Chapter 10:
Two weeks after returning to Mumbai, Bani had been fainting, vomitting and aching all over. At first the entire family was plagued with anxiety, only for Dadi and Massi to realize what it was and inform them that their Bahu was pregnant and that they knew The Peaks would live up its name, causing Jai and Bani to blush and go weak under the loads of teasing they received from everyone.
After visiting the Doctor's Office, it was confirmed that Bani was indeed pregnant, and Jai wasn't going to be a father once, but twice! They also found out that their babies were conceived during there little make up session, and Jai continuously teased Bani that the kids would be a constant reminder to their wild night adventure!
Both parents-to-be were the most excited of the lot, though Prachi could have given them a run for their money!
The little madam would be bossing Bani around, Day in Day out, reminding her to take her "vita-mens", as the little tyke called them, (which caused Jai to wink at Bani whenever he was around, and make the poor thing choke and cough uncontrollably), drink juice and loads of rest. She was taking over Jai's job, though he didn't mind, and was glad that there was someone to take care of Bani for him, even though she was just 2, soon to be 3 years of age! She would ensure Pia and Pushkar dropped her everyday to stay with her soon-to-be cousins, and mami, and she was even generous enough to tell Jai one afternoon at dinner that she was ready to give the babies her room in the WM…though lovingly Jai promised her that room was, is and would always be hers!
While Jai enjoyed fulfilling his responsibilities of the soon to be father, he joked with Bani that next time they would use protection, because he couldn't handle the stress of a severely hormonal pregnant woman! However that just got him punches, taps and tears, but he didn't mind the making up part one bit!

Bani was now in her 9th month of pregnancy. She would be expected to deliver soon, and that left the entire family in a concerned happiness, knowing Bani could go into labour at any given time.
12:00-Midnight. Walia Mansion. JB Bedroom.
Jai and Bani lay on their bed, Jai leaning against the headboard, Bani curled up in his arms, his hands resting on her stomach.
They spent most, if not all of their nights like this.
"Bani…I'm just really so excited…you don't believe…I mean…I have been waiting for this day since… Krishna… You know… Bani" Jai was running his hand through Bani's hair, something he learned that calmed her down.
"Jai? About Krishna… I don't think it would be fair if we name one of the twins Krishna now…Maybe a middle name…But…I would rather keep the name as a memory of our first unborn child… As a respect for her memory.
I know you really want one of our children's name to be Krishna…but… If you don't mind this one…"
Bani said softly, her eyes moist just thinking about her first unborn child.
"Bani…Bani I understand…and I really don't mind…I have no problem with giving the first child Krishna as a middle name, because I understand your attachment to our first child.
"Thanks" she whispered, looking up at him from where she was perched.
He smiled warmly at her.
"I love you" she mouthed. "I love you too" he mouthed back, bending down and kissing her forehead.
"AAAHHH!!!!"
He flew up, "WHAT DID I DO?!! DID I DO ANYTHING WRONG?! DID I HURT YOU?! BANIIII??!!!"
Bani shook her head in the negative, but continued holding her stomach in pain, screaming and digging her nails into Jai's arms.
"Babies- Water- Burst…Hospital…NOW!!!!"
She looked murderous right about now. Jai was scared sh*tless! He was excited, nervous confused, the excitement was too much!
"Our babies? They're coming?! OM--" but was shut up by Bani's sharp reply.
"Yes, they'd come right here if you don't take me to the hospital right now!!!!!!" she screamed, scaring the daylights out of Jai again. Nodding, grinning, unable to control his excitement, he ran around like a headless chicken, in search of the maternity bag they had packed in advance, thankfully, and outstripping Bani's screams, he called for the entire family to come and help.
Informing them the same way Bani informed him…they all rushed to her aid, all gushing and cooing, irritating Bani right about now, Jai could tell, and he hid his amusement when Bani gave him a stern stare, indicating to get the insane people away from her!
Helping her up, Jai told them to call the hospital, get her stuff and meet them at the hospital.
And with Ranveer's, Sahil's and Aditya's help, they all got the huge thing, called Bani, into the car and zoomed off to the hospital.
This was it, they were gonna be parents!

12:45 am—Hospital Waiting room.
"MAMAJI!! MAMAJI!!! WHERE ARE YOU?!!!" came a tiny little commanding voice, barging through the hall.
In came a frumpy looking Prachi, her hair in two ponytails, ruffled, in a pink Pajama, hand on her hips, searching every face of the Walia Khandan assembled outside, looking for her mamaji.
