BAni stared at him wide eyed. Jai released her. As he was about to turn back she held his hand. He looked questioningly at her.
'aap yeh sab kyon kar rahi hein?' she asked cautiously.
'You wanted to know the date right? I told you..' he said turning back. She held him tight in her grip.
'aap kyon bathana nahi chahthein? I want to know…..' she said gaining courage.
He stared at her.
'Please tell me why you did not want me to know?' their conversation was interrupted by a knock on the door..
'come in… he shouted looking at the door.
Bani released his hand.
Maasi walked in. 'kyon munna gusse mein ho?' she asked hesitantly looking at both of them.
'nahin.. maasi kya bath hein….' He turned towards her.
Wo khana lag gaya hein… thum log abhi thak neeche nahin aayi…..'
Bani excused her self and went down.

'sab kuch teek heina beta?' she asked studying his face.
He nodded.
'thum kapde bhi nahin badle…. Neeche aajana..' she said pating his cheek.
Jai stared at the departing figure.

Jigyasa noticed their silence. Kya bath hosakthi hein.. she thought.

The dinner was quiet. The atmosphere looked charged.
Jai retired to his study after dinner.
Bani helped maasi and Tony to clear the table. Jigyasa studied Bani's face. She looked upset.
'BAni…..' jigyasa called.
'han…' Bani looked at her.
'thum zara mere kamre mein aajana……'
She nodded wondering what it might be….

After half an hour Bani walked to Jigyasa's room. Jigyassa dismissed her nurse from the room.
'thum beito Bani….' She waved her to take seat.
BAni sat down and looked at her.

'Kya bath hein BAni…….. thum kuch pareshan lag rahi ho…'Jigyasa asked surprising herself.
'kuch nahin .. mein teek hoon….'
'tho kya mein joot bol rahi hoon…..' she flared.
Bani looked at her.
'thum dodno ke beechmein kya problem hein?'

'mein ja rahi hoon yahanse….' Bani blurted. Staring at her sister-in-law.
'kya?..... kyon?' Jigyasa couldn't believe what she was hearing. Once she wanted Bani to get out from her house and now she wanted her to stay badly lekin kyo? Jigyasa didn't have time to ponder about that.
Mein yahan kyon rahoo?' Bani's eyes' filled. She blinked the tear away before Jigyasa could notice it.
'thum kya kehrahi ho Bani…. Thum yahan kyon nahi rahna chahthi…..'
'mein yahan kiskeliye rahoon aap hi bathayein muje….'
'kiskeliyein kya mathlab….apni pati keliyein……Jai bayya keliyein….'
'kyon mein rahoo uskeliyein jisne muje kabhi apni patni nahi samja.. wo tho mouka doondrahahein yahan se bag ne keliyein…' she said looking away from her.
'thum kaisi pagal ho Bani….' Jigyasa smiled. 'kya thum hein dikhayi nahin detha wo thumse kithna pyar karthi hein…'
Bani stared at Jigyasa…
'thum istharah math dekho…..' kya htum hein uski ankhomein nahi dikhayi dethaa….'
BAni's senses came to a stand still. He loves me? Kya sachmuch mujse…. Nahin… it was difficult for her to trust Jigyasa.

'han Bani… thum kyon yeh sab nahin notice kiya…. Unke ffice se jaldi aajana…. Thmhareliye mujse ladna…..
'Aapse…'
'Han… mujse….' Jigyasa smiled guiltily.
'lekin kabhi unhone….'
'wo kuch nahin kahenge BAni ….. wo ek stubborn insan hein.. aur darpok bhi… JIgyasa grinned.
Bani forced a smile.
'Kya thum ne kabhi unhe yeh mahsoos hone diya… ki thum unhe pasand karthi ho…? Jigyasa was blunt this time….
'meine?... Bani nodded in denial.
'yehi tho problem hein thum dono mein…. Thum zara intiative kar ke tho dekho…. She grinned mischievously.
'mein kaise…? Bani's face reddened.
'wo sab thum hare hath mein hein… mein kuch nahin janthi…. Bas muje jo kehna tha meine bata diya…..' Jigyasa sighed.
Bani was up from her seat instantly. She gave her a thankful look and walked hurriedly out the door.

Jai sat in his study with his work. The only solution he sought was to bury him in his work. His thoughts wandered around BAni . he could not concentrate on the work he was doing.

Bani opened her bed room door and stared at the empty room. She went and sat down on her bed with full of smiles. He loves me.. and I did not notice… how could that be…. Lekin… how am I going to make him confess his feelings for me?

She looked at the door from time to time. Jai did not return to the room.

'kyon na mein jake dekhooon ki wo kya kar rahi hein…… she thought.

Nahin… mein kal thak ruk jathi hoon…
nahin… wo mein nahi karsakthi abh aur intezar nahin… bahoth hogaya yeh sab…. She looked at the clock . it was 30 minutes past 2 in the morning.
'yeh kya kar rahi hein.. apni study mein….
She got up and went to the door.

The door opened and jai walked in. they stared at each other.
'thum abhi thak soyein nahi…' he asked.
'nahin… mein aap ki intezar kar rahi thi…
'kyon?' he scowled.
'kyon ki muje aap se bath karni hein….'
'subah thak intezar nahin kar sakthi……' he asked studying her flushed face.
'Nahi… abh aur nahin…..'
