KZK Utsav update for 26 April-

There's a board meeting to discuss Anurag's proposal to cover the Durga Pooja festival at Kolkata and two people vote in Anurag's favour- Prerna and Mr.Shukla. Rishabh calls Mr.Shukla and confronts him, asking why he voted for Anurag in the meeting.Shukla said that it was totally his decision because he has full confidence in Anurag's working.

Rishabh is not convinced by his answer and tells him that this channel does not work by his confidence in Anurag but the professional decisions that they take for the TRPs of the channel. Shukla tells him that he does not have anything more to clarify. Rishabh tells him that there's no need for him in the channel if this is the case. He asks Shukla to leave..Rishabh smirks to himself.

Anurag finds out that Rishabh has fired Shukla and is furious. He confronts Rishabh in the board meeting and swears at him. Rishabh tells him that this is a professional working area and he should keep his personal sentiments under a tab. Anurag continues to shout at him. Rishabh tells him to take the day off and they will talk the next day but Anurag does not give a damn. Rishabh loses his cool and tells Anurag that he can fire anyone and he need not claify to anybody and he's not answerable to anyone.

Prerna has a cold. Rishabh and Birju come with the cold pill. Prerna takes the pill and Rishabh tells her to take care of herself. Prerna reminds him of what happened in office and Rishabh tells her that he's forgotten it all as Anurag was in a foul mood. Prerna tells him that she knows she will get back at Anurag later but wont be able to do so because of her..Rishabh smirks and goes away..

Fee hike for Kyunki team

Balaji show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is bracing itself for yet another leap. The cast, gearing up for changes in their characters, once the story moves 20 years ahead, are also asking for fat raises.

If sources within the production house are to be believed, actors Ronit Roy, Hiten Tejwani, Shilpa Saklani, Gauri Pradhan, Tassnim Sheikh and Riva Bubber have planned to meet boss Ekta Kapoor, to ask for a fee hike. Said a Kyunki actor, "Yes, I am planning to meet Ekta. I will also discuss money, among other things."

When contacted, Shilpa Saklani, who is reported to have a major role to play post the leap, said, "I haven't had the meeting yet, but I am going for it with an open mind.

Balaji Telefilms has never given me any chance to complain, be it over money or any other issue. When I did Kkusum, it was only to gain financial independence, but the Kyunki team is like family and I am emotionally attached to the show."

Any agenda for the meeting? "I am not going with any preconceived notions. I will present my side and hear what they have to say. It's all about reaching a consensus."
25 per cent hike due

source from Balaji, who works on Kyunki, said, "The hike will vary for each actor, depending on the characters.

On the whole, there will approximately be a 25 per cent raise based on what the actors are getting at the moment. The hike will be anything between Rs 7,000 to Rs 10,000."

It is learnt that every character from the show's existing generation, will get raise.

"The current actors will all be a part of the leap. There will also be new actors joining the cast after the leap," the source added. Insiders reveal that actors aren't willing to share the amount of his or her hike with the others.

"A wait-and-watch approach is being used. Once a certain amount is confirmed, the actors will either accept that amount, or try and bargain for more. But at the end of the day, Ekta decides how much each person will get. In the bargain, don't be surprised if some members of the Virani family drop out," said another Balaji source.

Ronit Roy: Rs 50,000.
Shilpa Saklani: Rs 40,000.
Hiten Tejwani and Gauri Pradhan: Rs 35,000 to Rs 40,000, each

Rohit and Ronit Roy: Rohit has been in the industry since a very long time. Ronit who started of with films later stepped in televsiion. Both were spotted together in Sarrkkar


Any sort of rivalry is healthy if one knows where to draw the line. This mostly happens when two siblings are in the same profession. In our case it's the other side of the spectrum. There was a time when Ronit was going through a bad phase in his career, but I did pray for him and he did the same when things were not in my favour. I am not saying that we never fight, we probably have arguments on each and every issue!