"Prachi? Is that you? Where's your mum and dad?" asked Rano rousing herself a bit, when she saw the chit of a girl marching in the room, her face showing high irritation.
"Mum and Dad are coming…I left them somewhere out there!" she said gruffly, jerking her thumb over her shoulder, to where a wary Pia and Pushkar was coming in, looking excited and concerned.
"Hi di!" Rano said a calm voice, hugging her sister.
"Hi Rano…Where's di and jiju? Is everything alright?" Pia asked, concerned for her sister.
"Di's fine, she's in the room now, doing some check ups and what not. Jiju is with her. He'll be out in a minute and then hopefully we could go see her!" Rano informed as they walked back towards everyone.
Pia took blessing from Massi and Dadi and greeted everyone else, and the all sat waiting for Jai to come out and let them know what was happening.
Prachi was still grumbling looking for her mamaji, angry that he had not called her to let her know her cousins were coming! She sat on a couch, a bit secluded from everyone, swinging her legs angrily her amrs folded, giving dark looks towards the room door, where her mamaji was supposed to be coming out from any minute.
Finally, what seemed like forever, Jai came out, looking wan and tired, but excited and happy all the same.
He saw everyone there, waiting for him.
"Munna, what's happening? Is everything ok? How's Bani?" Massi questioned.
"Massi, Bani is fine for now…a little bit testy, but perfectly fine. The doctor said that her contractions are getting closer together, and longer…so most likely she could go into labour this very moment. There's no need to worry." Jai said, telling them pretty much everything that had transpired between him and the doctor.
While smiling and accepting the warm words from everyone, he felt a slight tug at the end of his shirt. Looking down, he saw Prachi looking up at him with wide eyes, and then she marched back to her chair and began grumbling and swinging her legs angrily again.
"My god…I swear this child spends too much time with Bani" he himself grumbled, and then giggled as he received friendly taps from Rano and Massi.
Then he made his way over to Prachi.
"Sweetheart?" he figured buttering up to her would be best right now. She looked at him from the side of her eyes, then turned her face the other way.
"Jaan…won't you tell me why you're angry with me?" he pleaded again, trying to get her to look at him.
She nodded in the negative.
He held on to the side of her face…
"Prachiii" he said, "I'm sorry for whatever it is that I did…Forgive me na?" he pleaded, holding his ears and looking at her apologetically.
She couldn't help but smile and throw her hands around his neck.
Then, realizing that he had tricked her, she jumped back, and folded her arms, and said in a cute, angry voice.
"Mamajiii…couldn't you have even given me a call?! I mean, my cousins are coming!!! And, you left me home… SLEEPING!!! While my cousins were gonna be coming into this world?!!!"
she started up angry, then got excited at the prospect of her cousins, then she looked at him as though the fact that she was sleeping was simply ridiculous and how could let it happen!
" O gosh jaan, I'm sorry! I just got soooo excited! I simply forgot! But, I bet you'll forgive me if I take you in first to see your mami before she gives birth?" Jai winked, knowing this would do the trick.
Prachi looked at him gleefully, and nodded her head in affirmative, showing she approved of his suck-up-ness.
Grinning he scooped her up in his arms and took her in to see Bani.
Bani was pleased to see her, and then one by one the different family members came to see her…until she started screaming in pain and the doctors rushed everyone away, stating she was going into labour now!
1:20 am-Delivery room
Bani had begged Jai to stay with her, so he had gotten into some scrubs and entered the room with the doctors.
"Bani…breathe…inhale…exhale!" coached the doctor, while Jai stared at what was happening in wonderment.
"Omg! I can't breathe" Jai exclaimed in his excitement, and he himself started to do the breathing exercises more than Bani, until he got one slap across his face from Bani that brought him back to his senses.
"Jai! JAI! I'm the one that's pregnant…NOT YOU!!!"
He watched her giggle at him, and went red in the face at his own over excitement. However, he got knowing looks from all the doctors, who understood his wonderment at becoming a father.
Bani began screaming again, and she grabbed on to Jai's hand, as the doctors instructed her to push.
"Come on Bani! Push!" coaxed the doctor.
Bani was going mad with the pain. She felt like ripping off all of her clothes right there…it was unbearable!
"Bani! Come on, breathe, and on the count of three, give a good hard push" the doctor said gently.
Instead, she got a snarl from Bani, "Easier said than done" which made the doc laugh, and Jai shocked to see such a vicious side of his normally in control wife. The doc reminded him that it was expected.
