In love? Well, don't accept everything at face value.Rashmi Hemrajani suggests you look for these signs that can convey important truths
Adjusting in a relationship is a good idea, but there are certain signs that tell you that the relationship has no longevity. Read on to know them...
Gets too possessive
'Hey where are you? What time are you reaching home? 'Don't you have to meet your friend today' and so on... If you hear such statements from your partner often enough,
remember you have an issue at hand. Letting your partner interfere and take decisions that are not relevant to them, means you are allowing them to walk all over you. "Initially when my boyfriend called me often and checked about my whereabouts, I used to find it cute. Then slowly, he began to get angry if I was out with my friends or family. Even if I was home reading a book, he had a problem. I felt he wanted to rule over each second of my life, it was suffocating. Eventually, we broke off," says Neha Chopra, an advertising executive.
Insecurity
Insecurity actually translates into a lot of things and is not a good sign. Psychologist, Seema Hingorrany says, "A sense of insecurity develops when your guy is not confident, either about himself or his family or about the girl he is dating."
Other eye-candy
"My boyfriend and I would frequent restaurants, multiplexes and malls at least twice to thrice a week. Every time a girl clad in skimpy clothes would pass, he'd raise his eyebrows. Even worse, he would make nasty comments and laugh out loud. After a while his behaviour got to me. I realised that I can't spend the rest of my life with such a man," admits says Shweta Tiwari, a fashion merchandiser.
Extreme mood swings
If your guy promises the stars and moon to you one day and refuses to talk to you on the next – watch out. If he can swing wildly from one mood to the next you might not be able to cope with it. Explains Seema, "This kind of behaviour is mostly seen with men. Once a girl came to me with a similar problem. She would scroll through her partner's sms'es to figure if she had said or done anything to hurt his sentiments. If she took a step forward to talk to him, he would back off and the next day say he loved her. She couldn't handle the mood swings and finally broke their relationship."
