What's up with the morality and values at TV soaps being aired recently? Remember Arth by Mahesh Bhatt, which redefined the relationship and marriage on big screen. Do the latest TV serials or for the matter of fact the K serials with loads of saris and sindoors taking up this issue sensitively. I am not sure if it is doing so.

Take for instance Tulsi of Kyuki saas. She seems to maintain her image and is away from this type of flirting/flitting out of marriage. Let us have a look at other K serials. Kasauti Zindagi Ki is doing quite well with Prerna as lead who is being attached to Anurag married thrice and Mr. Bajaj. She is going back and forth between these two men. Kashish is going to be married for the 3rd time. Shruti of Kahani Ghar Ghar ki is with second man as of now and the other famous Bahu Parvati is getting ready for her second marriage with none other then Mohnish bahl.

This type of change of men for lead women of famous serials could be seen often in K serials. For instance in K street Pali Hill Simran gave her husband to Anju as she liked someone else. Is this all a question of morality or does assertiveness of women is growing in our society.

i think that it is about change of women's role in society where the woman instead of living through a bad relationship breaks off from it and moves on in life...

the fact that a widow will remarry is a giant leap...it shows that a widow have a life too...so what if she has grown up children...she needs a partner in her old age...

getting married twice is ok...having had 2 broken relationships is ok...maybe when it becomes a case of 3 or more , morality can be questioned...it might be a case of jsut bad luck or serious lack of commitment!

I agree with admail. Prerna oscillating between Bajaj and Anurag is too
weird for me. However with the other cases that you have spoken about:

Parvati: widow
Kashish: widow
Shruti:divorcee

Doesnt a widow, irrespective of her age deserve to be happy. If she does
fall in love or look for support in another man I dont see any harm in it. I
think the same applies to divorcees. People make mistakes. It is better to
admit to your mistake and get seperated. After this you have the right to
start a new life.

In fact, these aspects (the remarraige) give me some hope about the way
the way Ekta is projecting women. I mean look at the other examples she
gives. A woman who wants to work, is confident liberated is evil. At least
with the remarraiges she encourages millions of people to think that may
be the ignored and shunned women have a life too and deserve a chance
at happiness
