Ok guys update 60 from page 124 onwards, keep reading and commenting.

Gauri came back after changing and found him staring out of the window looking at whole of the world go by. Gauri sat on the rug near the fireplace and made a little noise to let him know of her existence but he did not move and stood still swigging out of his flask occasionally. She found him very distant today and he seemed lost in his thoughts. There encounter earlier had been emotional and she knew his nature was to show anger upon showing his weaknesses. She knew if she said anything it will be like wanting to grab fire and she was bound to get burnt, so decided to stay quite and let him take his time to decide when he wants to talk.

After a while he turned to look her way and stood there with his razor sharp gaze mapping her. Gauri felt uncomfortable and decided to get up and walk away.

G: I'm going to make some tea, would u like some, Shiv.

S: No, I'm fine.

Gauri walked away and felt him make a hole in her back with his eyes. Gauri makes herself some tea and grabbing the tray is about to walk out of the kitchen when the lights go out. Feeling the surface she puts the tray down and curses the electricity board for having crap facilities. She feels the doors of the kitchen unit and tries to find a candle. She turn in the dark quickly saying Shiv's name when she feels he was around her somewhere.

All of a sudden, she feels him and starts to move backwards trying to figure out where she was. He moves forwards and catches her, as she is just about to hit the wall. It was dead quite and all that she could hear was his breathing near her left eye. In the dark she is trying to open her eyes as wide as she could to make any sense of his shape but the more she tried the more blinded she felt. He slowly pushes he back till she is pinned to the wall and he is leaning on bolting her down with his bulk. Gauri starts to feel his stubble on her cheek and turns her head away to one side. She feels his nose rubbing on the side on her face and making way towards the nape of her neck. His heart was beating so hard and fast now that it felt like drums beating inside of her as he was pushed up right against her. She opened her mouth to say something and was felt his hand cover it.

S: don't say anything, just let it be, please (he whispered with his warm breath tickling her senses)

G: (removing his hand) please let me go, I cannot do this. I thought about it and cannot do it, please.

S: (pushing into her and whispering) what's changed, what made u think, u don't think I love u enough, u want proof, what do u want me to do.

Saying that he started to kiss her passionately, she shook and shivered in his hands unable to decide if she was to push him away or embrace the flame he was igniting inside of her. His hands r now roughing her up getting busy judging her response, she was melting again and he knew he was quite capable of making her feel like that, now all he had to do was keep up with the rhythm. Otherwise, as soon as she starts to think things through she will shun him, he could not stand to be away from her any longer. The kiss was getting her high and he was smiling at her response, she was actually kissing him back with urgency.

He wanted to move away and see her needy expressions to get the satisfaction to overrule her statement that she did not want him. It would be a sight to remember just thinking about it was giving him a thrill. He was clinging on to the moment with the fear of her waking up to it all and telling him to leave her. The more he thought about her power to be able to work him according to her desires and then have the power to push him away the more stressed he felt, the mind was playing games now, thinking she dare not ask him to go away. The kiss was getting uncontrollable, his mouth was trying to control hers and he was succeeding as well, Gauri was loosing herself in him, his touch was sensational, he could disturb her senseless.

Shiv held on to the kiss and fiddles with his pockets with one hand, Gauri wondered for a second what was he up to, but he jerked her backwards forcing the kiss upon her. He had found what he was looking for, bringing the phone to the eye level he pressed the power out button and it was dead. He felt peace as he chucked it on the worktop and started on his shirt buttons.

Suddenly, the lights had come on and the humming of the refrigerator had made them come out of the stupor. Shiv swept up Gauri from under her feet and walked towards the bedroom. Gauri was astounded to see his bare olive chest shining with fresh sweat and his manly musk was overtaking her senses. She stunningly looked on as her hand automatically slides on his bare chest moving up to his neck. Her touch was making him tremble with extreme thrill. Gauri looked into his eyes and could see that he was all worked up.

He gently placed her on the bed and looked on with keen eyes while sliding his shirt away from him.

Update 61

Gauri could not keep up with his gaze at this stage and turned her back to him. Shiv moved forward and sat besides her. Gauri could feel his frame perch near her. Sitting behind her he slides his hand on her waist and grabs the vest top hugging her frame. Shiv lift the top making her rise her arms above her head and chucks it on the floor. He tightly weaved body is setting his eyes alight and he subconsciously pushes her neck down and moves her hair away exposing her back fully to him.

Gauri feels his cold hands feeling her and his heated breath on her neck. His hands slowly working their way to the front. Gauri was in a mollycoddle deciding where will this encounter lead to, he was so unsure of himself. She actually realised Shiv had no clue what he wanted, he lied to his friends, family and no one knew they were seeing each other.

She removed his hands from her waist and turned to face him. Shiv surprisingly looked at her wondering what had happened. She held his face in her hands

Gauri: Shiv, please I need to talk to u before we go any further with this.

Shiv annoyed flopped at the bed showing stress in his expressions. What was with her, he was willing to do anything for her and she was always doubtful. Why could she not trust him, this was not making any sense. He had proved time and time again that he loved her like mad but she still would not trust him.

It was understandable that she feared he will treat her like any other girl that had walked into his life before but there was no way of giving her this assurance that she was nothing like he's known before. She was special to him. It would actually be his loss to loose her as its turned out he's unable to think of anything but her since he's had their first kiss at her office that time when Anupam had returned from his trip and he had come to know of this whole new Gauri.

Gauri turned to look at him all stressed and felt bad. She knew she had hurt him by her doubtful attitude but there was no other way for her to come to know how he felt about her and if he wanted to spend the rest of is life with her or if it was just temporary fascination where one night with her and he will never look back.

The last thing she wanted was guilt of letting herself go and on top of that a broken heart. As far as she knew, he was the used to this crude behaviour, not his fault, he does not know any better, causing heartache without seconds thought did not even register to him as playing with emotions. The girls he usually hung out with or had relationships were just as hard skinned as he was, they easily survived and moved on, but She realised it will be impossible for her to get back on her feet and face the world. True it was that no one may come to know of their time together but for her ownself to remain sane it was very important she clarified. He seemed sincere but then this was what she had heard from her friends, colleagues and million other sources that a man would behave the sweetest and kindest thing around when they r trying to bed a woman. These thoughts were making her ill.

