hate is a very strong word, and i think people here get annoyed, irritated, frustrated with her more than hate her - and if they hate her, they hate her actions once in a while not her.
but you cant deny, its absolutely true that if she hadn't been the runaway bride then jai and bani would not be together - so yes, thanks for that!

She suits Jai in many ways that Bani doesn't. Pia makes for a more suitable trophy wife for someone in Jai's position than Bani does. Pia's more sophisticated, not easily hurt and can take care of herself and Jig as well. She'd probably have a more equal relationship with Jai than Bani has with him.
she suits the OLD jai - and even that, barely! you cannot deny that the jai who fell for her and the jai of today are two very very different people! and all of those changes have been welcome improvements to his personality!
even when he was the old jai - harsh, arrogant etc he didn't want a trophy wife! he never thought to himself that let me marry the prettiest sister, she will look good next to me! he had people like roshni, sonali, and countless other women who not only had much better looks but also had status, money, a reputation in his social circle and more. he (unfortunately!) fell in love with her!
in every social sense she did not match him at all, she has neither the grace nor the maturity to behave as one should in his company! and there is no way they would have had an equal relationship! jai would have put up with her until the rose-tinted glasses fell off, and then she would have been just an irritation!
however he behaved with Bani he was never anything but courteous and respectful to his family and friends - would Pia have been the same? If Dadi or Masi had taken an issue with Pia about any little thing, would she have been as courteous and respectful? we've seen it with pushkar's family - probably not!!
people like Pia are the sort of people who never have enough - doesn't matter how much they get, they always dream of more - and they believe it is their birthright to attain it!
Apart from all this, if she things Jai and Bani are not meant for each other it is becoz she thinks that the marriage is one of 'majboori'. She also firmly believes that Bani loves Pushkar and what Bani wants Bani must have....this only shows how much she loves her sister and that she'll do anything to make her happy. She truly adores her sister and infact Bani is her one great weakness.
i really doubt she believes that Bani is still really in love with Pushkar - and if she does then it is a baseless belief! all she is seeing is what would fit perfectly into Pia-world!
before Pia knew about bani liking pushkar Bani had asked her to give her marriage another chance and be more understanding, talk things through etc etc - if "what Bani wants Bani must have" then why didn't Pia listen to her then?
Bani also asked her not to run away from Jai on their wedding day, she asked her not to marry him in the first place before that - but Pia didn't listen - because she has selective hearing and selecive understanding of a situation!
On the other hand, if she knew that Bani loves Jai and vice versa, she would do everything in her power to keep them together. She's not selfish, particularily where Bani is concerned.
I can't comment on that because Pia is unpredictable - i dont know if she would support Bani, or try and talk her out of it under the belief that Bani must not know what she's talking about - let's wait and see...
She's under a misconception much like Jai is about Bani and we can't blame Pia for that. She's only thinking the best for her Di....even if it means divorcing her husband so that her sis could have him.
I don't think Pia is under a misconception in the same way as Jai and Bani are - the decisions they make are based on the evidence in front of them, regardless of whether that evidence is true or manufactured.
she is not thinking the best for her sister at all, i doubt her sister is even factoring into her thoughts at the moment - whenever she thinks about this "majboori ka rishta" it has been about sympathising with Jai, not so much with her own sister. After Bani and Jai's argument Pia went after Jai to stop him hitting the wall with his hand (idiot!) - i have yet to see her go after Bani in a situation like this!
and do you really think she is divorcing Pushkar so Bani can have him?! that does not even factor into her thought process! she found out about Bani liking Pushkar long after she had walked out on him!!
