Episode 1 - "Goddess For A Day?"
So I have watched Episode 1 so far and I also found out Kalash was aired in 2001 with a different story and cast but it was not popular. After revamping, they have aired it again. I don't know what it was like before being revamped, but I like it so far. đ¤đ
The story of Mahisasur is interesting as I did not know it and I guess it is an allegorical or an analogy on which the show is based. Religion is going to play a big part I guess in this show.
I liked little Devika a lot and I noticed no one answered her question about why her tiger is a fake one. đ
The one line that caught me was the little boy telling her she is a goddess for a day before the part of the show started that got me really rattled up. The way they treated Namrita I think and showing a gender bias. It made me really really đĄ. I have not got time to rant now, but I will. I so will.
Okay what they did the culture considers incorrect before marriage but to only punish one of them instead of both was so uncalled for! This bring me to my first disliked character - The grandmother!
Uff! What kind of thinking does she have? She is a woman too right? Wait, women are their own worst critics sometimes. She's a liar too. Men lose nothing and only women lose respect for these kinds of deeds? đ¤˘I am sorry but man or woman, if you do bad, you will be disliked or even abhorred for it regardless of your gender.
Devika's questions were valid. I am glad she lost her naivety concerning certain things though the roof collapsing and saving her did not quite convince me - but it was a good answer by the Goddess.
Devika grown up is very pretty and has a good stylist. I have never seen a show with Aparna before, not that I know off, but I like her. I think I will like Ravi and Devika together. Saket looks creepy anyways.
Now Devika wants to study and be something. That's a good premise... notice CVs promise very little...I want to see how much is actually delivered. Because I like that Devika has faith but I don't want to see her as a pushover that characters like her are portrayed as... yes I hint at Gopi. I don't want another Gopi.
So that's for me for now as I have to leave but as soon as I catch up with the next few episodes I'll be right back.
