On a bright Saturday morning Manoj Bohra whips up a wholesome breakfast for his family and girlfriend, at home in Khar. The wicked Yudi of Kasautii Zindagi Kay isn't so much of a villain on home ground, we soon learn. As for the food, the verdict is yet to come...
1. Mercury Rising
The living room seems to have been inspired by the Chateau de Versailles's famous Hall of Mirrors. While Manoj claims that they were all mounted for the benefit of his mother, we suspect that the actor too has a fondness for them. But apart from the mirrors, the 1,100 sq. ft flat is a reflection of the actor's simple tastes.
2. Sitting Pretty
The actor shares the flat with his parents. His sister, who used to live with them, took charge of decorating the place. She'd pick furniture and accessories from all over the country. For instance, the corner table is from Jodhpur. A self-confessed couch potato, Manoj spends most of his time in this room.
3. Me And My Girl
Wondering who she is? That's his girlfriend TJ Sidhu – a VJ.
They've been dating for... "…one year and four months," he says. TJ was responsible for Manoj's makeover. Earlier, he used to dress like the guy-next-door, until she chucked his clothes out of the window and got him a wardrobe to match his personality.
4. Electric Appeal
Mahendra Bohra, Manoj's dad, is a renowned Bollywood producer and both, he and his son are avowed gadget freaks. They must own the latest laptop, mobile phone and digital camera. Like most Bollywood fathers, we learn that Manoj's dad also intends to launch him as a hero in the Hindi film industry.
5. Window Gazing
Manoj uses the window sill above his bed while having tea and even his meals sometimes. The actor says alcohol and cigarettes are a big no-no for him. Apart from his daily work-out, he meditates religiously – it's a practice he has picked up from his girlfriend. The two are devoted Art of Living practitioners and swear by the philosophy.
6. Cook Na Kaho
Breakfast is ready. The chef for the day is excited that his father and girlfriend have proclaimed the food 'edible.' Manoj says that his mother and his girlfriend share a unique relationship. "Coming from Vancouver, Sidhu mostly speaks English and mom speaks Hindi. You have to hear them converse! It's great fun," he chuckles.
