.

Yes I am the one who created the post your refer to and I agree with the sentiments you have expressed.

Prerna got relegated to a 3 mins romantic scene with Anurag and Naveen Babu playing their Bromance / two dogs fighting over a bone / hero villain mystery.

There is obviously a reason for this - Ekta wants the audience to relate to Anurag and Prerna this time. But just as i said before, I think the character of Anurag is being created at the cost of the character of Prerna.

I second your opinion. Each word of it. And I don't see any scope for correction.

*sigh*, I've given up.
Yes, all of this is true and exactly what I dislike. I've watched (more of watched scenes here and there) other serials of EK, even those dating back to 2001. And i didn't find such horrid weakness in characterization anywhere, of any FL.
Yeah there are weak points everywhere but such treatment is, IDK, unacceptable ?
I dont know if writers these days have gone back to an era even beyond 2000s or so.
There's some major issue with no scope of correction, as Vignyarthi says.

It's alarming tbh.

The FL is shown too weak to be palatable. And I'm totally annoyed at glorifying one character at the cost of another. Why waste Erica's talent?

I agree with this sentiment. However, it goes back to my point of making Anurag the all-knowing sensible guy compared to Prerna being super oblivious and basically an idiot. I just have a problem with his approach because at the end of the day, Anurag doesn't know Prerna as much as he claims he does. He has a pull towards her thats why he wants to be the savior. I was fine with his actions up until he broke into her house and pinned her against the wall. That was way too much. And now the aata scene. I got so cringey and was telling him to stop doing that through my screen lmao. I don't know if you saw today's episode but look at how sweet the scene between Prerna and Anurag was because both of them were invested the same amount. Compared to tomorrows aata scene where Anurag takes a step further. I could probably be overcriticizing since I'm not happy with Anurag at the moment but yeah.
also about finding her voice, if he knows that she wouldn't take such a big step lightly, shouldn't he at least respect her choices and not bring it up every chance he gets? I mean if I make a decision that my friends don't like, I wouldn't want them to rub it on my face. Plus she thinks she's doing it for her family and doesnt want to be talked out of it clearly. I mean its not the most logical decision but it is still her decision regardless.

this just reminded me of student of the year. Prerna just feels like Alia's character with 0 depth. I mean Prerna is a bit better than Alias character but still

yeah exactly. Prerna is just becoming a pawn to further Anurag at this point. I don't like it at all.
