Main Characters:
Jai Walia - A middle-aged, businessman of great repute and immense wealth and power, settled in Mumbai.
Jigyasa Walia - Jai's younger sister who lives with him.
Aditya - Jigyasa's ex-husband and Jai's best friend.
Ranveer, Saahil and Anu - Aditya and Jigyasa's children.
Daadi - Aditya's mother.
Sonali - A beautiful actress and Jai's close friend who is also in love with him.
Mohan Khandelwal - One of Jai's oldest and closest friend's and a business partner.
Pushkar - Jai's protegee and an employee in his Office. Almost like an adopted son to Jai.
Bani Walia nee Dixit - Jai's (far too young😉) wife and his employee also.
Pia Dixit - Bani's younger sister.
Rano Dixit - Bani and Pia's youngest sister.
Story till now...
The story commences at 12, Hill Road in Mount Abu where the Dixit's reside. The family is headed by Nishikant Dixit, a middle-aged, alchoholic father and his three grown-up daughters. Bani is the eldest, calm, mature beyond her years and immensely loving & protective towards her sisters. Pia, the middle one, vivacious, beautiful and completely childish and Rano the youngest, reclusive, insecure and quiet. Nishikant dies leaving a mortagaged house and a letter for Bani addressed to Mr. Jai Walia requesting him to help out the three girl's, incase of their parent's death. Jai Walia was known to the girls' mother, Kiran Singhani Dixit through family.
Jai Walia is one of India's leading Industrialist, hails from an aristrocratic, immensely wealthy and influential background. Bani, Pia and Rano land at Jai Walia's house and he agrees to help them out. Jai gives them a place to live, at his Outhouse and a job to Bani in his Office. After some intial misunderstanding created by Jigyasa and Ranveer, Jai warms up to the three sisters, especially towards Pia, for whom he develops a soft corner. Jai and Bani share a cordial and respectful relationship, typical of an employer and an employee.
Meanwhile Pushkar, who is almost like a son to Jai and works in his Office befriends Bani and falls in love with Pia. Meanwhile, unknowingly Bani also falls in love with Pushkar but keeps her emotions in check when she comes to know of Pia and Pushkar's relationship.
Jai on the other hand decides to put a name to his growing feelings for Pia and proposes marriage to her. The indecisive and immature Pia gets confused betweent the supremely wealthy and powerful Jai and the humble but loving Pushkar, and in a moment of emotional turmoil accepts Jai's proposal, deliberately hiding her past from him.
Bani and Pushkar are shattered by Pia's decision, Bani because she feels that Jai is far too old for Pia and Pushkar because he cannot bear losing Pia's love. They both try their level best to convince her against it, but Pia goe's ahead with the marriage preparations. But at the last moment, Pia realizes that she can never love Jai and that Pushkar is the only true love of her life. Emotionally goaded by Pushkar, despite Bani's threats and pleadings, Pia in a moment of frenzy elopes with Pushkar on the day of her wedding, leaving Bani shattered and in a corner.
Jigyasa's manipulation and the weight of Jai's gratitude on her heart leads Bani to take a monumental decision which will alter the course of her life. Unknowing to Jai, Bani substitues herself as his bride and Jai comes to know a little too late about Pia's betrayal and he is forced to marry Bani in order to save his name and family honour.
Jai comes to know that it was none other than Pushkar with whom Pia eloped and that Bani had known the truth of their relationship beforehand. Jai decides to wreak vengence on all those who dared to play with his emotions and lets out his fury on Pia, Pushkar and Bani....
Did you know...
We happen to know the ages of only two character clearly in the serial, Jai Walia who is 40 years old and Bani who is 23! Else, we assume that Jai, Jigyasa, Aditya, Mohan and Sonali are roughly in the same age-group with Jai being the eldest amongst them. Bani, Pushkar and Ranveer are in the same age group. Rano, Saahil and Anu share the same age group, while Pia is supposedly around 20 years old.
Jigyasa, her children, Aditya and his Mother also stay with Jai in his house. Jigyasa is divorced from her husband Aditya and she along with Ranveer are always at logger-head with him and his Mother!
Aditya, his Mother, Saahil and Anu support Bani and Rano, while Jai, Jigyasa and Ranveer are against them completely. Outside the Walia House, Sonali supports them, Mohan is a fence-sitter, neither with them nor against them. Pushkar's family except his Mother have also alienated them, including Pushkar!
Bani, Pia and Rano initially stayed in Jai's Outhouse but later Jai got them to stay in his main house.
Pia and Rano are completely dependent on Bani for their emotional support and she is more like a Mother to them.
The Mount Abu house was mortgaged to Mohan Khandelwal by Bani's father, but Jai Walia buys it from Mohan and he now uses it to blackmail Bani to stop her from leaving his house.
Mohan Khandelwal falls in love with Bani at first sight and proposes marriage, but Bani refuses point-blank, instead Pia accepts the proposal only to be stopped by both Pushkar and Jai.
The day Bani is about to confess her silent love to Pushkar, she gets to know that Pia and Pushkar are both in love. Bani's feeling's are known to Sonali and Mohan later on.
Sonali is in love with Jai but never tell him so and is completley shattered when he announces his engagement with Pia.
Saahil is initially a spoilt brat who tries to get Bani into serious trouble, but after a yanking from Jai and some punches from Pushkar, he is reformed and well on his way falling hopelessly in love with Rano, who cannot stand the sight of him, btw!
Jigyasa and Ranveer hate the three sisters, but Bani in particular and it is due to Jigyasa's manipulation that Jai and Bani end up getting married.
Jai and Bani are extremely unhappy with the forced marriage and Bani tries to break it up, but Jai tells her that he will let her go only after he has settled his scores with Pia.
Sonali is the one to help out Bani and Pia in their time of need, when Jai alienates them from the rest of the world.
The latest happening is that Ranveer lands Pushkar in jail on charges of an attempt to rape case and Pia suspects Jai of masterminding it, but Bani chooses to trust Jai!
