Helloooooooooooooo…

Okay, so you can tell I am a little hyper, and that's why I decided to start a new fanfic… *Disclaimer* I might not always be this hyper meaning you might not get an update everyday… but you will get it often enough…

This fanfic is just a simple one, it has no dramatic things, just simple emotions and simple relationships…

Hope you like it!

Part 1

The camera was set, Jai waited for his next guest to arrive to the set so he could record the show and get back to his family as it was Diwali. He wondered why this woman would set time out on such a day to do the interview when everyone else seems to be running away from such work.

He looked at his notes for his guest:

Name: Bani Dixit

Age: 23

Occupation: CEO of her father's company and has been taking care of it for the past year or so, ever since her father fell ill.

That is surprisingly all he had found in all his research. She was a girl who didn't give any interviews and it had taken him a lot of work and energy to get her to agree to come to the show, just once.

Everyone had said that she would fall on her face because she was taking over such a big company at such a young age, but she seemed to be excelling at her job. Jai was impressed.

He glanced at his watch, exactly 4 minutes left before she was due to arrive. From what he heard, she was punctual to the dot, so he figured he better freshen up so he can welcome her right away.

He had found a picture of her when she was 16, at a party with her father, wearing braces and looking really young and nerdy. He figured what kind of woman she had grown into.

The camera was set into place, Jai took a sip of water and made sure everything was perfect, he was a perfectionist but only to a certain level. He allowed other people to do their work and tried not to interfere into their lives. A huge rush of people came in, indicating that Bani had arrived in front of the building. He took one last look around, and then got up ready to welcome her into the set.

Bani put her white furry coat on, as it was getting chilly. She looked down at her watch, exactly a minute left till she was due to meet Jai Walia. She had never agreed to an interview before but right now there were two logical reasons why she agreed, one because this was the perfect timing to publicize for their next product as Jai Walia Show had a huge viewer ship behind it. The other reason she had agreed was because she needed to do it sooner or later, she didn't do it sooner because by then she didn't have evidence of the fact that she was a good CEO. Now, after having her father's company for over a year, she could show just what she was made up of.

And she had seen a couple of episodes of Jai Walia's show and knew this was the perfect way to come out into the open.

She walked inside the room and could sense the environment of the place was friendly, it must have been fun to work in such a place. She stepped through the seconds set of doors, right into the middle of the set with the spotlight on her.

Jai noticed that Bani was comfortable with herself entirely. There was no sense of self doubt on her face, or any form of nervousness at coming on a national show.

Bani turned and came face to face with Jai Walia, he was even more good looking in real life then in his show. She took a step towards him, and noticed his slow wicked smile. "No wonder his show is so famous."

Jai extended his hands, and Bani took them and shook his hands firmly. They both felt a weird sensation pass through them but both were too professional to make a deal out of it. She smiled back at his gaze and then took her hand back and placed it on the file in front of him.

"Is this the stuff you have found out about me?" Bani took the file in her hand and chucked it behind her even without reading it, "Trust me, you will find out more about me in this interview then you probably found out in all your research."

"Well I look forward to it, you don't seem normal," Jai smiled wondering what Bani's reaction would be.

"Most girls would take as an offense, I don't mind because where is the fun in being normal." Bani beamed at the challenge in Jai's eyes. "Let's start?"

"Let's go." Jai extended his hands to lead Bani to the set.

"I can lead myself, thank you." Bani had learned to be the leader rather then the follower and things only worked for her that way.

The two of them seated and the typist took out the keywriter to write the script as it would probably be needed for records.

The lights dimmed down a little bit and the focus came down on Jai Walia.

Jai Walia: Good morning ladies and gentleman. Today I would like to say we are grateful that our guest has agreed to give her first interview with us. At the young age of 22, she took over her father's company and when people thought that she would not succeed, she proved them all wrong. Her company, Dixit Industries, went from being number 3 to number 2 and is working its way up to the first spot. Ladies and Gentleman, I would like to welcome you to our guest for the morning, Miss Bani Dixit. Welcome.

Bani Dixit: Thank you, that was rather sweet. I would like to say that I am grateful to be on this show as well. It is a well known one and that was one of the primary reasons why I agreed to come on it.

Jai Walia: So, how does it feel to be the head of such a big company at such a young age.

Bani Dixit: It is an adventure on its own. I grew up with my father always talking about business and so I always knew that I would grow up and do the same thing. Its exciting discovering the oh so many aspects of owning and running a successful business.

Jai Walia: So does your age ever come as a hindrance to your job?

