What is ’Anupam Kapadia’?

Here is a theory I have been working on:

What is "Anupam Kapadia"?

As a viewer, I was greatly disturbed by the "yeh mera bacha hai scene".
Pia, lying in Jai Walia's arms faking her death after being fakely shot by
Anupam Kapadia. A highly emotional Jai Walia, with tears in his eyes,
leans forward to place a kiss on her forehead. Jai Walia says to Anupam
Kapadia "yeh mera bacha hai...tumne ise kyon mara...Mein apne bache ke
liye kuch bhi kho sakta hoon" (the dialogue is something like this).
Meanwhile, the witness to this scene besides the viewers, Anupam
Kapadia, his wife, is none other than Jai Walia's own beloved wife Bani
Walia. On her first wedding anniversary, her sister Pia, and her beloved
husband Jai Walia, give her the ultimate wedding gift. A betrayal. Bani
Walia finds out the real identity of her sister's unborn child's father. It's
not Anupam Kapadia, its Jai Walia. Pia gets up and says to her elder sister
Bani without any remorse in her voice "sorry Di-Yeh Bacha Jai Walia Ka
hai". Pia says these words very confidentally as if she has won some sort
of a race with her Di regarding providing Jai Walia with an heir. I am not
going to delve in the background relationship of JW, BW and PS.

My sole purpose in writing this is to try to find a way to redeem one of my
favorite characters, Jai Walia. I want him restored back to his confident,
arrogant self. I want him to be a businessman, a family man, and most of
all a man in love with his wife. But I don't want him to be guilty of
something he doesn't even remember doing. I don't want him to be
emotionally manipulated by his sister, Jigyasa, Bani's sister, Pia or for that
matter anyone else. I don't want his character to be ruined so Pia's
character can get more screen time. Jai Walia is a strong character. Jai
Waila needs to be back in control of the game. Basically, I just want him
in control.
And I am just trying to see if I, as a viewer, missed something regarding
Jai Walia. And "Anupam Kapadia". So, what is "Anupam Kapadia"? Was
"Anupam Kapadia" Jai Walia's masterplan in the first step towards the
discovery of the real truth?

(or have the writers really truly messed Jai Walia up)

Anyways, Here goes
A theory:

1) Karuna-JW's cousin sister in Dubai. JW is with Pia, Karuna is with two
kids and JW has an interaction with her regarding something about being
a mother. He does not reognise her (or does he)?

2) Karuna, is privy to information regarding Pia drugging JW. Karuna has
not revealed to JW the truth about Pia (or has she)? Her reason for non-
revelation is that she thinks it would destroy JW more than he already is
destroyed. Karuna tells Pia that it will be your own betrayal that will
destroy you. Powerful words. Is this a foreshadow concerning Pia's
destruction.

Now I come to Anupam Kapadia.

1-JW puts AK as name of the father(why AK)
2-lets Pia know that he erased his name
3-Jigs knows AK and JW knows AK (AK are performers)
4)Pia causes a scene-JW questions himself 'what is pia upto'?
5)-JW says how can u say its your child to AK-"mera baccha he-" JW
insists its his child
6)-sees Bani standing there overhearing all this (he had seen Bani with
Rashi wanting ot follow Pia and AK)

The objective here would be to find out the real truth from Bani-(how she
lost their child)
And how far would Pia go to hurt her own sister-Pia's true intentions...
And who JW/Bani's enemies are...
Let's say plan backfires, instead of Bani getting angry and blurting out the
truth, she gets emotionally hurt, goes into her zombie state, he gets
thrown out of the house-
Meanwhile, he does give Bani his property rights, half of everything he
owns…
JW gets deeper into trouble when Bani continues in her zombie state for
days-to get her out of it He does that "I want to marry Pia drama and
hurts Bani more-saying Pia was my first love—blah ..blah..JW does some
double talk there-"why can't you forgive a mistake' Why did you abort my
child? You asked for divorce from me…These questions are not to this
day answered by Bani.
(all this is done to try to find the real truth)


Remember Pushkar's dialogue how Bani is JW's shield-
Also, the fact that Bani has not told JW why she wanted the divorce(he
hasn't heard it from her-and who are the culprits &how
she lost the baby-He knows she'll never tell him regarding that...
Massi letting him know what Bani did for him...and his enemies are his
own people...(no names were mentioned)
Also, when they were alone in the snow lodge -Bani says -if something
happens to u -I won't be able to live without u..

Anupam Kapadia is a catalyst for Jai Walia to find the real truth behind
Bani's behavior during divorce/alimony issue-Bani loosing their child and
to find out who the real enemies.
Also, JW wants Bani to be stronger, think for herself-(referring to the
dialogue with his unborn child-he says your mother knows how to live for
others, she will live for you)
JW somehow is aware that there is danger lurking around him and Bani
has always protected him- He want Bani out of the way. He has already
made sure Bani will be taken care of and he will make sure He protects
Bani always. (reference-the scene with the Panditji-JW standing behind
Bani as a kind of a Protector)
With Bani out of his way-door open for enemies galore to enter...
(if Bani disappears then some part of JW's plan backfires)?

J/P baby scenario-let's assume he played along with her so she wouldn't
do something crazy like abort the child-he has seen Pushkar's reaction to
Pia being pregnant any normal man could tell that Pushkar feeling that
confident about his child is the real father.

