Chapter 5
Nandini was watching them dance together and was crying. But she didn't understand why she was hurt, why she didn't like Manik with any girl or why she didn't like it when Veebha said that they were in relationship and that Manik loves her.
Does Manik really love Veebha? Will they get together again?
She took a deep breath and ordered for a drink.
After two minutes she was completely drunk, just then Manik came back to check if she was okay or not.
"Jaan." Nandini heard Manik's voice calling for her. She turned and saw him standing in front of her.
"Mani!!" she shouted and started giggling.
Manik looked at her confused. After a minute his eyes widened with realisation.
"Don't tell me you are drunk."
"Drunk and I? Never!! Don't you know that Nandini Murthy never gets drunk!" she said giggling again.
"Oh god you're drunk. I just left you for 10 minutes and you managed to get drunk?! Dad and Uncle are going to kill me if they find out you're drunk."
"I told you I'm not drunk!!" she shouted and got up from where she was sitting.
"Okay, okay you're not drunk. But we have to go from here now. Come on let's go."
"Maniii i don't want to walk!" she said like a little child and opened her arms for him to pick her up.
Manik rolled his eyes and picked her up and carried her in his arms.
As they were going out of the club, Cabir came in front of them.
He looked at them both and smiled.
"She's drunk so I have to take her home." Manik said to Cabir.
"Okay then I'll call the others and we'll leave for home."
"No, no. You guys enjoy and come home later. I'll take her home, don't worry."
Cabir thought about it for a minute and then agreed thinking that maybe something will happen between them if they leave them alone.
"Okay then see you at home."
Manik nodded and left with Nandini in his arms.
While driving he noticed that Nandini is very quiet.
"Jaan are you okay?" he asked as he looked at her for a moment.
"I'm sad."
"Why are you sad? Did something happen in the club? Did someone say something to you?" he asked as he got angry even thinking of someone saying something bad to Nandini.
"No. I'm just sad. I can't tell you the reason."
"But why Nandu? You won't tell your Mani what made you sad?"
"My Mani." she muttered to herself and smiled but that smiled disappeared as she remembered Veebha's words.
"You're not my Mani anymore."
Manik looked at her surprised.
"Of course I am Jaan."
"Nooo you are not."
"Nandu what are you saying?"
"I'm telling you the truth. You're not my Mani anymore."
She said and started crying as Manik pulled over at her house.
Manik looked at her shocked.
"Jaan why are crying? You know I hate it when you cry."
He said to her as he pulled her in his arms.
He hugged her tightly and after few minutes he broke the hug and saw that she fall asleep.
He picked her up and carried her to her room.
After making sure that she is comfortably asleep, he started walking towards the door when he heard her saying that he is not her Mani anymore.
Manik stared at her for few minutes before walking away.
He went to his house and walked towards his room wondering what Nandini meant and what she was hiding from him.
Next Day
Manik walked in the Murthy Mansion and looked around for Nandini.
"Manik Nandini is in the pool side area." Nandini's mother said with a smile to Manik as she saw him looking around for Nandini.
"Thank you Auntie and good morning." Manik replied before running towards the pool side area.
Manik saw Nandini and walked towards her and sat next to her.
Nandini turned and looked at Manik.
"Hi." she said to him with a smile.
"Hi. How is your head?"
"A little better than before and I'm sorry for last night."
"It's okay but I was pretty surprised to see you drunk. You never drink so much."
"I know. I don't know what took over me last night that I drunk so much."
"Something happened last night, didn't it?"
Nandini looked away as she remembered Veebha's words again.
"Nandu look at me-" he said as he turned her face.
"Tell me what happened."
"Nothing Manik. Nothing happened." she said without looking in his eyes.
"You're lying to me? To your Manik? And that reminds me why were you saying yesterday that I'm not your Mani anymore?"
Nandini stayed silent.
"We never hide things from each other Nandini. So why are you hiding this from me?"
"You hide some things from me too Manik but you don't see me complaining."
Manik looked at her confused.
"What did I hide from you?"
"Your relationship with Veebha."
"I didn't hide it. I just didn't get time to tell you. And besides we are not in relationship anymore. The whole relationship was a mistake."
"Mistake?" she looked at him shocked.
"Yes. Veebha liked me so she came up to me one day and confessed. I didn't want to hurt her feelings and I also thought that maybe I'll start liking her but nothing happened so after a month I decided to end that relationship and be only friends with her."
"So that means you don't love her?"
Manik nodded his head.
"Then why did she lie to me last night?"
"What?"
Nandini told him what Veebha said to her.
"But I don't understand why she lied." she said wondering.
"That's not important right now. What I'm wondering is why were you affected." he said with a grin.
Nandini looked at him at first shocked and then blushing.
She looked down blushing more.
Without her saying anything, Manik understood everything and hugged her tightly.
"You don't need to say anything. I understood everything." he said breaking the hug and kissing her forehead.
Nandini looked in his eyes which were looking at her with love.
"I love you." she heard him saying after few moments of staring at each other's eyes.
''What?''
"I love you. I don't know from when but I realised it recently. You are everything I want Nandu."