Shiv instantly grabbed her getting up and pinned to the bed, their eyes met and she could see nothing else but affection for herself.

Shiv: U do know that I love you like I never loved anything before in this lifetime,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, u r my addiction,,,,,,,,, I need the fix, please don't deprive me off u,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,. U will regret it for sure.(sayin that he smiled).

With a huge grin on his face he moved forward parting her lips with his own. Gauri was still thinking and this kiss was not soaking in.

The door bell rang, it was coming up to 9pm. Gauri felt scared in her stomach hearing the door bell as if she had been caught. Shiv however did not show any interest, Gauri tried to push him off and the words he muttered were "leave it, let it ring".

Gauri shook her head and smiled. He smiled back hoping that was exactly what she was to do but Gauri decided otherwise. She pushed him off and grabbed her vest of the floor. Looking back at him as she walked towards the door, she found him smiling and tapping the space next to him reciting words "I'll be waiting". She whispered for him to stay in her room and not come out of there. He smiled again. She walked away still in a dilemma closing the door behind her.

As Gauri was walking towards the door she quickly picked up shiv's jacket from the floor and put it behind the sofa. Her apartment phone rang, she thought whoever it was on the phone perhaps was getting impatient and ringing the phone to get her attention.

She picked up the phone answered the phone at the same time. It was baba on the phone and Ipshita at the door. Her felt her stomach turn with the shock she has faced just then. The panic was visible on her face in the form of sweat and she thought she is caught red handed. The last two ppl on this earth, she would've wanted to face were taking to her at the same time while she was not listening to either one of them but thinking about saving her own skin.

Baba: Gauri beta, tum theek to ho na,,,,,,,,,,, kya hua, kuch bol kyun nahi rahi ho tum,,,,,,,,, kya baat hai beta, sab theek toh hai,

While,

Ipshita: Hi Gauri, how r u doing,

Gauri shook her slightly frowning as if to shake the rotten feeling she had developed in her panic.

Gauri: ( signalling Ipshita with her index finger) Baba, main aap koh ek minute main phone karti hoon, okay.

Gauri was just about to put the phone down

Ipshita: its okay Gauri, I just wanted to hand u this, its late already, I will speak to u later. Okay, I hope u make it.

She pointed at the envelope and walked away smiling waving bye.

Gauri: Hello baba, Sorry meri friend aaee thee, toh bas, ,,,,, nahi, baba, who chalee gayee hai,,,,,, aap kaisay ho,

Baba: Gauri beta, kitnay din ho gaya tunhay dekhay huay, thodhay din chuthi le kar ke milnay aa janna beta. Ajj Kusum ki mangnee pe sab tumharay barray main hee baat kar rahay thay. Aur keh rahay thay ke tum to sab ko bhool he gayee.

Gauri: Kya baba, kusum ki magnee bhi ho gayee, aur mujay kissi ne battaiaa he nahi. Acha baba, uski shadi kab kee hai, main tabhi chuttiian le loongee.

Baba: Main tumay ek do din main phone karta hoon beta, Sabhi bahoot kush hongay jab pata chaleygaa ke tum shadi pe aaogee.

Gauri: Theek hai baba, Mashimma aur kaya kaisay hain.

Baba: Kaya to abhi kusum ke ghar pe hi hai, Yahaan hoti to kaya abb tak mujhay baat karnay daytee. (Saying that baba laughed).

A few minutes later Gauri ended the call and happily walked to her room with a strange satisfaction and a stable heart. Shiv grinned tapping the bed signing for her to sit next to him and asked who it was. Gauri moved closer to him happily with her back against his stomach in his embrace. She felt cozy and happy.

Gauri: It was baba on the phone, he wanted me to get some time off and go see them.' She smilied.

Shiv's heart sank with the thought of her leaving but he popped another question,

Shiv; oh rite, but, who was at the door?

Gauri: Oh yeah, it was Ipshita, She,,uuuuummmmmmmm,,,,,,,,,,,,,, (remembering the envelope) said she came by to give me this.

Shiv frowned at the thought of Ipshita wondering what she was upto now while Gauri opened the letter.

Shiv: what the hell did she want, I tell u that, she is mental,,,,,,,,,totally,,,,,sometimes it feels like she is following me everywhere, u kno what I mean,(saying that he rubbed his cheek on to her face pleasurably).

Gauri in a state of fury flew out of his grip and jumped of the bed. He was in absolute shock wondering what brought that on, Gauri's eyes were sharp with rage and fury. Shiv with confused expressions asked what has happened and what was wrong. Gauri without saying anything threw the envelope and the card towards him and with tear filled eyes gave him a questioning look. She looked on as he read through the little card that has flown into his face.

Shiv looked on stunned when he read the card of invitation of his and Ipshita's engagement taking place this Saturday. He looked at Gauri who was curled up to the floor leaning on the wall shedding tears. Seeing her like this he jumped of the bed and ran towards her. Shiv hugged Gauri takking her in tight squeeze.

Shiv: Gauri, listen to me, whatever this piece of junk says is not true, please just listen to me, ( he shook her) please, its not true, do u trust me, I'm telling u this is not true,

As soon as shiv had said the words "do u trust me",Gauri pushed him away.

Gauri: Get away from u, lying freak,,,,,,,,,, I should've known, (she wiped her face and shook her head) I should've known. ( she burst again), I had always known this deep down that u were playing me,,, c that is the reason, u never told anyone about us, u asked for me to lie to Ipshita the other night. You ask me if I trust u, I want to tell u this today I don't trust you, If u think I should know this,,,,that you loved me. No one had ever been as close as u have manage to so how do u think I will be able to tell for sure if u did or not, I don't know, I am not as experienced as u r Mr shiv.

Shiv looked on staggered what was happening, a minute ago she was in his arms making him complete and now she was in so much qualm that she wouldn't even look his way. He moved closer again trying to get hold of her and calm her down. Gauri tried to push him away but he was not giving up so easy, he had to try, it was his fault that he had not managed to convince her of his needs of her and her importance. He knew once again that his reputation had preceded him, never before it had bothered him but it sure hurt today. Gauri felt filthy with his touch, she hated him being near her. Sick thoughts appeared in her head making her question herself what she was about to do. How could she get so low, how could she forget all she had learnt, her values, her self-respect. Thinking that she dug her nails in his bare chest and pushed him away making him wail. He looked at his chest and seeing the scratches pointed out she was making a big mistake and she will regret it one day.