Bani Dixit: Quite honestly, all the time. People hear my name and they say "Oh a Dixit, she must be really good" but then they look at my age and disregard me. It took me a lot of work at the beginning to get people to stay with the company because most of them were leaving as they found out about my father no longer being the head. But I think by now, I have proven myself enough to hold my own place in the industry.

Jai Walia: The reports surely agree with that statement. Does this job come in your personal life? I mean girls your age, are looking for a prospective husband, being the head of the company, does it take up a lot of your time and energy?

Bani Dixit: You sound like my mother, always telling me that this isn't the age for me to be working 24/7 rather time for me to go out and explore as she puts it. Honestly, I don't think I am missing out on anything. Love is overrated, it has been exaggerated to become this big thing but honestly, its really not.

Jai Walia: Are you saying you don't believe in love and marriage?

Bani Dixit: What I am saying is that love is just two people who get along with each other. There is no such thing as hearing music in the background or feeling as if the earth has been taken away from underneath one's feet.

Jai Walia: A pessimist?

Bani Dixit: No, a realist.

Jai Walia: Interesting, so what about marriage? Not on your cards?

Bani Dixit: My mother would kill me if I say no its not on my cards. But honestly, I haven't found a person who will be able to tolerate me for the rest of my life or a man who I can tolerate for more then five minutes.

Jai Walia: Well, we have been here for more then five minutes and you haven't gotten around to killing me yet.

Bani Dixit: We are also on national television.

Jai Walia: Okay, so can I infer that you have no boyfriend in your life right now?

Bani Dixit: I don't understand how the world will benefit from this piece of knowledge but since you asked, then no, I don't have anyone special in my life.

The interview continued for a few more minutes, talking about Bani's goals in terms of her company as well as her future projects. Jai noticed a lot about her but the first one that was the most evident was her practicality in everything. She was not a girl who dreamt big fairytales or had the image of happily ever after, and for some reason Jai felt like giving it to her, he felt like she deserved it, deserved to feel it at least a little part of it.

Hope you guys liked it! Please do leave any comments and or suggestions as well as anything you would like to see! J

Thanks!

Thank You so much for your sweet comments! Here is the next update, hope you guys like it.

Chapter 2

As soon as the interview ended, Bani made her way to the back of the crowd to answer the missed calls on her cell phone. There were four missed calls from her mother and Bani rolled her eyes as she dialed to hear her voicemail.

Bani's mother was a nutcase in her own way, she was obsessed with getting her daughter married off right away. Kiran had a list of guys everyday when Bani went home that by now she expected to see at least three guy pictures a day.

She listened to the message of her mom rambling off about a guy named Rahul Khanna, someone her mother thought was perfect. Bani wondered how many guys her mother had thought she would be perfect with in the last month or so.

On the other hand, her father was staying at home as the doctor had told him to focus on his health after getting a third heart attack. Bani knew all the stress that had been on her father over the years and now it was her turn to take it away it away from him and provide him with some relaxation time.

Bani finished listening to her private messages and left the office messages for later. She turned around to find Jai Walia standing there, talking to her agent. She walked up to him to say a final goodbye.

"Thank you for having me here, it was quite fun talking to you," Bani extended her hand to say goodbye.

"Well then don't I deserve a treat for such a good interview, an interview that will probably boost your career even more." Jai winked at Bani.

Bani shook her head slightly, "Wasn't this your job? But, nonetheless, what would you like as a treat?"

"Promise me you will not say no," Jai wanted the promise before he laid out his proposition.

"Fine," Bani mostly said fine because curiosity would kill her if she didn't find out what exactly it was that Jai wanted.

"Okay, dinner tomorrow night at 8." Jai saw from Bani's face that if he hadn't made her promise, she would have said no without thinking about any other response.

"No," Bani wondered what she had gotten herself into.

"You promised. I will pick you up," With that said, Jai walked away before Bani could come up with an excuse.

"You don't know where I live," Bani called after him.

"My research isn't that bad," Jai smiled as he walked away into the crowd of people getting ready for the next set of interviews.

Bani wondered what she had gotten herself into. She shook her head as she headed towards her car. Great, now she was going to have to change her schedule around to go on a date with this man that she barely even knew. No, it wasn't a date, just fulfilling a promise.

The next day, Bani was running behind on her entire schedule and by the time she finished at 7:30 she wanted nothing more then to take a hot bath and slip into her bed. She made her way into her house, when she suddenly remembered her date with Jai. She rummaged through her entire closet trying to decide what to wear. She had no idea what kind of place he planned on taking her so she dressed in a semi casual, semi formal dress. She remembered how her mother said it was a killer dress, but obviously that wasn't the reason why she was wearing it.

