Actresses always hide about their marriage - says Arunima Sharma, Rano of Kasamh se...
Zee Tv's serial Kasamh se has slowly started to pick up its speed. Albeit this serial of Ekta kapoor is yet to create waves, it has got many viewers hooked with interest. The story of three sisters, Kasamh se highlights the story of relationships. The best part about this serial is that it has new and fresh actors. One of these new and fresh actor is Arunima Sharma, who essays the role of rano in Kasamh se. Rano is the youngest of the three sisters and her character is such that she is always occupied in thoughts. Apart from this, she prefers to live her life in her own way and does not want to live life according to other people's wishes. Rano being the youngest, everyone takes care of her. But Rano has her own different world. We met Arunima Sharma in the hall and chatted a lot. Here are some information from her interview.
- Arunima, first tell us something about yourself?
- I am originally from Assam and finished my post graduation in food science just two years ago. I wanted to make my career in the stream of food science, but it seems that destiny had some other plans for me.
- So, how did you step into acting world?
- No, I had absolutely no intention of stepping in this world, had it been then I wouldnt have studied a subject like food science. Actually, my maternal grandmother Gyanoda Barua was a play writer and is no more now. But my mom Krishna Sharma was inspired from her and started doing theater in Assam. She even did play on Assam Doordarshan, although is a teacher by profession. This inspired me to step into the acting world.
- How did you get introduced to Ekta Kapoor's balaji telefilms?
- To tell you the truth, I had given numerous auditions at balaji, but was never selected. But still I kept on trying and got a 4 episode role in zee tv's 'Kabhi haa, Kabhi naa'. Furthermore, I managed to bag a couple of episodes in star one's 'Remix' too. But I got convinced of my talent only after bagging the role of rano in 'Kasamh se'. Kasamh se is my first serial where I get to portray a full fledged role.
- Who all are there in your family?
- (Looks at us mischieviously) Now that you have asked, I wont give you a wrong reply. I got married two years ago and my husband is presently emploed with the coco-cola company. Normally actresses try to hide about their marriage from the media and from the people, but for me it is very hard and impossible to hide about my mariage.
- Werent your husband and in-laws hesitant to give u permission to step into acting world?
- No, they had absolutely no problems with my choice and gave me their permission too. Not only permission, I have their full support as well.
- The portrayal of your elder sister 'bani' in 'kasamh se' is done by prachi who is also a senior secondary student whereas being married and a postgraduate, you are essaying the role of her younger sister. This means, prachi being the youngest is playing the role of elder sister, whereas u being elder, is essaying the role of the youngest sister. How does it feels to you?
- You do have a point. But at the end of the day, its the director's call. Director Anil.V Kumar felt that I will suit the role of the younger sister, and vice versa with prachi, hence the roles were given to us accordingly. We are just actors, and we only do whatever the director asks us to do. The directors have more deeper understanding and knowledge of our respective roles and they can never be wrong. You are finding it strange because you know about roshni, prachi and me or else, if you watch Kasamh se, u too would have felt that I m the younger sister and prachi is my elder sister.
- Who are your favourite actors from films and television?
- I like Niki Aneja and Varun Badola from television, and from films, Amitabh bachchan and Aamir khan are my favourites.
P.S: Guys I have tried my best to translate the whole hindi interview and I hope that I did justice to it 😳. Enjoy !!! And yes, do ignore my bloopers.
