GD: See!! Who am I supposed to annoy if he steals you??? And with that Jai and Raichand Walia laughed at the expression she had!
DM: Oh! I am done with the both of you and she walked away!
Jai and Raichand looked at each other and Jai was going to cajole his grandmom, but his grandpa was already at it.
GD: Oh, come on it was a joke! I am sorry! He said trying to control the smile that was sneaking on his lips.
DM: Look, to make up for this, you have to promise me that Jai will agree to a marriage.
GD: Yes, like I said before and he walked away smiling…
In Jai's room
GD: Jai Walia! You listen to me! Your grandmom and I think it is high time for you to get married." He said shouting at the top of his lungs so that his wife could hear him and then in a softer tone asked Jai how the business meeting went.
Jai used to this smiled at his granddad and refused loudly just like he did everytime, with a retort coming back from his granddad and then him closing the door with a loud bang and his granddad doing the same.
Of course dadi knew what happened upstairs and shook her head. She couldn't wait for Jai to get married. She was nearly 76 and she knew she didn't have much time, especially after going through a bypass surgery. She really wanted to see him settled and have some sort of stability in his personal life.

S: Jai??? He stopped abrubtly, just enough for Bani to pull the carpet from underneath his leg so he would fall flat on his butt.
S: Ouch!!
J: What me calling you is ouch????? I am going to hurt you dude!
B: That should do for now, Bani thought contently… I am not done Sahil, she shouted at Sahil on her way out!!
S was now hearing way too many comments, and none of them being positive and his butt hurt!!!
S: I sure have a lot of people who wan to hurt me, he muttered to himself.
J: What?? He asked??
S: Sorry Jai, what's up dude?? He asked wincing slightly
J: You are coming this Saturday aren't you? I just wanted to remind you of our annual meeting according to the charter…you still coming right??

J: I know, but it has been 6 months since we have seen Pushkar, and a year with Ranveer. We have to continue our tradition.

Ranveer said apologetically to Rano, his 13 year old neice's tuiton teacher. She had been teaching Rhea for the past 6 years and had been living in their outhouse as a all purpose worker, even though she had come to teach. But, she didn't mind, because the extra earning allowed her to still go to college and try to pursue her dream. She took pride in earning her way, even though she cleaned the house or tutored Rhea. For her any job that held dignity was good enough for her.
Ranv: Let me help you, he said offering assistance with all the papers she was picking up after Rhea.
Rano: No, Ranveer let it be. It was another part of pride, she was paid to do her job, and she wouldn't allow help.
Ranv: Don't be stubborn Rano, I am just helping you clean up.
Rano: No, Ranveer let it be. Why don't you go and relax? I will finish up here and finish cooking.
Ranv: That's okay, Rhea, and I will get take out food.
Rano: No, I promised Rhea that I would make some parathas, it won't take that long. Anyways, I promised your bhai and bhabi that I wouldn't let you guys' health spoil and I don't want to disappoint them.
Ranv: You know they wouldn't be disappointed by you Rano.
Rano: I know, they care too much, but I earn my way here Ranveer and I don't want to be a burden. Let it be, why don't you go to and watch TV. I'll get dinner in a half-hour.
Ranv: Rano, don't you have class in the evening?
Rano: Yep, that is why I am going to cook and then head over to college.
Ranv: You know if you cook, you have to eat too?
Rano: I'll eat something later, Ranveer don't worry. You go on.
Ranveer shook his head and walked out. Before he left, he took one last look at her beautiful face and walked out.
Rano stared after him and wished things were different. She was his maid (well, not really, but kind of), she wasn't embarrassed because she made an honest living, but he was the heir to a multi-million dollar industry and she was just a woman who cleaned after him. IF only….she smiled at her Cinderella state and went back to work….
