Mallika-
Thank you all for the wonderful compliments and comments....Truly appreciated!!!😃 Btw, I got some PM's regarding the second part of the Fan-Fic Triology that I had posted earlier and then deleted! Some of you wanted to read it...I am posting the same here....This part can be taken in lieu of Jai's Confession;
Jai finished reading the letter in complete silence and as he involuntarily collapses on his bed with the Letter in his hands, the blue ink of the letter smudged a little bit as Jai sat dazed staring into the space. For a moment, it seemed that life has been suspended for Jai, as he gazed down with moist eyes and looked at the piece of paper once again. Jai's eyes then fell on the small jewellery box that had been kept with the letter and without opening it, Jai instantly knew that it contained Bani's Mangalsutra in it.
With slightly trembling hands, Jai opened the box and took the Mangalsutra in his hands and kept looking at it for some time the memories of his bitter past came rushing in front of his eyes, as he had tied the sacred thread around Bani's neck. Jai clutched the Mangalsutra in his fists as he mechanically got up and walked outside his room and met up with Aditya. "Kya hua Jai? Itne shocked kyon lag rahe ho?"
Jai keeps quiet, still in a daze and then slowly replied, with the glazed look in his eyes, "Bani chali gayi…" Aditya kept quiet for some time, staring at his best friend's shocked face and then said slowly, "Tum se kiye hue vaade ko nibhaya hai usne….shayad yahi theek tha tum dono ke liye." Jai suddenly jolted out of his shock and looked at Aditya and said with a desperation and pain in his voice, "Woh aisa nahin kar sakti Aditya…Bani muhje aise nahin chod ke jaa sakti."
Aditya kept looking at Jai's face and tells him gently, "Jo tumhare dil mein jaga nahin bana paya, use tumhare ghar mein jagah kaise milti…Bani ne theek kiya Jai. Tum bhi toh yahi chahte the." Jai looked at Aditya with guilt, remorse and desperation writ on his face and says, "Kya har ehsaas ke liye shabdon ka hona zaroori hai? Mujhe laga that ki joh ladki meri khamoshi ko samajh paayegi, use yeh ehsaas bhi ho jaayega ki uski kya ehmiyat hai meri zindagi mein." Aditya now looks on surprised and asks Jai, "Kya ehmiyat hai Jai? Ek patni ki ya ek aise kandhe ki jispe tum sar rak kar ro toh sakte ho, lekin uske aansoon nahin poch sakte. Jai, tumhein toh khud bhi nahin pata ke tumhare dil mein kya hai, Bani ke liye."
Jai looks at Aditya and says, "Pata toh hamesha tha, ehsaas ab hua hai….aur ab is ehsaas ke saat, mein Bani ko wapas lene jaa raha hoon." Aditya looks cheered on and says, "Agar yeh baat hai, toh tumhari gaadi neeche khadi hai, yeh rahi chaabi, Bani ki train ab se aadhe ghante mein nikal rahi hai….Jao aur rok lo use." Jai looks surprised as he keeps the Mangalsutra in his Blazer pocket and takes the keys from Aditya and smiles as he says, "Tum hein agar pata tha ki mere dil mein kya hai, toh tumnein Bani ko kyon nahin roka?" Aditya is now openly grinning and says, "Jai…mujhe hi nahin, sabko pata hai ki tumhare man mein Bani ke liye kya feelings hai, magar ab yeh jaane ki baari tumhari thi…Ab jao, warna tumhari biwi maayke ke liye nikal jaayegi."
Jai hops in the Driver's seat of his Car and takes one deep breath and then turns on the ignition and zooms the Car. Sahil who has just seen Jai taking off is stunned and bumps with his Father on his way inside the Walia Mansion and says, "Dad, yeh Mamaji ko kya ho gaya hai….maine toh unhe kabhi bhi 40 ke speed se zyada gaadi chalet dekha nahin hai, aaj toh lag raha hai ke Formula One ke Race mein dod lagane jaa rahe hai."
Aditya who has a cheerful smile on his face puts his hands around Sahil's shoulder and says, "Sahil, aaj tumhare Mamaji, Walia House se Mumbai Central tak ke saare Traffic Signals tod dene waale hai." Sahil looks at his Father in astonishment as Aditya takes him inside, humming to himself cheerfully.
As Jai maneuvers his Car through the heavy, evening traffic of Mumbai, all the past memories of Bani came flashing like a lightening in front of his eyes….and he remembers how he had met the young, rain-drenched, slightly shivering and scared girl at his house and had yet seen the spark of confidence and honesty in her eyes. As Jai honks impatiently, his mind is still focused on Bani and he remembers the way he had put Sindoor on her forehead with hatred and anger and how she had closed her eyes in resignation.