Gauri looked on disgusted at his comments. She refused to be taken for a ride once again. Gauri turned around and shouted for him to leave her alone and not come to her place ever again.

Shiv once again giving it a last go to convince her of his innocence of this whole blunder told her to believe him but she won't budge. How could she, How can he not know of his own engagement. He was not a little baby that these things r done without his consent, he must have some idea. It was all lies, he seemed like a typical bloke trying to bed a girl just to satisfy his physical needs. She was feeling rotten; she wanted to rip his scent away from her body, it was making her ill. She could not wait any longer. Turning she walked up to him and turned him towards the door and asked him leave. His eyes filled up with tears of pain. She let out a sarcastic flutter thinking what a drama queen he was. He walked away and picking up things slammed the door behind him, making her heart shudder at his temperamental attitude.

She jumped in the shower setting the temperature to steaming hot and stood underneath to wash away her sins. It was not working, she stared at her bare body gleaming red hoping to feel pain, all she could feel was his hands running around wildly due to his exploration of her. She closed her eyes and burst into tears. Her heart felt agony.

Shiv was frantic with rage, he couldn't work out who he was angry with, his mother for making him make promises which he has no intention of keeping now, he never knew he would be so entangled with Gauri that it will start effecting him this way. When he had promised his mum of marrying whoever she chose for him and also knowing very well that it would be Ipshita, he had thought it will make no difference him being married or not as he had no intentions of ever being in love. Love meant nothing and all a man needs from a woman was a few seconds pleasure which was offered to him on plate whenever needed. Gauri had walked into his life causing upheaval. He wanted to be in love but the thing was he had no idea how, he adored her, willing to die for her, was sure she loved him too but they were not like the other people that seemed so much in love. He got mad at her unnecessarily, she doubted him always, and stability was thing of rare effect with them. He shook his head with anger and thumped the steering wheel. What was going on, people make love thing sound so easy and he found it hardest thing to he could possibly do.

Or was he mad at Ipshita hovering around his mum all the time making her feel obliged towards her friendship with her mum. He made his mind up to go home and tell his mum that he had no intentions of marrying Ipshita but how is he going to say anything, what would he say, where did he come to know this was to happen. He felt Ipshita knows everything about him and Gauri and deliberately done this and waiting for him to walk into her trap and then forcedly peruade him to keep his promise. He needed to calm down and think it through how he was to handle this.

Shiv got home it was coming up to 11pm and he was walking upstairs when he heard his mum and Ipshita talk.

Nikhila: beta, mainay toh pehela hi kaha tha, yeh doh kaurdee kee ladkiaan pata nahin kiya kiya jaal bischaatee hain ameer ghar ke ladkoon ko phansanay ke vastay. Uss din toh humnay shiv ko meri beemari kaa bahaana karkay bulwaa liya, par hum kab tak yeh karaingay, acha kiya tumnay jo yeh engagement kaa socha, warna agar woh usay phansaa laytee toh phir uska wapas aanaa mushkil hota. (Saying that she had smiled a wicked smile)

Shiv listen on shocked and wide-eyed, he never thought his mum would need to play games with him. He had always been very close to her but now she was scheming things with Ipshita to get him away from Gauri. As far he knew his mum gave the idea that she adored Gauri, last time she had seen her at the chacha/chachi's anniversary party. Now what was this. Its all faces no one and absolutely no one is for real, there he was thinking he knew all the people close to him especially his mum but there she was finding daggers to stab him in his back. Tears were flowing freely.

Ipshita: Auntie, I'm sure she that Gauri would not even wanna see him now that she thinks he is to get engaged,

Shiv quickly walked in the door smiling,

Shiv: who's getting engaged mum, mujhay bhi pata chalay.( he laughed)

Nikhila and Ipshita were both startled and got all jittery with him trying to work out what to say. Shiv smirked but in his heart he felt the flames rise seeing their panicky faces trying to figure out what they should come up with next. He thought of relieving them of this situation and saying that he will talk to them later he walked out. As'soon as he walked out of the door both Nikhila and Ipshita felt relief.

For a second Ipshita thought that Shiv had heard everything but now it seemed otherwise. Shiv stopped outside and listened on if they were had guessed his tension.

Nikihila had decided that she would speak to shiv regarding this engagement in the morning as it was only a few days and before the invitations were sent, the confirmation of his agreement was needed. The last thing she wanted was him going into hiding and not turn up for his engagement and that would've been the biggest insult Kapoor family to face and Nikihila very much did not fancy Mahen's fury shower upon her.

Update 63

Shiv went to his bedroom and flopped on the bed thinking how his life is turning out and how the thought of Gauri does not escape him for one second, she was everywhere. He had to do this right, he had been successful throughout his life in every way but now these few women were making him insane, His mum and Ipshita with their sick plans to control him and Gauri with the love he felt for her. He could not loose her, if he did he would not be able to live. There was no way out of this, he knew he wanted her and he sure planned to get her, whichever way he had to do it.

He thought about calling Gauri but decided not to as it would've only infuriated her as she had no clue there were bigger conspiracies than what she was getting all worked up over. Shiv decided to give Gauri space and planned to go ahead with what was coming his way this Saturday unless of course he comes up with something solid.

If not then he was not exactly getting married, he felt he had some time in his hands and will think about it next few days and come up with something where he won't need to hurt anyone and everything will fall into place itself. It was all a matter of playing people accordingly, after all he has been doing it for years, it can't be far off from what applies in business as at the end of the day it is human brain and he knows how selfishness works.

His mum feeling selfish maybe not for her own best but seeing Ipshita's bank balance feels secure for her own son's sake and Ipshita feeling safe knowing his carefree nature that she will always be treated well, being Mrs Shiv Kapoor. And Gauri, aaaaaahh, finally Gauri was selfish for getting her true love and which was very interesting aspect of selfishness, he liked it. He wanted someone like her to make him weak the way she does. It was the grip she had over him he loved. She controlled his thinking, his whole being to b precise but he loved her for it and felt mad at anyone who had tried to come in their way. He knew no one absolutely no one can keep them apart, no matter how hard they try. With these thoughts, he finally dozed off.