1:43 am- Delivery room
"That's it Bani! That's it! One last…YAY!!!"
The doctor cheered as the first baby, a girl, appeared. Bani smiled weakly, Jai's eyes were lighted, as the doc was about to congratulate them, one scream from Bani and they were doing the whole process over again until the second kid came out. A boy!
Finally! Jai was a father, Bani was a mother! He had his own family!
As the nurses took the kids to get cleaned, the doctor turned to Jai and Bani.
"You know, Mr and Mrs Wal--"
"Call us Jai and Bani"
"Sure, you know, you gusy are very lucky… Your kids were born at 1:43 am! A very special time"
"Why'd you say that doctor?" asked Bani, a bit confused, as she looked at Jai who just squeezed her shoulder and shrugged.
"Because…1, 4, 3 …think about it.. the number 1 is equal to 1 letter, that is, the letter I…then, 4, is equal to four letters, the word, LOVE…and then, the number 3…three letters…You…your kids were born within the first 30 seconds of this time…and to me it's sort of cute that they represent your love for each other" She explained, rufflinf her hair, and smiling at them.
"OMG! I would have never thought…" Bani said, amazed by that. She looked at Jai, and then thanked the doctor, who decided to go inform the family and give the new parents some time alone.
"I love you Bani" Jai proclaimed, kissing her forehead. Both could feel each other's excitement.
"I love you too" she replied equally tired, and excited. She pulled his face closer and planted a long, sweet kiss from him, until they heard hooting, and "Hey, how much kids do you guys plan to have today itself?!" and loads of snickering, and they broke apart, blushing and grinning.
"Congrats man!" Pushkar said, shaking Jai's hand and then hugging him. Pia congratulated her di and jiju, hugging Bani and kissing her forehead.
And so on everyone congratulated and hugged the couple, until the nurse walked in with both babies.
She smiled at the family and handed both children, who were wrapped in pink and blue respectively, to Bani.
Tears welled up in her eyes as she looked at the sleeping frames of both her children. She looked up, to see Jai, standing there, tears in his eyes as well, as Bani called him over gently, to hold his children.
Jai kissed both children, and then Bani, thanking her profusely for giving him the best gifts of his life, and then looking up to heaven, he thanked God for blessing him with not only his two kids, but an Angel like Bani, making her blush, and causing the family to hoot and holler again!
Finally, they stopped when they noticed Prachi climbing up next to Bani, kissing her nose, and giving her a light hug,
"Mamiji! YAY! Finally you gave me my two cousins to play with! And you made uncle cry too! HEHEH, I love it when you do that! He looks so cute na?" she giggled mischievously, making Bani giggle and hug the kid and agree fully.
"Prachi…dekho…it's your long awaited cousins!" Jai called, walking over to let Prachi see them. Her face lighted up, excitement coursing thru her veins as she looked at the two little bundles in her mamaji's hands.
"WOW! They're sooooo cute!!!!" she squealed, making everyone chuckle.
And then the fight began, over who would hold the kids first, what would be the names, the usual stuff.
Ranveer one the game of rock paper scissors, so he got to hold both children first. Both him and Rashi fussed over the children, fighting over who looked like who.
They all decided that they took genetics from either parent, and ironically, the girl was a carbon copy of Bani, whereas the boy looked like Jai, but with Bani's eyes and dimple.
"Munna, have you all come up with names?" Massi asked, as she cuddled the little girl and boy.
"Um…Massi…well… We thought of Vanita Krishna Walia for my little girl, and Aryan Walia for my boy." Jai told them. Everyone loved the names and immediately started cooing, out to them in pet names.
"Uncle…I like Vani…she seems just like my mami…Ary on the other hand seems to be a handful! See, he already started crying!" Prachi told Jai in a wannabe mature voice, and burst out laughing, as everyone seemed to agree with the kids' assumption.
"Beta, I just hope you're right! Vani would be the right one to deal with Aryan if he turns out anything like his father!" Bani winked at Jai. Making him blush harder.
"Okay! Everyone, let's get this show on the road. Massi, you and the others go and see about all the hospital formalities, I'll stay here while the docs see about Bani's final check up, and we'll head home." Jai told them, wanting to spend a little alone time with his wife and new born kids.
He kissed Prachi on her forehead and sent her out too, with her parents, and everyone else.
Then, he turned to Bani, his eyes moist once more at the sight of his wife with his two children.