She brushed up her face and put a little bit of makeup as her mother would die of shame if she didn't dress up properly. The bell rang and Bani realized that he had come 15 minutes earlier then the time he had said. She cursed him as she opened the door but was surprised to see her mom standing on the other side.

Kiran Dixit took one glance at her daughter, "Please tell me what I am thinking is true. Please."

"No mother, it is no big deal, just dinner with a friend," Bani wondered if her mom had found only this time to spring up on her.

"Well, now I have to meet this fella," Kiran had been trying to get her daughter to go out with anyone for the longest time but Bani was always covered with work.

"Mamma, please not now. Go…" Bani almost pleaded with her mother.

Kiran walked into the house and started cleaning it, "You should clean your house, what kind of impression are you setting for your future husband!"

"FUTURE HUSBAND? Oh mom, I am not going to marry every guy I talk to. I might not even marry after all," Bani knew she was in for another lecture as soon as she said that.

"Oh God, see what kind of headache my daughter gives me everyday…" Kiran looked up indicating towards the God residing up in the sky.

Bani smiled and smacked her head, "Can we have this repeated conversation some other time? Honestly, Jai might be here anytime now, so you should probably leave."

Just as Bani said that, the bell rang and Kiran had the biggest smile on her face, "Don't worry honey, I can go open the door."

"No, mom, I got it." Bani almost ran to open the door. She didn't even give Jai a chance to look at her properly before she started talking, "My mother is inside. You will have to meet her because if I don't introduce her to you, she will never ever talk to me again. Promise me that you will be nice and the conversation will be done in less then 5 minutes."

"Okay," Jai found the entire situation way too amusing, to not laugh. He stepped inside the house and a lady that looked a lot like Bani came up and gave him a huge hug. Jai hugged back, wondering if Bani would look like this in 30 or so years.

"Oh, I am so glad that Bani is going out somewhere, I feel like I have seen you. Oh my God, you are Jai, the Jai Walia!" Kiran wasn't surprised that her daughter had gotten someone so hot to go out with but was surprised that she had agreed.

"I think I am the one who should be glad that your daughter agreed to go on this date with me," Jai saw from the corner of his eyes that Bani was embarrassed to the core, and he gave her a cheeky smile to which she just snarled.

After talking for a few more seconds, Bani basically pushed herself out of the house with Jai, "Finally, sorry you had to deal with that."

"Your mother is one woman, I really admire her." Jai said as he opened the car door for Bani.

Bani sat inside, appreciating the fact that he was being kind about her mother, and sounded as if he genuinely meant it. "She is, isn't she."

"I am sure she is planning our wedding right now," Jai said to lighten up the mood again.

It did exactly that as Bani burst into laughter, "I wouldn't be surprised, she has been on my case for the longest time."

"I am surprised a girl like you hasn't found anyone yet…" Jai basically just wanted to know if she was with anyone.

"Well no time for sure, and on top of that what is the use?" Bani wondered out loud.

"Time you can make if you really want to make it, like right now. And the use… don't all girls have the happily ever after ending dream?" Jai was intrigued by Bani because she was different then anyone else he had met before.

"Happily ever after is a dream, that's all it really is. Honestly, all guys at this age want is sex and I have no time for all the drama that comes with it," Bani said all of that so matter of factly.

Jai almost pressed the break too hard, surprised at what Bani had just said, "Is that what you think of all guys, all they want is sex?"

"Isn't true? Don't you want that, too?" Bani found the entire amusing.

Jai wasn't sure how he was supposed to respond to that, it was so out of the blue, "Wait a second, you mean… NO! That's not all what guys want, there is a lot more to a relationship between a girl and a guy then just sex."

"I find it funny that a guy is saying that when usually that should be my line. But come on, when you look at a girl, isn't the first thought that goes through your head, damn she is hot, I would like some of that. Or man, she is ugly, poor guy who has to be with her." Bani thought back to the last guy she had let come close to her.

"Sure we analyze the person when we first see them but its not just about sex, and its certainly never always about sex. When I first talked to you, I was like, wow she is different, I would like to get to know her. There was no sex involved in that." Jai wondered what had happened to Bani to make her so cynical about guys.

Bani shrugged, hoping that would be enough to change the subject. They had been sitting in the car for a while, "Where exactly are we going? It seems far."

"Well, I figured you probably had a rough day since I screwed up your schedule and nothing relaxes more then a long car drive with the wind blowing on your face." Jai loved long drives and the place where he wanted to take Bani would fulfill that desire.