Next morning he was woken by his mum sitting by his bedside running her hand through his hair looking at him with her greedy wishful eyes, showing fake love he thought. He sat up leaning on the bedstead and wondered when she will come out with their plans of his engagement.

On his way to office, he thought about something, decided to call Mac, and once finished thought about his conversation with his mum earlier on. He had pretended to b surprised when she mentioned the engagement on Saturday. He had acted as if he was very surprised and told her he did not intend to do it as it was very sudden and he needed time. Knowing deep down he would not be able to get out of this one and had finally agreed to it making his mum promise only to get married when he wishes and not be forced into it. Nikhila had agreed to it thinking the way he had come around this, he will for the wedding too. Shiv remembered how happy she was and felt a little sorry for her knowing the shock that she was to face. Upon this thought, he had smiled.

Mac had come to see him at the caf for lunch and he had talkd to him about the situation which surprised him and he wondered if shiv was actually bluffing with him after all he did have a wicked sense of humour and Mac never really could workout when he was fibbing and when he actually was telling the truth.

Mac: U r kidding me right. Do u even know what u r saying,,,,,, Come on now,,,,, u win(he laughed) I give up, u did really shock me, for a sec I thought u wer telling the truth.

Shiv: I am telling the truth, why don't u take me seriously.(he frowned and showed nervousness)

Machaan realised he was telling the truth.

Mac: U do know that Josh loves her dearly.

Shiv: (slamming the table) I am not here to talk about Josh. I have been in love with her since the very first day I laid my eyes on her, so don't go telling me how Josh feels. She loves me just as much.,,,,,, I,,,,,,,I could not tell anyone till I knew myself ,,,( his eyes welled up)

Mac: (removing his glasses) when ,,,,did,,,, this happen man, why did I not see it, I knew something was up with you but this,,,,,,,.

Shiv: U have to help me, I could not go to anyone, we have been friends for as long as I can remember, U have to do this for me, Mum and Ipshita know of me and Gauri and………..

After this he had told Mac everything and asked him to do exactly as he told him. Mac was not keen as he would end up hurting Josh but he could not refuse him either seeing the muddle he was in.

Wednesday afternoon Machaan had called Gauri and asked her to meet him and Josh for lunch but Gauri had refused politely making on excuse of all the jobs that were lined up for her. He asked Gauri if she knew of shiv's engagement and what time he should pick her up. Gauri once again pretended to b busy and said she had not decided if she was going. Mac told her that she should not worry too much about shiv's bad behaviour and if she was not going then Josh and he himself won't go either. Gauri tears were flowing but controlling herself she told Mac, she will call him the next and let him know.

Gauri had finally agreed when Mac had pushed Josh to call her and persuade her to go. They were to pick up Gauri at 7 pm on Saturday. Gauri did agree to it but felt her heart rip to shreds, how will she face him, what would he think, why was she there. She was selling her soul to keep her friends, they were important to her.

Saturday morning she felt sick like a dog, she lye in bed till 11.30 am and thinking about this night to come wondering if she will be able to survive seeing him all happy and playing unaffected by their encounter. His face kept appearing in front of her eyes she closed them tight to make him disappear but in vain. As it happens the more ur trying to forget someone the more u end up thinking of them. She was sick of his thoughts, making her mind up finally she got out of bed and decided if nothing effected him, she will be strong and show him as well.

Gauri dresses in black sari embroidered with multi-coloured sequins with a halter neck blouse. She put her makeup on and looked for some jewellery to finish her look when she felt a sharp pain appear in her heart seeing the Navy box staring at her in the drawer. She lifted the box shiv had given her opening it gently she gaped at the gleaming gems. A rage overtook her senses and she lobbed the box in the corner. She sat still and watched the fine pieces scattered on the floor, when the doorbell rang.

Gauri opened the door smiled and greeted both Josh and Mac and asked them to take a seat mentioning she will be ready shortly. Josh could read her clearly, she was very stressed but trying so hard to maintain calm. He felt sorry for her and guilty for all the stress on her way but knew at the end of it all she will be happy. Thinking about it he sighed heavily, Josh turned to look at him, raised his brows, and gave him a questioning look. Josh smiled and shook his head, making out it was nothing. They left soon after. Gauri felt very nervous and Josh had spotted her rolling the corner of sari constantly, he couldn't help but ask if all was well. Gauri nodded without uttering a word. Mac thought about Josh feeling for Gauri and cursed the situation he was in.

Mac, Josh and Gauri entered the Kapoor house and found everyone cheering at the scene of shiv sliding the engagement ring on Ipshita's finger. Gauri stood still on the door seeing the unbelievable sight in front of her eyes. She really thought she was dreaming seeing the smile on his face, deadly smile, the very deadly smile that near enough ruined her a few nights back and the drama he had done before leaving her place.

She actually felt the need to pop to the washroom and throw up. He sure was one unemotional creep. No point crying over the past she thought and gathering courage and strength she walked alone as Mac and Josh had already walked into the crowd and were applauding the exciting event everyone was there to celebrate. She blended in with the rest and stood their ogling at Shiv who had not spotted her.

As soon as the ceremony was finished, everyone had jumped at the chance on wishing them personally and Ipshita stood their holding Shiv's hand. They both smiled, Gauri walked up to him and sarcastically congratulated him. He was shocked to see her. He had come to know from Mac, of her coming to the party tonight but was surprised to see her feeling so much at ease about this. Shiv felt sheepish at her remark but decided to overlook it.

After that, Gauri had not once looked at him but he stole glances at any chance he got. He was annoyed at her for not even wanting to look his way but then again she could not be blamed. He knew she must be dying inside but won't show it and he so desperately wanted to see it. How could she give up so easy, he wished she were as strong minded as Ipshita, this is the only thing she had lacked? He was determined to make her his and if she was as strong willed and strong minded as him, his job could be so much easier. Shiv wished, he did not have to face her resentment, as he could not stand it. He was yearning to see her smile; even thinking about it brightened his day.

The dinner was finally served and everyone was enjoying. Mac and Josh had asked Gauri to eat a few times but she refused pretending she felt a bit ill. No way could she eat, her stomach already was coming to her mouth. She could not wait to get out of there but had to be patient, she would not give him the satisfaction of feeling the power over her.

