part-4
I am starting from where I left in my last part………..
Jai is mesmerized to see his unborn child and its movements on TV screen…..he would have given away all his wealth and sumptuous living to just be able to touch him/her…..doctor:well Mr. & Mrs. Walia its 5th month of pregnancy and I can inform you well about baby's gender…if you want to know….doctor had smile on her face…
NO doctor!!! jai almost shouted at her.. he realizes his raised voice and apologizes to doctor
JAI: I am sorry doctor but let that be a surprise for us………
Bani is thinking to herself……I will be going away with this child once my divorce and alimony case is solved …maybe in next month, how would Mr.Walia will come to know about his child….its his child and atleast he should know whether he is having a son or a daughter………….bani speaks under her breath.
Bani:yes doctor I want to know it. Its boy or girl? Jai is surprised to hear that….
Jai:bani what for? Bani:please doctor….tell me
Doctor looks hesitant cause of jai's sudden reaction….she looks at bani avoiding jai's gaze.
Doctor: well Mrs.Walia its baby girl for you and let me tell you that she is doing just fine…….
Jai still cant figure out reason why bani could not wait for next 4 months to know if she is having a baby girl or boy……but deep down he is very much happy……he always wanted a baby girl who can remind him of his own mother…..
Jai to himself: I was so small when I lost my mother to cancer….i missed her in every second of my life…….even today when I feel lonesome I talk to her…..my mother is coming back to me as my daughter……..he heaves a deep sigh….
Jai take glimpse of bani's face which is expressionless……..he cant make out what effect this news had on her. If she wasn't excited why did she bother to ask in first place?jai is thinking…..
Meanwhile doctor asks bani to pull her right sleeve up as she needs to give an injection.
As doctor pierce needle of that injection in bani's arm,she yells with pain. Jai moves forward hurriedly and takes hold of her hand…..that diverts bani's attention from the piercing pain in her arm to jai's face. she finds jai's deep brown eyes settled on her face with so much concern and pain in them as if needle was being injected in his arm and not bani's…..
Bani's eyes fills with water……she knows it very well its not because of pain that the injection caused her……for a moment jai saw expressions of deep love and affection for him on her face as he held her hand firmly but they were gone in blink as stonecold expressions found there place again…….she freed her hand…..jai was hurt.
Finally doctor asks Mr.walia to come with her outside as bani will have to change her cloths.
Bani comes slowly from the sonography room to where doctor is sitting with jai…managing her duppata which is slipping off her shoulders.
Doctor: Mr .walia…..as I told u baby is doing just fine but for some reason I feel bani is under tremendous stress.
Jai is hesitant opens his mouth to give some explanation…..
Doctor: I don't want to know the reason as it could be very personal for you.
Bani comes and sits besides jai….doctor shifts her attention to bani…
Doctor: bani, I have told you umpteen no of times that you should take care of yourself.
There could be problems in your personal life…but they are not only affecting your life, but also your babys health too. i have got reports of your blood test and they are indicating that you are anemic which can be fatal for you as well as for baby as you are nearing to delivering your baby in few months from now. Your reports also suggest that you are ingesting sleeping pills regularly aren't you bani? I have already told you that it can affect growth of your baby and she can be delivered with abnormalities…
Jai is furious to know all this….bani never informed him of any of her meetings with doctor or about what medicines she was prescribed…..she remained very distant from him….he didn't complaint since he knew why she was doing so….but this was more than he could take………she was swallowing sleeping pills everynight………bani keeps squirming in her chair as she knows jai is getting more and more upset….
Doctor was engrossed checking her reports……
Bani glances towards jai whose brows were furrowed with anger……
Doctor continued after examining her reports for some time……
Doctor:I had prescribed you some medicines which you are absolutely not taking…... and Mr.Walia I hold you equally responsible for this…..your wife is expecting your first child,she is preety young plus anemic and worst of all your blood group is negative and her's is positive….she should take extra best care of herself and you should make sure that she is taking all her medicines on time otherwise…..
Jai is very worried…. Jai: otherwise what doctor?
Doctor: Otherwise she still stands major chances of miscarriage….and that's the reason I forced her to bring you along so that I can remind you of your duties as father of this child. pregnancy is the most challenging time in a lady's life and she seeks support and love from her husband…..i think the major reason behind bani being so tensed could be lack of your support…..you should spend some quality time with her….you should assure her that you are there for her at any time….i hope you are getting what I am trying to convey.
Jai cant pretend to be calm any more……he was getting accused of being careless for his wife and baby…….which was so far from true……the moment he learnt about bani's pregnancy,he was overcome with feelings of responsibility for her and this child…………
a feeling of disgust spreads over his face for bani who very well know how important this child is for jai……and still was being so imprudent about it.
Jai: I will take care of her doctor. From here on I will see to it that she is fine….
Doctor: why don't you take her away from the city…for some days. that would be good for her as well as for baby.
Bani opened her mouth to protest the idea but doctor stopped her….
Jai:but doctor,can we go for journey ? I mean will it be fine for her….to travel in such condition?.
Doctor: I am not telling you to go very far from city as it would be difficult to get medical assistance in case u require. just make sure that she isn't taking too much of stress and taking her medicines properly.
Jai thanks doctor and leaves cabin in a huff.bani knows by instinct that she is in trouble…. She has not said a word in past 20 minutes…….jai is hurrying off to stairs …
He cant imagine bani being so incautious towards his baby……..
He comes out of hospital and sits in car waiting for bani to come……bani comes with guilty expressions on her face…….
Bani thinking …..i don't know what feelings he has for me,but I know this baby means everything to him in his deserted life………..
That's enough for now I know I am going really slow but
Attraction for next part…..jai and bani going to nasik ….