"Thank you Bani…for the best, most precious gifts in my life! Thank you for being there for me, for tolerating everything I threw at you, for being patient and staying calm, and sticking it out with me. I love you jaan, I love you more than anything else in this world!" he confessed, making her cry too.
Words weren't necessary from her side, her one reassuring smile, and her soft feather kiss on his lips said everything that was needed.

4:00 am- Walia Mansion
Everyone was home awaiting Jai and Bani's return. Massi and the gang were waiting to perform the welcome home aarti and rituals for Bani.
Finally they appeared and Massi made Bani perform all the rituals, before allowing Jai to take his tired wife and kids up to their rooms.
Everyone was excited and tired at being up for the better half of the day, and thus allowed Bani, Jai and the kids to sleep peacefully, and would see them later on. Jai forced them all to go to bed, and invited Pushkar and Pia, and Prachi (OMG just realized the entire shukla clan is named in P!!!) to stay the remainder of the weekend with them.
Nursery Adjoining JB Room
"They're just so beautiful Jai! Thank you" Bani said, as she looked at her children. Hers…Theirs. The feeling of joy and excitement and happiness was in abundance.
Jai hugged Bani from behind as they admired their sleeping children.
"I see they both have your calmness. Normally newborns would be crying, wailing and kicking a fuss! Your two are very peaceful and quiet indeed" Jai commented lightly.
Turning to face him, her hands on his collar, "Correction husband of mine. Our…OUR children. And I'm glad they're sleeping right now!" she said coyly, reaching up to his lips, parting hers, but looking into his eyes.
"Bani…don't do this! Not yet!" Jai warned, his breathing going in shambles, his heartbeat increasing as Bani winked at him.
His lips parted involuntarily.
Grinning Bani took that as a yes, and placed a gentle kiss on his lips, which turned into a passionate quest on the discovery of each other's mouths.
As Jai fell back on the large rocking chair, pulling Bani gently on top him, their moment was ruined as the wailing of a baby voice sounded through their ears.
"That would be Aryan" Bani quipped cheekily, "Like father like son!" and, pecking Jai on the lips, she sprang up to hold her baby boy, cradling him in her hands until he quieted and fell asleep once more.
Jai grinned, taking the boy out of his hands, talking in a gentle baby voice: "Beta…why can't you be like your sister huh? She's leaving us alone…you do it too! Okay?! Now you sleep…and I'll deal with mommy! Don't worry"
and winking as he placed the kid in his crib, he swooped Bani up in his arms and took her to their bedroom.
"Jaii!!! Come on!!! Gimme a break!!" Bani protested grinning.
"Hey, I know! I spoke to the doc already! By tomorrow you'll be a okay for … u know what! But for now, I can just pretty much enjoy kissing you all over!" Jai winked, lying down and pulling Bani near him.
He began kissing her all over, gently, then passionately, showing his appreciation for all that she had done for him.
"I love you even more right now Bani" he said between kisses.
"Power of a Child?" she replied with a kiss.
"Power of a Child!"

And he took of the nightlights, kissing her on her lips, then pulling her into a tight hug, promising her to be there for her, for their children, for their every need, receiving the same assurance from Bani too.
He was a happy happy man. Things could only get better, and promised to do so, with their children with them, to give them a new prospect to look forward to in life, to give them new joys and sorrows and experiences that only children could give their parents.
"Did I tell you I love you?"
"20 times for the night, not that I'm keeping count…nor do I mind!"
"Well, I love you"
"I love you too"
*wailing*
"I LOVE YOU TOO ARYAN!!!!"
*another set of wailing*
"AND YOU TOO MY PRINCESS!"
*silence*
"My wife was faithful!"
"Ouch!"
"What do you mean?!"
"I mean my kids are like me! Hehehehe"
"OUCH!"
"Sorry Jaan!"
"Not forgiven" and she turns away.
"Do I need to get you some strawberries, whipped cream and choc. Syrup Mrs Walia?"
"NAHIIIIN!!! I forgive you!"
"Thought so!"
"I love you Jai"

and he pulled her on top of him, holding her arms firmly on either side to stop the hitting, and taking her face in his hands, He gave her the most passionate, loving kiss he could, running his hands around her and massaging her back as he kissed her, knocking her out of her senses with happiness and contentment, with both their lives.

thanks! i was surfing the web looking for names! I probably changed the names 500 times before settling on Vani and Ary!
and then, after posting, i realised Vani rhymes with BANI!!! and i was like: OMMGGG howwww cuuuttee! LOLZ