Gauri was talking to Dada Dadi when she felt dizzy spell take over and he legs giving up. Dadaji quickly grabbed hold of her and shouted for Mahen, Shiv looked over and seeing Gauri unconscious ran over to them. Before he could reach them, Josh had already picked up Gauri in his arms and family had guided him to take Gauri to one of the rooms upstairs.

Doctor was on the way. Half the people had already left and half were on still enjoying the party, everyone was told not to worry about Gauri as she was safe and carry on with the party. Dada, Dadi, Mahem, Josh, Mac, Ipshita and Shiv all were in the room. Dadi had told Shiv and Ipshita to go downstairs realising all the guests might be wondering where they had gone to. Shiv had insisted upon staying but no one seemed to be listening to him and getting the look from Ipshita he decided to go as the last thing he would want is Ipshita to suss out anything.

The doctor arrived and Shiv jumped at the chance, he excused himself from the party saying he will show doctor he way to the room.

After the check up Gauri was given a energy booster and while the examination was still taking place, gauri had come around and tried to sit up quickly seeing everyone gather around her but was told by the doctor to lie still. She looked at dadi in an apologetic manner and dadi had given her a gentle smile.

Doc: Miss Gauri, would u mind telling when was the last time u ate something? Or,,, maybe,,,,, u have something on ur mind,,,,,, ?

Gauri just mumbled, she honestly could not remember when as the last time she ate. She had been so wrapped up in her little state of affairs that she had forgotten to even eat.

Shiv looked on stunned when her eyes welled up and she had no answer to doc's question. Doctor had wanted to talk to Mahen and dadaji, he walked out handing a prescription to Mac. Josh quickly grabbed it and telling he will sort it walked out. Dadi, Mac and Shiv stood their looking. Dadi sat down next to Gauri and taking her face in her hand sasked if all was well and if there was anything troubling her. Gauri could not help and the tears rolled down her eyes. Dadi hugged her.

Gauri: aaisi ko baat nahin hai dadi, bas jab Anupam next week wapas aaingay toh main todhay dino ke liyay ghar wapis janna chahtee thee, baba bhi khush hongay aur mujhay bhi break mil jaayaygee.

Dadi: Zarron janna beta tum bohoot thakee hui lag rahi hoo, break toh lena he chahiyay, yeh kaam to kabhi nahi khatam honay wala beta. Main khud Anupam se baat karoongee. ,, acha main tumharay liyay khanaa bhijwatee hoon, zaroor khaa lena, kaho to main tumhay khud apnay hathoon se khilatee hoon,

Gauri: (Smiled) I promise, Dadi main zaroor kha loongee, aap worry nahi karna, main bilkul theek hoon.

Dadi left asking shiv to come with her. He shouted that he was just coming and let dadi leave. Shiv winked at Mac and he quitely sneaked from the room but remained outside.

Shiv sat by Gauri's side and with his hand turned her face to his. Gauri angrily removed his hand from her face and told him to leave her and get out of the room. Shiv moved even closer and asked what her problem was. Gauri tried to push him away but she was already feeling very weal and he had always been very strong.

Update 64

Gauri with her weepy eyes looked at him with anger and kept pushing him away. He shook her and asked her to calm down. She quietened and looked away.

Shiv: what is wrong with you, why are u doing this. If u are angry with me, fine, but what I don't understand is why won't u eat. Is their a point punishing ur self. Or, r you feeling guilty of letting me go. (he pulled her to face to him and stared intensely into her eyes).

Gauri: Guilty,,,,,,,,,,, Of what?,,,,,of letting what go, don't flatter ur self so much Shiv, U were false from the very first day u set foot in my life.,,,,,,, I beg of u to release me,,,,,, U win,,,,,okay. I can't bear this any longer, I just wanna get away, I don't believe I'll be coming back once I go back home.

Shiv pulled her into his hold and kissed her passionately. She cried while she responded to him and thought how she would ever be able to forget him. All he needed to do was look at her and she was lost. That happened every time. He held her face in his hands as the kiss got deeper. Shiv always caught her off guard and she melted in his hands within seconds. She still struggled in his hold blaming her unsure mind she could simply not let him keep changing her mind with his imminence to her. She knew of her weak points and now she knew that he knew and always ended up using that to weaken her.

A knock on the door had troubled him, he parted his lips from hers, and flashing a impious smile got off her bedside, walked into the on suite washroom, and closed the door behind him very quietly. One door closed and the other had opened at the same time, Ipshita walked her way looking around the room as if searching for something. Gauri noticed she had a plate in her hand. Ipshita placed it on the bedside table and asked Gauri how she felt now. Gauri mentioned she was much better and apologised for causing the inconvenience. Ipshita nodded with a don't worry kindda look while her eyes searched through the room.

Ipshita had asked Gauri if she had seen Shiv but Gauri with a fearful heart shook her head in denial. Ipshita smiled and left the room. Gauri sat there with her heartbeat going fanatical with the dread of the lie she had just told. The door knocked again ad peeping out of the washroom he walked towards the bedroom door and locked it quietly.

Shiv walked up to Gauri and picking up the dinner plate sat next to her. Gauri was still shocked at what she had just done. She gave him a quick glance wiping the sweat of her forehead.

Shiv: You,,,,,,,,,,,,, r good to me,( he winked) now, why did u not tell her I was here.(he smirked)

He grabbed some rice in the spoon and made its way in the direction of her mouth. She turned her face away from him refusing to eat. He smiled at her juvenile behaviour and turning her face tried again. Gauri grabbed his hand and looked at him heatedly.

Gauri: I don't feel hungry, I ,,,,,I ,,, don't wanna eat. Stop doing this,,,,, this,,, stop pretending that you care, Okay, I know you too well now, I thought you would've gathered this much by now.

He angrily put the plate on the side table and pushing her against the bedstead held both her hands to her back making her rise up to him. She groaned with pain. Gauri saw his eyes burning with fury and gritting his teeth he frowned

Shiv: I have had enough of you. You' r going to eat and that too coz I told u so. There is no other way about it.( he shook her).

She nodded in a panic; she could feel his heated breath on her face and knew there really was no way out of it. His raging attitude scared her. Seeing her dreaded face, he released her and moved back. Turning again he gently caresses her cheek with his thumb.

Shiv: Do u know where u r? this is my room, this is my bed (rashly), get used to this,,,,coz,,,,, coz this is where u r gonna end up one day or the other. (Holding her jaw tight now, making her close her eyes). or do you want Ipshita to be here with me……., Can u………… bear it, If it was the other way around, I……..I……..aaaaaaahhhhhh.

