SHABIR'S EXPERIENCE ON NACH BALIYE

He is cool and portrays a perfect spoilt brat Rishi.

Shabir is one of the few who got their real identity after he was
famous across the country as the flirty, womaniser, Rishi
Garewal. His role in Kahiin To Hoga made news as he flirted like
it was an all man's business. His dusky complexion and his
rugged looks stole hearts, but his moves on Nach Baliye with
co-host Sangita Ghosh skipped heart beats...

One word to describe your Nach Baliye experience?
Awesome, total fun!

Your experience before and after Nach Baliye?
First of all, now my schedule is not as hectic! (Laughs) Days
were always on the go, now I miss the action. People know me
as Shabir who plays Rishi Garewal, that feels good!

How was it like sharing the screen with the biggies - the jodis, judges?
The couples were all fun, I knew the jodis from before, the
judges were fun to be with, it was like a big nine week party…

Your favourite jodi?
Amit and Neeru, I think they had the chemistry, they were real good!

How was it like to dance with Sangita? Who according to you is the better dancer, you or her
Sangita is real good, definitely better than me, the best thing
about us dancing was that neither of us have any inhibitions.
We just move with the music.

Your best performance in Nach Baliye?
Many people think my performance in Samundar, in the fourth week was good, so I would go with that.

You will see more of me in Kahiin To Hoga and my next big
project will start in January, it's called Karmic Connection

SHABBIR'S FAVOURITE AND NOT SO FAVOURITE SCENE

Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham
Farhana Farook
Wednesday, June 21, 2006 19:30 IST

Khaas: I count the scene shot at Bandra Reclamation in 'Kahiin To Hoga' as my favourite one.
It involved a lot of speeding cars and required me to move my car in reverse.
It was a risky action scene and was well shot.

Bakwaas: I had to dress up as a lady in the same show to enter my girlfriend's hostel.
It embarrassed me!

BALAJI ALL SET TO LAUNCH SHABBIR'S FORTHCOMING SERIAL TITLED
"KIS RISHTEY SE"
SOURCE: TELLYCHAKKAR.COM
BY RIYA V ANANDWALA
DATE: 18 AUGUST 2006

Balaji all set to launch Kis Rishtey Se
The K factory (Balaji Telefilms) is all set with the starcast of its new show Kis Rishtey Se (KRS).

The show promises a great lineup of actors and the audience will see a few surprising faces too!
Panchi Bora (remember the lead of Kitni Mast hai Zindagi on MTV?) has been nailed down as the main protagonist of the show and the story revolves around her. While Shabbir Ahluwalia will play one of the male leads, the production house is still looking for the second one. Karan Wahi was offered the role earlier, but he turned it down as he desperately needed a break after continously doing Remix for Star One.
The audience is in for a major surprise as Supriya Pilgaonkar has been pencilled in for the show (playing Aarti). Ronit Roy will be seen portraying her husband (Inder).

He is currently doing two Balaji shows, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Thi and Kasautii Zindagi Kay.
Ipshita, the creative head for KRS says, "The story of this soap is about two families, Goinka's and Sherigill's." She adds, " More or less things have beenfinalized, only the actors have to be decided for the other house (Sherigill's- which belongs to the male protagonist)."
Apart from these boosters, Neena Kulkarni, Aaliya, Gaurav Gupta, newcomer Roshmita, will add more spice to the show.

Ipshita adds, " We haven't started shooting as of now, but it will happen soon."
The show is slated for the 10.00 p.m. slot on Star One and Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka will be pushed down to the 10.30 p.m slot.
KRS will certainly stand out amongst the other Balaji shows gushing in. The reason being Panchi Bora makes a comeback and Supriya enters the Balaji camp! And if this is not enough, Ronit and Shabbir 's charm will definitely strike the chord. What say?

Shabbir casanova in Kahin To Hoga

He's the casanova in Kahin To Hoga and the handsome host in Star One's Nach Baliye.
Off-screen too he's quite an interesting person. Check out his likes and dream possessions.

Your on-screen wardrobe:
With Nach Baliye, I have a theme with every episode.
So I'm really looking forward to dressing up according to that.
In Kahin To Hoga, I wear a lot of jackets, shirts and jeans.

Hairy tales:
I love experimenting with my hair.
In fact, my hairstyle on TV seems to be quite a hit, and I've found a lot of
technicians even on sets copying my hairstyle!

Off screen:
I'm a jeans, T-shirt and very often a sleeveless tee kind of a guy.

Shopping habits:
I am not a shopaholic.
I often end up buying all my clothes at one go, when I am on holiday.

Fetishes:
I love buying trendy, comfortable sandals and chappals!

On a date:
I would love my girl to be dressed in a sporty attire or power dress in a suit!
I am a man of extremes — it's either
the track-tee shirt careless look or the buttoned up power look that works for me.

Gifts you'd like:
Watches or wallets. They make perfect gifts for me, I love them!

My car:
I'm dying to buy myself a CRV or an SUV.
Hopefully, I will buy myself a Pajero next year! I am looking forward to that.

