It's the season for reality shows and our channels and their creative heads are knocking their greys together to bring on just about everything they can on dancing! After a high voltage drama that we witnessed on 'Nach Baliye' and the tantrums and the moments that we caught on 'Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa', Zee and 9X decided to cash in on their own dance reality shows.

Zee is coming up with 'Rock and Roll Family' - a dance reality show comprising three generations in the family. Our well placed sources say that they are all set to give Sony's Boogie Woogie a run for thier money! No celebs, no high voltage drama - just a plain dance show with a different concept. And Zee's not alone in this game.

9X is pulling its punches with 'Yeh Hai Jalwa', a dance reality show which will have nine celeb contestants who will head nine teams each comprising of five common people.The format of the show is different from other reality shows as both common people and celebrities will participate together.

For example if a team is headed by Prachi Desai then all other five participants from her team will be housewives and if we have Sharad Malhotra then he would head a team of five people with blue collared jobs. And the names that are being whispered on the hosts are none other than the iconic daughters-in-law of television Smriti Irani and Sakshi Tanwar. With them in the show as hosts and big names participating in Jalwa the show will sure be a hit with the viewers," adds the source. And a little birdie tells us that Rakhi Sawant, who post 'Nach Baliye Season 3' turned away from reality shows has been signed on 'Yeh Hai Jalwa'. Well, 9X has realised that it's the season to pull out all the punches and they are doing just that and more.

And now that the Zee and 9X have got something new on their plate, wonder what Star and Sony are going to pull out! Sony's already working on a project with the television fraternity and its scheduled to hit the small screen during the Holi.

Star's trying to rope in Juhi Chawla for its 'Rock and Roll', but sources say that the project's still under consideration. But till then, they do have some stiff competition going in because to give due credit to the channels and the creative heads, both the offings of 9X and Zee TV are a shade bit different to the usual run-of-the mill reality shows that we've been dished out over the last couple of seasons.

The channel wars sure are heating up at the moment with just about every channel trying to get the best cut in the pie.