Removing his hand from her face he got up and handing her the plate he walked out making sure no one spotted him.

Gauri ate a few mouthfuls and placing the dish next to the bedside her eyes scrolled the room. She rubbed her hand gently on his bed and wept with the thought of Ipshita and him as he had mentioned. She felt light-headed and decided to get up out of the bed. The sooner she reached home the better. She gave his bedroom a last look and holding the dinner plate, shut the door behind her. Wiping her eyes she climbed down the stairs. Dadi saw gauri and swiftly made her way to her asking why she had got out of bed. Shiv saw this and it infuriated him that she had come out of the bedroom just coz she knew it was his room. He felt betrayed. He wanted to make her feel hurt the way she did. He grabbed hold of Ipshita and took her to the dance floor. He danced with Ipshita swinging in his arms while he occasionally glanced at Gauri with revenge-ridden eyes. Gauri saw what he was trying to do and it was somewhat leaching on to her. She felt herself on fire remembering what he had said earlier about him and Ipshita being together.

Gauri looked away and started to think of a way to get her own back. She could not believe herself when she had walked up to Josh and grabbed hold of his hand. Josh was stunned but grinned with extreme joy. Shiv was just as stunned as Josh. He felt his temperature rise at this act of Gauri. He quickly let go of Ipshita's hand and walked towards her. Josh felt overwhelmed by Gauri's closeness and straitening her to face him got on his knee and finally proposed.

Gauri was quickly taken aback by this and looked at Shiv in bemusement. Her heart pounded seeing his eyes all packed with gleaming fluid, which he now was very much trying to hide. A gentle pull from Josh reminded her of the situation she was in. Gauri smiled knowing she at this moment was the centre of attention and quietly started to sob,, with confused expressions on her face. Josh realised what he had done, he should have spoken to her before taking this huge step he speculated with his brain. He rose from the ground and held her soothingly

Josh: gauri,,,, please, please, I'm sorry, I did not mean to upset,,,,, (he shook her softly) Gauri please,, u don't have to do or say anything right now. I was just ,,, U kno,,,,( he shook his head)

Everyone was teasing Josh now for his sneaky wish, congratulated him saying how nice Gauri was, and how well suited they were. Gauri just smiled through this even though she was dreading what Shiv will have to say to her about this. She remembered the time he forbid her even to say his name from her lips. He had disappeared somewhere and it was worst for not being able to see him and know what he was feeling.

Gauri smiled throughout the rest of the evening even though her heart bled. Where was he, why had he gone, where had he gone. She prayed to god to get a glimpse of him for her own satisfaction. She felt frustrated at her mixed feeling unable to decide if she wanted him to say he loved her or she wanted to forget she ever met someone like Shiv Kapoor ever.

UPDATE 65

She was thankful to god when the evening ultimately ended and she had finally left with Mac and Josh refusing to stay at Kapoor house even at hard persuasion of family members thinking of her well-being. She had promised Dadi , she would look after herself and will call sometime. In the car Gauri found Mac to be quieter and Josh to be chirpier than usual. It got her assessing what had happened to Mac, why was he not saying anything.

They reached at gauri's place and she had offered them to come in but Mac had passed on that so Josh had no choice but to agree to it too, even though he wanted to spend every second he could with Gauri. He was disappointed and did give Mac a sorry look hoping he understood what he felt but all of a sudden it seemed that Mac was pretending he knew nothing of his feelings towards Gauri and decided to let it be today. He was happy and did not want anyone to spoil his mood. While Mac was so worried thinking of where shiv would be rite now. Gauri bid goodnight and they were on their way.

Josh found Mac to be a bit moody and to cheer him up, told a few silly jokes but decided to quit after a while seeing no change. He didnot even bother to ask what the matter was just in case he put his foot in where it did not belong as he knew that Mac as the kindda person who would never hide anything from him and would let him know all in his good time. What really was going on in Mac's head was to find Shiv right now. He could imagine his state from the other day when he finally had blurted out everything to him about his feeling for Gauri.

He dropped off Josh and tried ringing Shiv's phone while driving out towards the open road unable to decide where to go, where to find him. The only option was to keep ringing until he answered. Mac was happy that at least his phone was not switched off. In desperation, he thought for a second of calling Gauri and asking her to give him a call and find out where he was as he sure would answer her call but then changed his mind thinking Gauri would ask why he had asked her to do it. Then their plan will go bally up as well if Gauri sussed Mac knows everything about them.

He kept calling every few minutes for the next half an hour when he finally answered.

Mac: Oh god shiv, where r u bruv, I have been so worried about you.,,,,,,,,,,,,, What is going on,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, u must've known it was me,,,,,,,,,,,,, at least answer the phone just so I kno u r okay. Godsss saaaaaaaaakkkee.

Shiv: Mac, First of all I am not a baby, I can look after myself,,,,,,,,, and now tell me what is the matte,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,r why r u,,,,,, calling??

Mac: Have u been drinking, where the bloody hell r u? I need to see u about something., Tell me where u r? I'll be there in a flash?

The line was silent for a short while and then shiv had informed him of being at Anupam's house. Mac put the phone down saying he will be there shortly and not to go anywhere till he reaches.

He had opened the door to let Mac in and turning near enough fell to the floor. Mac grabbed hold of him and slowly dragged him to the nearby bedroom thinking he needed to have a good sleep. He was blathering on and Mac was trying to make some sense of his words as he was nearly knocked out and was half eating his words. He was asking Mac, what he had done wrong why Gauri was doing that to him; he had also said that he would not want to live without her. Mac calmed him and asked him to rest saying he will make it all okay and that he should not worry about anything. Mac took his shoes off and slides the blanket on him. He stood there for a few seconds thinking what had become of him and then switching the light off walked out.

Mac was there the next morning before Shiv had even woken up. He woke him up, asked him to freshen up, and told him they were popping out for breakfast. Shiv had refused saying he was in no mood but Mac would not have it and asked Shiv to stop sulking and get on with it.

While sitting having breakfast Mac told, he had a plan where Josh will drop Gauri out of his life, like a fly out of milk. Shiv listened on to him not liking very much what he was hearing but Mac had promised him that was the only way she could be his and there was no other way he could think of.

