Rahul Jagtiani is the new face to be picked by the Balaji camp.
Phoren returned
A student of Bombay Scottish and Sydhenam, Rahul went on to do his higher studies in marketing and stayed abroad for five years. He worked in a supply chain consultancy firm in the US and moved back to Mumbai to help in the family business.
Foray into modelling
He got his portfolio made and won the runners-up title in the Gladrags contest in 2004. He has also worked with top Indian fashion designers like Rohit Bal and Arjun Khanna. He walked the ramp for the Lakme Fashion Week last year, has been a model for several brands and even did a campaign for the Richard Gere Foundation.
Dabbling in theatre
Rahul reveals that he worked for a theatre group, Idea, run by Mujeeb Khan. He says, "We did plays on social issues like Aids awareness, Jessica Lall and the recent deluge on May 31 and its effect on the city."
Debut on TV
His track in the new serial 'Karam Apna Apna' (Star Plus) will be seen in the next fortnight. "I am very excited about my character Josh in 'Karam Apna Apna' (Star Plus). I play a guy who is at the wrong place at the wrong time, a womaniser who has to win his uncle's (Salil Ankola) approval and earn a place in the business. I am looking forward to my track with Iqbal Khan which will be shot soon," says Rahul.
TV v/s Films
Convinced that TV is the right choice, Rahul says, "The exposure one gets from television is enormous. The home entertainment is growing strongly and in films, one has to be in the elite spot or be ready for a long struggle."