The Traffic finally crawls a little bit ahead and Jai almost bangs his Car with another as he tries to overtake it, the old lady driving the Other Car curses Jai, as he waves his hand apologetically and somehow manages to come in front. "Oh god, sirf 30 minute aur hai train ko jaane mein….aur yeh traffic." Jai ponders to himself, with anxiety written all over his face and he continuously honks the Car, but to no avail.
He only gets nasty stares from his fellow drivers. Jai closes his eyes and taps on the Steering wheel and then opens his eyes with a new determination and then steers his Car to a corner of the road and turns off the ignition. Jai then gets out of the Car, much to the surprise of other people in the road, and takes off his Tie and blazer and throws them in the backseat of his Car and then after locking his Car, he gives a look ahead at the busy, jammed road and pulls up the sleeves of his Shirt and hops on the pavement and runs ahead!
Some of the onlookers are really bewildered wondering what this man is doing at 7 in the evening running in the middle of a busy road. Jai almost collides with a man on the bicycle but does not wait to apologize and keeps rushing towards the direction of Mumbai Central.
It is 7:20 Pm now and a sweat drenched and palpitating Jai sees himself standing in front of the extremely busy and crowded Mumbai Central. Jai smiles to himself as he wipes the sweat of his face only to be drenched in a fresh bout and he makes his way through screeching men, women and children, all trying to get somewhere or the else at the same time.
Suddenly Jai stops dead in front of the entrance of the station and the thought hits him like a boulder. "Oh Shucks, I have never been to a Railway Station before….mein is bheed main Bani ko kaise dhoon doonga." Jai looks on anxiously at about the thousand people crowding the Metropolis Station and then with a steely determination, Jai goes towards the entrance and is just about to enter it when the Ticket checker asks him, "Saab, aapka ticket kahan hai?" Jai is taken aback, "Ticket? Mujhe kahin nahi jaana, mein kisi ko jaane se rokne aaya hoon. Mere paas koi ticket nahin hai." The Ticket Collector gives a saradonic look and says, "Kya baat hai Saab. Haat mein Rolex ki ghadi hai aur bina ticket ke andar jaane ko hota hai. Pehle ticket counter se ticket lene ka, uske baad hi andar jaane ka."
Jai looks exasperated and says, "Mere paas time nahin hai, please mujhe andar jaane do. Aur yeh ghadi rolex ki nahi hai, Mont Blanc hai." The ticket collector now looks bugged as people are crowding near the entrance gate to get inside and he says irritated, "Apne aap ko kya samajh rakha hai, Suit Boot mein hai aur yeh mehengi videshi ghadi pehni hai toh, muft mein kahin bhi ghus jaayega…pehle ticket lo, uske baad hi andar jaane ka permission milega. Tum kya koi Jai Walia hai, joh jahan marzi jaa sakta hai."
Jai is stuck between the thought of murdering the Ticket checker and amused at the thought of the Ticket collector taking his name and then in an exasperated way, he says, "Accha yeh lo, tum yeh note rakh lo aur mujhe jaane do, please….mere paas line mein khade ho kar ticket lene ka time nahin hai.." The ticket collector gives one look at the Rs. 1000 note and then at Jai and mumbles, "Pagal lagta hai….3 rupai ke ticket ke badle hazar ka note pakada raha hai" and says, "Saab, chutta nahin hai."
Jai is really frustrated now and says, "Tum yeh pura note rakh lo aur please mujhe andar jaane do….meri biwi mujhe chod kar jaa rahi hai, mujhe rok na hai use…Please yaar." The ticket checker is now completely taken in by Jai and for the first time looks sympathetically and says, "Arre Saab, pehle kyon nahin bataya….ki yeh dil ka chakkar hai. Aap bhi kya yaad rakhenge, jaayie andar aur yeh note bhi apne paas rakhiye…jab biwi wapas aajaye, toh use Juhu Chowpaaty par le jaana."
Jai is thunderstruck and is not able to realize whether he should laugh at his comment or cry with desperation at the thought of Bani going away anytime now. "Thanks yaar, yeh ehsaan mein kabhi nahin bhoolonga…aur btw, mein hi Jai Walia hoon." Saying this Jai rushes inside the jam-packed platform, while the Ticket checker smiles sarcastically and says, "Haan zaroor, aap Jai Walia hain toh main bhi Amitabh Bacchan hoon. Haan, bhai apna ticket dikaho, next."
Love,