He asked Shiv if he could suggest anything better. Shiv shook his head still unsure at his suggestion but decided as he could not think of anything better than that he will go with it. Last night had thrown him out a bit. It had happened so quickly and suddenly that he did not want to take any chances. Anupam was to come back in a couple of days and this was to go into action otherwise it may just b too late.

Just as they were leaving the caf Mac's phone rang. He put his finger on his lips signalling shiv to stay quite.

Mac: hey Gauri how r u feeling now?

Gauri: Much better,,,,,, thank you.

Mac: (laughing) have u had breakfast, please tell me u have?

Gauri: I have,, baba, it is lunch time now and u r still talking about breakfast, looks like someone just woke up,,,,,,,

Mac: No, actually I have been up for ages. So all is well,yeah?

Gauri: Mac,, uumm,,,, aaaaaaaahhh, I was just wondering if u know where shiv was, I need to talk to him about some work. I did not see him when I left yesterday and I could not tell him about this last night.

Mac: (smiling) oh orite, have u tried his mobile, I tried for a long time last night but he did not answer, He must be lying somewhere pissed out of his box. U know what they say, old habits die-hard. If I get hold of him, I'll sure tell him that u r looking for him.

Gauri: no, no,,, please don't say anything, I will contact him myself, okay, please,

Mac: Gauri, chill, I won't say anything, god,,,, u should get used to him by now he is not as bad as u think.( he smirked looking at shiv)

Gauri: I know, I know, okay, ,,, Just ,,, please don't say anything, okay.

Mac: orite,,,, I won't. U take care now.

Mac put the phone down saying bye and smiled at shiv telling him how concerned Gauri was for him and grinned at the thought how easy it should be for their plan to succeed, No matter what happened Gauri could not help but think of Shiv every minute of the day. The phone call had just confirmed it and Mac was pleased at himself for thinking of such a sufficient plan where Gauri will have no way out.

Anupam returned from his trip on Thursday and was relieved, as he was to stay put for at least next five months. As much as he had enjoyed promoting his book, he was kinda sick of feeling homeless, living in the hotels and with friends. It was three days since he had been home and it was such a lovely feeling to b able to relax without any hassle of attending any meetings or press conferences. It did not matter how many a times he had done it before and how easy it should've been for him, it still took preparation and time.

It simply felt great to b at ease, he did not even feel the need to go to office as Gauri had been handling everything for so long now and had assured him that he can take it easy for a couple of weeks as there was nothing urgent happening at this moment of time. He was taking a few days off but not a couple of weeks as Gauri had suggested.

Anupam thought about yesterday when Mac and Josh had come to see him and Josh had explained how he wished to marry Gauri and what he had done on the day of shiv's engagement party. Anupam was pleased for them and had decided to Call Alokji later that evening on Josh's request if this was okay and if the engagement ceremony could take place this weekend. Anupam was all smiles seeing how much in love Josh was and how maturely he was explaining everything to him. Thinking about how love teaches everything, Anupam smiled.

Alokji informed Anupam that it would be best it was next weekend and not this as he has to make all the arrangements and also showed concern that he has no idea what kind of family Josh belongs to and also that he would like to meet them before they decide to do anything at all. Alokji had decided to leave for Mumbai this weekend and talk to Gauri about it and confirm that it was all okay on her part, after all they were making decisions about her life. He was very sure that Gauri would not say or complain to whatever he decided but he still want to see her happy and her opinion very much mattered.

Anupam had called Gauri the same evening he had spoken to Alok babbu, explained everything, and teasingly congratulated her. Gauri was shocked but it was too late for her to have any objections as baba knew and as Anupam had put, he was very pleased too.

Gauri sat by the fire and cried her eyes out wishing she had never met Shiv. She was so madly in love with him but the thought of him being so arrogant and uncaring towards her feelings was suffocating her. She thought of Josh about how sweet, caring and down to earth he was but the thought of him being near her made her shiver, all she could see was Shiv, all around her, everywhere she looked. She decided to try and forget Shiv, he was not worth her attention, anyways Josh was so very sweet, she decided once she works it out she will b very happy with him.

Baba, Kaya and Mashimaa had come to Mumbai and were over the moon when Anupam had told them how nice Josh and his whole family were. Alok Babbu had mentioned to Anupam about one of his very old friend who also lived in Mumbai, whom he would like to meet and asked him if he could help him find out his whereabouts. Anupam was stunned when he heard Alokji mention his friends name. Anupam Jumped in joy when he heard Mahen Kapoors name and explained how he called Mahen baday papa and how he was his guardian throughout his life.

Gauri was stunned and realised how she never really mentioned all the people who she really was involved with. All baba knew about was Anupam being her boss and that was that. She smiled thinking what a small world it is.That evening Mahen had come to Anupams house and seeing Mahen and Alokji hug each other and talk about all the things they got up to when young reminded Anupam of his friends and how much fun it would be seeing old friends.

A little while later Josh's father was there also and once the introductions were out of the way, they all got very comfortable with each other and Alokji was happy that Mahen knew Josh's family. All of a sudden Alokji had announced he was very much happy to have Josh as his son-in-law and if it was okay, engagement could be done at the weekend. Everyone congratulated one another and Anupam informed Alokji that the engagement party will be held at his place and he will make all the arrangements. Alokji was all emotional at Anupam's concern especially when he mentioned that Gauri was like a little sister to him. He hugged him and thanked him for all he had done for her. Anupam told Alokji never again to be formal with him like that as he considers them as his own family. Alokji nodded and smiled at him, blessing him.

Mac was happy all was going according to their plan, his only concern was for Shiv to do his bit right otherwise it would all be a waste. He had spoken to him about it, Shiv seemed a bit edgy about it and there was no other way. Josh had begged him not to bodge this up.

Saturday evening it was close group of friends and family to attend the engagement ceremony.

Gauri felt agony having to go through this. She wondered where Shiv was these last few days. She was dying a slow death realising it may even get easy seeing him here, he may just give her another reason to go through with it. Her sweaty palms, dry mouth, puzzled eyes were to give it all away. She collected herself and chose not to let those gleaming pearls drop out of her eyes. She could not wait for the ceremony to start, the sooner it started the sooner it would finish, the sooner the knot will release in her stomach. She sat in the room all by herself looking in the mirror listening to all the hustle and bustle outside.