I only want JW get to the bottom of the truth himself... and come back full
in control. 😉

This is just a theory- might have loopholes galore 😆

For once I would like to se that he is the mastermind behind the whole truth fiasco to show Bani what kind of sister she is and what lenghts she can go to destroy her.

u made a good point-Jai remembering exactly what happened that nite-
but if he was drugged, he must have passed out-But I have high hopes on
Karuna. I liked her from the beginning. I like her look a lot-she looks
good with JW. I just want the R****** out of the picture-she can jump off
a cliff -i don't care. I think now she is going ot go into Bani killer mode-
meaning If I can't have JW then no one can.-

That really is some analysis regarding JW's redemption and it is clear that you have put so much thought and effort into it. I agree with Krishna in that I hope the creatives redeem JW in a unique way.

The way I see it is that 3 things and 3 people need to communicate and connect the dots to complete the redemption picture - JW, Pushkar and Karuna. JW is the victim here, Pushkar knows that there is a CD and he has to get the DNA reports. Karuna knows about the drugs in his drinks. JW does not remember anything. So the creatives need to bring out the DNA reports and the unedited CD to redeem JW. Here I am assuming Pia is the one who has taped the whole thing. The creatives can complicate it further by adding Nachiket/Barnali angle.

love your input. But what happens if the DNA reports are tampered with, I
am only saying this bc I don't trust the thingy and her doctor- first she
ahd a female doctor who was or looked like she was buddies with Jigs,
then after she went to Tirupati(see her Tirupati trip is open for
interprtation)she had a male dr. even Bani mentions that she doesn't
know who this dr. is. And when Bani goes to ask to ask for thingys
reports, the dr. printer is down-the close-up shot reveals that the folder
titled Piya Shukla is empty(a blooper?) -I don't have high hopes for DNA-
unless they want to turn the story around-quite a few possibilities exist-

1)thingy is not preg.(Jigs and Thingy's fullproof plan to get Bnai out of the
way and for thingy to get JW-which Jigs and Push will never allow)Thingy
is Jigs Ace. Jigs has already caused a rift bw JB, but plan bcfired bc JW
gave Bani the property and etc.etc.(that's why I think JW is upto
something-)

2)thingy has some mental condition-she is so delusional-now she looks
like she might be turning into that character Glenn Close played in Fatal
Attraction.


i would like JW to try to get to the truth himself-
I mean he was silent when Jigs presented him with ONS cd and photos.
He didn't think how on earth did she get a hold of them? any person
would ask try to find out? I just don't want the writers to make him look
dumb-u know-

You are correct about communication. If Karuna opens her mouth (or if
she hasn't already) then the truth domino effect happens. (I am sure
Barns/Natch are involved somewhere with the thingy-maybe thing is with
them-)then they would have to tie Barns/Jigs/ and Natch.

I also think that for a man like JW or for any man it is devastating to
discover that you were drugged and taken advantage of. That places JW
in a very delicate emotinally fragile situation-it would enrage any guy to
the point of no return....I want Bani to vanish-Karuna to reveal the truth
and Push to come in and claim with the DNA what is truly his-his child.

as usual am totally amazed at how much time and effort you have put into this theory. This seems like it was very were thought out.

I like your idea of JW redemption and I agree with Krishna and Pinky that I also want complete redemption for JW, brought back to his initial glory and that too in a unique way...not the round about way.

I am still concerned about a few things though:
1. There are discussions that Pia may get redemption, saying that she did this as she was being blackmailed or something. If this happens, will we be able to forgive her as easily as JW.
2. IF your theory were true, would this be enough for his redemption? I somehow feel that even if he did all this to get to the bottom of everything, why would he want to keep Bani in the dark...and why go about doing everything the wrong way....I for one am not willing to forgive JW for the ill treatment he metted to Bani, if he did all this drama only to find out why she aborted the child and asked for divorce.

I see where you are going with the joining the dots theory. But even I am skeptical of the DNA report. It has been sitting there for too long to be easily tempered. And given how lightly patient confidentiality is being treated in this serial so far, I doubt that the report we will see right now will be correct.

No, audience will never be able to forgive P**'s character so easily bc
1)her character esp. withthe dialogue that she has been mouthing off -its
really hard for an audience to overlook that-now if its a dream sequence
than its a different matter. After, waking up from a dream, the character
is restored to whatever waking state the character was in before the
dream occured. Meaning personality wise, mind wise and all that, so if
that is the case, then to forgive the P** character is a nonissue. But I
think so much damage has already occurred by this character, that it
would be the only stupid thing left to do if they are looking at redeeming
this character. Because the blackmail scenario is not a viable one for the
use of the dilaogue that this thingy has been saying. If someone was
blackmailing her, then why say things like "I love Mr. Walia" and "mr.
Walia and I are getting married-we will adopt your child" etc. etc. Her
dialogue is nonsensical. I think only one character can be redeemed out
of JP-I want full redemption of Jai Walia.
2)The P** character has oversaturated itself in the veiwers eyes. Too
much of her, problem lies with the actress, majority of the veiwers cannot
tolerate her presence. The actress has failed in gaining any kind of
positive emotion for the character. So, again forgiving her would be
nothing short of ludicrous.

Well, Rivs. good question. I am trying to find some sort of logic in this
non-logical mess that I am watching. AK is just the first step for JW in
finding the truth. Let's say that JW keeps Bani in the dark about P** bc he
doesn't want the thingy to hurt Bani, he keeps Bani in the dark bc he
decides to play along with the thingy bc he is privy to some info.
regarding the danger poised on his and Bani's life...And he is doing all
this to find out everything, basically its not planned on his part just plays
along with it...but he has an ulterior motive. To find out the whole truth
and to find out the identities of his enemies.

Now, for the audience to forgive JW regarding his treatment of her: he has
to keep on uttering the Bani, pls. forgive me-Bani, I hurt you alot
dialogue. I am in the same boat you are in regarding forgiving his
character for his treatment of Bani. His forgiveness has to come through
Bani's character. Bani's character has to convince the veiwer to forgive JW.

Just some thoughts
