Hissstory? Ekta Kapoor and Smriti Irani in happier times

Smriti Irani's exit from Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi has stirred controversy, and Ekta Kapoor's temper. From what we hear, the small-screen's favourite producer has been quite perturbed ever since Smriti broke the news to her.

Recently, at Future Studios at Goregaon, the unit of Kyunki…saw a bit of real-life drama on the sets. Ekta stormed into the sets, and began yelling at her former blue-eyed girl Smriti. Our sources inform us that among many other things, she shouted that Smriti was unprofessional and self-centred. She even went on to say that Smriti owes her star status to her.

Those well-acquainted with the TV industry know that when Ekta is in a foul mood there is no stopping her. However, while she could not keep a check on her temper, Ekta's desperation came through when she told Smriti that the creative team of Kyunki… was weaving the storyline around Tulsi just to retain her in the show. Despite this when Smriti refused to listen to her, she again plunged into anger, and continued abusing. Obviously Ekta knows that Smriti's exit from Kyunki… will affect the show's TRPs adversely.

Smriti kept quiet for a while, but before long she too gave a piece of her mind to Ekta. She reminded Ekta that she had continued with the show despite not being happy with the storyline and multiple generation leaps. Smriti explained that it would be impossible for her to carry on any more.

Call it the flipside of desperation, Ekta again launched into a verbal attack calling Smriti selfish and immature. After a while, a fuming Ekta left the place. Since then, both of them have not spoken to each other. What is there to say, anyway?
