A dditi Gupta, Ekta Kapoor's latest find, was in the second year of her fashion designing course in Pune when she was spotted. "I was asked if I was willing to hop across to Mumbai and audition," she says. A couple of screen tests later, Gupta was selected to play the lead in Kis Des Mein Hai Merra Dil. A la Pardes? The soap will replace Kasauti Zindagi Kay from March 3 onwards on Star Plus. One look and you are remind- ed of the Shah Rukh Khan- Mahima Choudhary starrer Pardes. Gupta agrees, "Heer's parents arrange her marriage with their friend's son who's in Canada." The newcomer had to add an extra 'd' to her name before she signed on the dotted line at the behest of numerologist Sanjay B Jumaani. "Kapoor asked me to look at Additi's numbers and I found that they added to a lucky sum. However, the name did not give me good vibrations. That's why I asked her to add an extra d," says Jumaani who believes that Gup- ta's future is bright since she is ruled by the moon, which signi- fies romance and imagination. Going moony Apparently, even Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Dilip Kumar are ruled by the moon. The best part is that Gupta hasn't even met Ekta Kapoor yet. "Everything was decided over the phone," she smiles.