Favourite holiday destination:
I love New York and Montreal.
I love the easiness of Montreal-wine, lunch and light music.
The only part I don't like is the cold.New York is buzzing and alive — I love the craziness of New York!

Places I'm dying to see:
Egypt, Ibiza and also Brazil.
I always like to check out the natural beauty of a destination and then
check out the club scene at that particular place.
More than that I love to sleep and chill out in my hotel room before I begin clubbing and being touristy!

My suitcase:
I am a light traveller. And very often I end up packing myself!

SHABBIR'S RAKSHABANDHAN MEMORIES

DATE: August 9, 2006

When Shabbir Ahluwalia hurt his sister

Shabbir Ahluwalia (Rishi in Kahin To Hoga)
I can't remember a specific incident related to Raksha Bandhan,but there's a somewhat
unrelated event that I'll never forget.

An India-Australia match was being shown on television and India was losing.

A soft toy -- a monkey -- that belonged to my elder sister, was lying next to the TV.
When India lost, I got very angry and unleashed it on the soft toy.
I made it wear an Australian jersey and burnt it!

My sister was so hurt when I did this and she did not talk to me for one whole month.
That included the Raksha Bandhan day!

SHABBIR ON HIS FIRST TIME EXPERIENCE AND OTHER SECRETS

First crush: It was in my school days. There was this girl sitting next to me during my board exams. I had a huge crush on her, and even let her copy my paper.

First kiss: I can't tell you who it was with, but it was definitely between 1990 and 2000. You keep guessing when!

First time you saw an adult movie: It was in my school days. I saw it on the cable channel. Like every other guy in that age, I too was curious to watch one.

Ideal woman: I should be able to trust her completely. That's my first criteria. She should be intelligent, and able to think on her own. Of course she has to love me and take me as I am.

What turns you on in a woman: I love the way a woman's eyes light up when she smiles. That is a big turn on.

Are you open to kissing on big screen: Of course why not, but unlike Emran Hashmi who's called the serial kisser, I would be known as serial killer.

VIKAS-SHABBIR: FOOTBALL BUDDIES

By: Tushar Joshi
DATE: June 17, 2006

Kahiin To Hoga's Swayam (Vikas Sethi) and Rishi (Shabbir Ahluwalia) are hardcore sport enthusiasts.
Visit their sets in Sankraman and you will often find the two playing cricket
with the local boys.
However, these days like everyone else the soccer bug has bitten Vikas and Shabbir too.
Not only do they follow the matches closely but also try and meet up to watch the games
together.
We watched the opening match and it was good fun," says Shabbir.
"I can't miss watching the game, especially when Brazil is playing," says Vikas.

Here's getting a flavour of Shabbir's taste in football….
Shabbir Ahluwalia

Favourite footballer…
I love Ronaldinho.

Most memorable football match…
Barcelona vs Arsenal.

Your favourite team…
I am cheering for the Brazilian team this year.

Who do you think will win the World Cup this year?
Brazil, Germany or England.

Cricket or football?
Football, I used to play it during my childhood and still remain one of my most
favourite sports.

If you get a chance to play in a team which country would it be?
It would be really interesting to play for India. I think if we get a good
dedicated team then am sure there's no stopping us.

Who do you think will score the maximum goals this year?
Robben from Netherlands.

If Bend it like Beckham was to made in India, who would play the lead?
Let me think, actually I don't think anyone fits the bill.

The most underrated team…
Croatia and Netherlands. They have a huge chance of making it to the last rounds.

SHABBIR'S THOUGHT ON BIG B'S HEALTH

Should Big B slow down?
Amitabh Bachchan is in news again! But this time it's his health which is the talk of the town. The
question raised is that does he need to slow down on his work? Or is it a minor stomach pain that is
being hyped? Television personalities express their opinions about this recent turn of events and talk
about the superstar, whom they have all grown to love and admire.

Shabbir Ahluwalia
I don't really know about this. If he can, he should go on with his work. As once if a man retires or becomes less active then he dies down. Even after what is happening in his life right now, he can pull it off then great! See I can't really comment on such a situation actually.

SHABBIR'S THOUGHT ON EARLY TO BED, EARLY TO RISE

Vashi2Panvel.Com: Navi Mumbai
DATE: Sept 13

Do you belong to that genre that believes in the yesteryears' notion- 'early to bed and early to rise'?
If so, you could be an endangered species on the verge of extinction!
Today no one prefers to put the tag of the 'sages of yore' around one's neck.
The biological clock seems to be changing as youngsters now prefer night,
the ideal time for 'everything important'.
Who knows in some years we would start worshipping the setting sun instead of the rising!
But Shabbir Ahluwalia (Rishi of Kahin to hoga fame) does not appear to be a part of this 'late-
bandwagon'. He prefers not only getting up early on time but also sleeping early.
"I manage my shooting schedules such that I can sleep by eleven or latest by twelve.
I like getting up early; it makes me feel fresh the whole day."