Her stomach turned listening to all the her family and friends getting excited to get the engagements ceremony rolling. She closed her eyes and her mum's face flashed in front of her eyes. Gauri opened her eyes and thought about how easily her mum would've read her pain in her eyes. she wept as she realised how much she missed her mum at this moment of life.

As soon as she had heard footsteps leading to the room she wiped her eyes gently and looked away from the door hoping to hide her grief from whomever it was. She sat still hoping to hear from Mashimaa or kaya that they were here to take her to the hall but when she heard nothing, she turned and found Shiv leaning on the door staring her way, looking all-rough. Gauri froze when she realised he had been drinking; her already dry mouth felt like had thorns now too. She tried hard to swallow but found her tongue stick at the roof of her mouth. He looked mean and Gauri was worried it may be a problem if someone saw him here.

She dare not say anything to him, she knew how he worked, all he needed was an excuse to blow and at this moment, all she wanted was for him to stay away from her. She thought about baba and realised he would die of shame if as much as a word came from shiv bringing disrespect to his proud values.

She recited in her heart for dear god above to save her from this,,,,,, from shiv's fury. She knew if nothing else he would simply insult her because he may have felt defeated and slighted by her. Defeat was one thing he never faced and the maybe he could not take it. She felt jittery hoping Anupam or Mac came and took him away, but no one came and he now was heading straight towards her.

Gauri put her hands together and pleaded for him to stop where he was but he kept on, till his chest was touching her folded hands. Gauri eyes were flooded with tears. He lifted her face to his and asked what exactly the matter was.

Shiv: Gauri, Gauri, now tell me, r u crying because u r sorry to loose me,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, my kisses( his brushed hers), my touch( running his hands down her arms) or r u gonna play innocent and cry ur way out of this making me feel guilty so I tell no one how close we were at one point.,,,,,,,,,,,,,, rest assured I wont say anything to anyone,,,,,,,,(He smiled an evil smile) I am just bothered that u did say anything to Josh,,,,,,,, He trusts u or is it that he loves u. I thought I did too, ha,,,,, he would easily forgive u!! haan,,, don't u think,,,,,,.

Gauri sobbed on, she looked at him with those pleading eyes but to no avail, he had made his mind up. She wondered what he wanted, why was he here doing this, he wasn't exactly whispering. Anybody could hear him, what has she got herself into getting involved with him, she wept. She had always suffered in his hands sometimes of heartache and the others of love and now finally her family was to suffer too,

Gauri: Please leave me alone, Shiv. You r engaged and r to merry soon, please don't make a scene,,,,,,,, please,,,, mujhpe taras karoo, mere baba yeah sab seh nahi paaingay, please meri na sahi unkee khatir raham karo. Chalay jaoo yahaan se, please.

Shiv: (grabs her face and kissing her) U can forget what went on between u and me but its not that easy for me, Maybe u have forgotten everything but I still remember how u could not get enough of me. Tell me if I'm lying. ( Gauri removes his hands from her face and moves backwards)

Gauri: Shiv, please forget everything,,,, It was a mistake. You and me was a mistake,,,,,,,, this whole thing was a,,,,,a,,,,,, mistake.

Shiv: Yeah,,,, for u a mistake,,,,,, Ooorite, so u just make mistakes like that and forget them, u make it sound so easy,,,,, I am only here coz I was angry that u did not tell Josh anything about us,,,,,,,,,,,,,,.I could not care less,, what u do but he is my friend and I've known him long before u did.

Gauri turned in rage and asked him in vehemence what he thinks she should tell him. She was shocked to find everyone standing at the door. Baba looking at her wide-eyed wondering if it was Gauri in front of him or was it all just a nightmare. He flopped on the floor and gauri ran towards him. Alokji stopped gauri in her footsteps and getting up slowly walked out. She looked at Josh who was all tears and angry at the same time. She felt his heart break as she sobbed trying to explain but he simply walked out of there. Mashimaa and Kaya had left too trying to comfort Alokji.

Anupam, Mahen and Mac stood their looking at Gauri and Shiv. Mahen walked unto Shiv and gave him a tight slap. Shiv eyes were sawed to the ground, he did not even bother to look up and argue with him. Mahen walked unto Gauri, gently patted her head assuring her, and walked out of the room giving Shiv a smutty look.

Gauri sat on the floor and cried to her hearts content. Mac dragged Shiv out of there. Shiv looked at Gauri and wished he had found another way, his heart bled seeing her like this, and he wanted to hold her and tell her that he had no other option but to take this course. He wanted to explain that he was doing all this for her. Anupam sat on a chair next to Gauri wondering what to say to her.

On the way out Mac patted Shiv's back and flashed a full on smile which disgusted Shiv but he knew Mac was only feeling this way because he thinks Shiv was finally to get what he wanted, his joy, his happiness. Shiv responded with nothing, plain expressionless gaze which got Mac thinking. He'd gone ahead and asked if this was what shiv had wanted. Shiv gave him a tight smile and with tears in his eyes nodded. Mac knew exactly how he felt. He pointed out that it will all be okay in a few days and Gauri will forget this ever happened.

Mahen walked up to Alokji and resting his hand on his shoulder in assertion spoke

Mahen: Alokji, Mujay samajh main nahi aa raha main aapse kaise maffi mangoon,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Shiv ki is harkat se aap ko jo dukh pahuncha hai ,,,,,main uske liya kush bhi karo kamm hoga,,,,,,,,,, woh aisa nahi hai,( he frowned and squeezed his hand gently on his shoulder) mujhay aaj tak unse khabi koi shikayat ka mauka nahi diya,,,,, lekin,,,,, mujhay is baat ki koi khabar nahi thi, warna main usay Gauri ke,,,

Mahen hugged him as he wept feeling betrayed by his precious Gauri. Never in his wildest dreams had he imagined she will make him face this day where he will be forced to hide from the world.

Okay guys I am so very sorry for making u wait that long for an update but hopefully I will be covered with this one as It is somewhat long and hopefully not boring,

Now 😆like some of u do, plase keep kicking my ass so I keep up with it as I do tend to forget or get😳lazy, forgive me, I am glad u r keepin up with me and will hopefully stay till end and If I ever decide to do another one I will write it first and then display it and wont torture u guys like this😆.
