She married Shiv in the beginning for her father, and now that she has begun to love him and cares to be with despite the fact that she was deceived is her choice. He can't just play with Gauri's emotions. He chose to replace Shashank with Shiv instead of cancelling the marriage, is that fair to Gauri, when she had accepted Shashank, and now again when she has accepted her fate, he wants to go against it. I'm not saying that Gauri is right, but she can't turn on and off her emotions everytime her father says so, and I think that Alok in being a parent should atleast understand Gauri's predicament and try to understand his daughter who has many sacrifices for him too, and always put him first, she also questioned Shiv when he pretended to be killed, and let his daughter go through trauma, and grief. So I don't think Gauri is being mean, she is torn between her love and her father, and she feels she rather be with Shiv and die happy, then be away from him and keep dying in her soul from the sadness.
