FORBIDDEN- CHAPTER 18

Then a thought occurred to him and he took bani's face into his hands and made her look into his eyes and he asked "bani…will u marry me??" bani bolted upright, her eyes went wide and she almost shouted "WHAT???" jai just gave her a goofy smile and asked again "will u marry me??" bani just couldn't believe what she had heard, in fact she was sure she was dreaming, she had never thought a day would ever arrive when jai would propose her, sure she had dreamt of this day and had fantasized bout hw jai would propose to her in million different ways but never like this, he just proposed to her out of the blue, and he had asked it so casually as if he was asking her for a chocolate and not for marriage.

Bani was too dumbfounded at this sudden proposal to do anything but gape at him with wide eyes. jai was finding her reaction highly amusing, finally he shook her by the shoulder and bani came out of her shock, even then she didn't say anything she was sure it was just her dream. So jai asked "so ur answers is??" bani gave him a confused look and asked "what answer??" jai said patiently "answer to my question" bani was getting more and more confused this was a big shock to her and so she asked again "what question??" with confusion written clearly on her face. Jai said exasperatedly "bani y r u soooo confused I just asked u to marry me, I think it's a very simple question and it just require a simple answer."

Bani somewhat came out of her shock but just needed to get jai confirm what he asked one more time so she asked "ok lemme get this straight, u r asking me to marry u right??" jai looked heavenward and said "yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssss I ammmmmmmmm" bani remained silent for a while and then asked "why??" jai looked at her as if she had lost it and asked "why what??" bani looked straight into his eyes and asked "y do u want to get married to me??" bani prayed with all her heart that his answer would be just what she wanted to hear……

Jai never broke there eye contact and began speaking "bani I want to get married to u bcoz I luv u and I cant think of my life without u…..u r mine and I can never let go off u now and I can only picture u as my wife I cant think of marrying anyone lese besides u and besides all this if we get married Krishna too will get a real family…..so will u marry me??" jai had spoken everything she wanted to hear but not just that one thing that she wanted to hear most desperately without which she didn't think she would be able to marry him. So she asked in a near whisper " have u finally realized that u were wrong bout pushkar and me?? That pia was lying?? Can u trust me now??"

Jai broke their eye contact and didn't look at her as he said "bani I …I can trust u with my life but….." that "but" broke bani's heart she didn't need to hear wat he was going to say as she knew it already so she stopped him from saying anything further by saying "jai u don't have to say anything more ur "but" said it all" and she got up and tried to move away from him but he stopped her by getting hold of her arm. Bani tried to shrug his hand off hers but his grip tightened and he spoke "bani plzzz try to understand me, I luv u very much but cant u see hw difficult it is for me to separate u from pushkar in my mind, in my heart I know that u can never do anything wrong and I guess that y have fallen in luv with u but can u not see how difficult it is for me to know that my brother loved u too even if…even if u didn't love him…..he loved u……bani I know u will never break my trust …I know u love me very much too and that u'll never break my heart…plzz think about wat I said and then say yes or no to my proposal"

Bani sighed and said "jai I need sometime to think about this but think about this what chance do we have of a happy future together with u mistrusting me??" with hthat she went inside her tent without waiting for his reply"………..to be cont.


I know..i know it was a very boring prt but just bear with me, things r going to get interesting soooooooooooon. 😉
