And it's not only Bollywood, that seems to be smitten by this new-scenic-property-on-the-block. Even soap queen Ekta Kapoor has been unable to ward off Turkey's charms. The producer has shot two of her primetime serials Kasamh Se and Kayamath in the country. Her outdoor schedules were blended evenly with a vacation with close friends. The crew of Kasamh Se has recently returned from their shooting in Turkey, while the cast of Kayamath will be leaving soon. Says Nivedita Basu, the creative head of Ekta's production house, "It was one of the best outdoors we've ever had. Barring the language problem, the place is just perfect." She adds, that the locals and the government are extremely co-operative and the place is ideal for shooting. "We shot near the banks of the Bosphorus river and it's one of the most beautiful places ever. The weather's also perfect," she adds.
Actor Ronit Roy, part of the Kasamh Se team, that's recently back from shooting there couldn't agree more and says, "It's a beautiful place. It's got some quaint little cafes, which I found extremely nice. Now, I'm looking forward to going there with family." And though he regrets not having too much time to check out the nightlife, thanks to their hectic schedules, "I'll definitely make up for it when I visit the place with my family for a vacation soon," he laughs.
