TV tycoon invites applications for the female lead of her next big soap Kya Hoga Nimmo Kya. Go for it!
The search for Nimmo is in full throttle. Balaji's new show Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka, is eagerly looking its main protagonist – a girl called Nimmo. "Nimmo has to be a combination of Preity Zinta and Kajol," says producer Ekta Kapoor.
Balaji has been hunting for the perfect Nimmo for sometime now. "My team has been travelling to various cities for auditions." But they still haven't found the girl that producer Ekta Kapoor has visually imagined.
Although the show had been planned a lot earlier, it was only recently that an official announcement was made about it going on air this December. It is slotted to replace Nach Baliye on Star One. "I'm looking at making it really different from my other shows. The entire attitude of this show is going to be very humorous," she smiles.
So what kind of mental sketch did Ekta make of her new (and as yet undiscovered) star? "Nimmo is accident prone and a mishap queen, who invariably lands up in some tricky situation or other. But what sets her apart from other girls is her sense of humour," Ekta reveals. The producer goes on to say that Nimmo is a reflection of her own personality. "She has to have intelligence, and a caring attitude. It doesn't matter if she isn't a beautiful-looking girl. But she has to have that indescribable X-factor that makes her stand out."
With this new production, Ekta will be breaking away from the image she has set of making marathon shows. "Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka will be divided into two seasons. Season one will be wrapped up after exactly 105 episodes. Then, after a break of three months we start the second season. I've already chalked out my plans for it."
Ekta says that there is too much pressure on her on account of the imminent deadline – they only have two months to go on air. "Can you imagine that we haven't found our main protagonist as yet? And finding her isn't our only criterion. We have to give her rigorous training. She'll have to attend the acting work shops that are conducted for trainees. It's a long process." And that's exactly why Balaji is desperately awaiting the Preity Zinta-Kajol kind of girl.
So, who's going to get lucky? Bet that's a question every girl vying for the position is wondering.

Happy-go-lucky, Nimmo is content with her own personality and appearance. The story then details what happens when Nimmo marries into a Punjabi family.
