Mr. Bajaj looks at Prerna with tears and love in his eyes. He has never received so much love from any woman in his life. Prerna always understands him and he will try his hardest to do the same. Mr. Bajaj didn't need to say anything for Prerna can feel his love for her and her- their- family. Anurag: Par, Prerna, we didn't trust you at all…You are always there for us, and when you needed us, we abandoned you.
Prerna: Anurag, haalat hamare saat phir khelihi. The situation was such that Sharad made you guys blind in your love for your daughter. You guys always want the best for our families, which is why even God can't punish you.
With that said, Prerna and Bajaj leave the Basu house, only to run into Sam. Prerna: Sam, please take care of Anurag. Ab usiki thumare bahut zaroorat hain. He needs you Sam, he really does.
Sam: Don't worry Prerna, Anurag just needs time.
Meanwhile, Mukti is walking home from the temple, reminiscing on many memories. She slowly walks past the park and sees Prem at the Samadhi... Prem: Karan, I called you here to thank you for what you did at court yesterday…you know for Mukti. You did something, even I couldn't do.
Karan: Please, Prem, all I did was tell the truth. I still don't understand why you couldn't tell the truth in court, I know for a fact that you wanted to.
Prem: She didn't deserve what Sharad did to her. But what else could I do? I couldn't break my sister's heart. I know that doesn't give me the right to break Mukti's but…she already hated me for what I did to her in Panchmeshwar, and I thought this was something she would expect. So I just went with the "bad guy" routine.
Karan: Par, Prem, ultimately you are the one that saved her. Sirf tum. You brought me to court, and gave me the chance to tell the truth.
Prem: No, Karan…I hurt her. I did. I am. And I will. I can never give her the happiness she deserves because I have many weaknesses. And I just want to see her happy, even if she doesn't wish the same for me.
Mukti overhears this and is taken aback. She had herself fully convinced that Prem insaniyath ki layak hi nahi tha. But, this was totally unexpected. Karan was about to leave when he sees Mukti. Karan: Mukti, tum yahan?
Mukti: Haan, mein abhi mandir se ghar...listen, thank you. You know for what you said at court.
Karan: Arey, no problem. I misbehaved with you in the past, and this was my opportunity to redeem myself. Aur phir, thanks toh Prem ko bhi kehna hey.
And with that Karan leaves. Mukti is just standing there staring at Prem's back. She walks up to him and… Mukti: Prem, woh… I never knew.
Prem: Please Mukti, don't. Don't make me feel like I did something great. I didn't, okay.
Mukti: Lekin Prem, tu toh apne behen ki bareyn mein soch raha tha. Isme galat kya hain? Honestly Prem, as hurt as I felt, now I feel relieved to have known why you took Sharad's side.
Prem looks around to Prem 1's Samadhi as it starts drizzling… Prem: Mukti, woh dekho. Yeh, meri bhai kah Samadhi hain. This place is my sanctuary…I come here to think and whatever I say here, turns out to be my deepest feelings. I don't know why, but this is the only place I feel human. And I promise on my brother that I will make it up to you. I will bring the old Mukti back, wahi hasne jagadthe wali Mukti. The real Mukti I knoew and love…
Mukti suddenly looks up, with tears in her eyes. Mukti: kya kahan tumne??
Prem realizes what he has said… Prem: woh, mein kuch nahi…
Mukti: Prem, please don't lie. I heard you. You said 'I love you'
Prem: Nahi, mein aisa kuch bhi nahi kaha tha.
Mukti puts her hands up to his face and turns it so its facing her. Mukti:, in tears, pleads: Prem, please sach kaho. Meri aankohn mein dekh kar bataaon ke tum mujhse pyaar nahi karta.
Prem: is in tears now as well…"Please Mukti, don't make me…I'm not fit for this at all. I cannot love. I can only give hurt"
Mukti: Please Prem, I don't need anything else. I wont ask for anything. Just tell me you love me. I can die after that. I don't need anything else Prem. Please…
By this time, it started pouring, almost simultaneous with the lovers' tears.
Prem: Mukti, please Mukti…I can't do this to you. Every girl has dreams and hopes about their future, their life-partner, and their life together. You know me Mukti, I am not made for this.
Mukti: Nahi Prem, Yudi prem ki layak nahi tha. Lekin tu toh Prem hon. Meri Prem. MERI PREM. I LOVE YOU PREM!! I LOVE YOU.
Mukti continues crying, standing there. She couldn't handle it anymore and starts to walk away…when Prem holds her hand.
Prem: I love you too Mukti. I love you too.
With that he kisses her forehead. And they embrace each other in the rain…making promises to each other…about their love and life…
